Former KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua is one happy man to announce his new role as Chief Executive Officer of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) by the Board of Directors. According to MCSK Board Chairperson Lazarus Muli, Mutua’s role at the role takes effect March 25, 2022.
This new role will see Ezekiel Mutua work, support and push local music after years of local artistes complaining about royalties among other problems facing the music industry. According to the statement shared to announce his new role, we understand that Dr Ezekiel Mutua emerged top among the candidates who were interviewed for the position.
Dr. Mutua’s appointment follows rigorous competitive interviews in which he emerged top among the candidates who were interviewed for the position.
While another section read:
Mutua is a consummate media professional with an immense passion for leadership, communication, and opinion driving, in both private and public sectors
Having seen how he fought the likes of Sailors, Ethic, Eric Omondi among others, this new decision made by MCSk doesn’t seem to settle well with a few artistes in the country.
Like seriously, how? After But again – if he helps stop music pirates, help them make money – then why not?
Anyway having heard the news, the likes of Eric Omondi reacted to the news saying;
Hii kenya tunasonga steps mbili mbele alafu kumi nyuma🤦♂️🤦♂️ Wembe itakua ni ile ile. Akileta unafiki tutafanya kama WILL SMITH
While Bien didn’t have much to say than;
NRG’s young sponsor Shaq the Yungin said;
Y’all ain’t getting no money 😭😂
