Ahmed Darwesh’s widow and two daughters nearly raped by armed robbers

Ahmed Darwesh’s widow Hawa Hussein Jamadar survived a robbery ordeal at her house in Kitengela last Saturday night.

Armed robbers broke into her house after subduing the watchman whose hand was badly cut. Hawa is grateful to God after the robbers left her house without raping her daughter or her.

She told Nairobi News that one of the robbers attempted to rape her four times. She recalls that the gangster made attempts to have his way, but every time something happened that changed his mind.

Hawa was however slapped by a machete several times as the robbers information from her. They made away with phones, home appliances, carpets, sandals and other stuff that they could get their hand on.

Misleading perception

Hawa believes the robbery happened because people think that she is rich. She says that she wears a brave face out there but people have no idea what she goes through.

“With the name, everybody thinks I’m very rich. They always say that I’m very rich. And I really hustle, they don’t know. It’s just that I always put a brave face outside there,” Hawa was quoated by Nairobi News.

Hawa only relocated to Kitengela six months ago, she used to stay in South B but she could no longer afford the rent plus taking care of 130 children at an orphanage in Shimba Hills in Kwale County which she co-founded with her late husband.
