After a rapper in Riruta falls from the fifth story and dies, four Nigerians are arrested

Detectives are currently detaining four Nigerian men in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man in the Riruta area of Nairobi.

The victim, identified as Charles Waga Otieno, reportedly jumped from the fifth floor of an apartment following an altercation with the four Nigerians. Waga, a promising rapper according to his friends, was delivering a carpet to the apartment where the four suspects resided.

Upon investigation, the police learned that Waga had gone to deliver the carpet to a seventh-floor room rented by a Nigerian who paid him Sh400 for the work. However, an altercation ensued, leading to Waga screaming, stripping naked, and eventually jumping from the fifth floor, sustaining severe head injuries.

He was rushed to Coptic Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The four foreigners were arrested pending investigations into the incident, which is being treated as a potential murder.

The motive behind Waga’s decision to jump to his death while naked remains unclear. His body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In a separate case, police are also investigating the death of Stephen Maina, a driving school instructor in Lari Constituency, Kiambu County. His body was found dumped next to a funeral home in Lari. The circumstances surrounding Maina’s death are under investigation.

This incident comes after the discovery of another body, that of a middle-aged woman, dumped in Kinale Forest on Monday. She had reportedly been raped before being killed. Detectives are actively investigating these cases as incidents of homicide continue to rise in the area.
