ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Lisa Yaro, fast-rising songstress who is breaking boundaries

There is a fast-rising songstress who is making waves across the continent and it’s only a matter of time before the world knows about her.

Born and bred in Nigeria, Lisa Yaro has amassed a huge following because of her incredible music and amazing YouTube content.

The mellow-voiced songstress, who was once nominated for a Grammy, currently resides in Los Angeles where she is pursing a career as an actress, besides making awesome music.

Her music is quite infectious because she weaves in African Music and rhythms with modern American Music resulting into an impeccable sound that will make you hit the replay button a couple of times.

A fortnight ago she released a new jam dubbed Biko and believe you me, it’s one of the best songs I have heard this year.

Her latest single Biko was produced by award-winning producer DJ Coublon with and the video directed  by Patrick Elis.

The track is lush, atmospheric and lively. With hypnotic syncopated percussion, smooth chords, sensual keys, and sweet passionate harmonic vocals ‘Biko’ is the perfect combination of Lisa Yaro’s vast range of eclectic and appealing influences.
