Asifiwe Bwana! TikTok is used by Pastor Kanyari for evangelization

Controversial preacher Pastor Kanyari has ignited a fresh debate by launching his debut TikTok account.

In a bold move, he also fired back at fellow pastors who have criticized the use of TikTok for spreading the gospel.

On April 3, the self-proclaimed man of God delivered a live sermon on TikTok, engaging with his audience in a modern and unique manner.

During his inaugural session, Pastor Kanyari encouraged his followers to tap the screen and reach 21,000 likes, expressing gratitude for their support.

“Tap tap guys, let’s reach 21k, please tap tap, thank you,” he urged.

“To those speaking ill, let them continue, but I believe those present here seek blessings, they seek prayers,” he declared.

He brushed off criticisms of TikTok, comparing it to television and suggesting that detractors should switch off their TV sets if they believe the platform is inherently negative.

“Who said TikTok is bad? I am surprised, TikTok isn’t bad, even TV is bad if preachers claim TikTok is bad, then TV is bad too. They should shut down their TVs as well,” he asserted.

Recently, Pastor Ng’ang’a condemned the use of TikTok, suggesting that the generation using the platform is cursed.

Meanwhile, popular TikToker Nyako shared her thoughts on the controversy, expressing concerns about pastors joining TikTok and foreseeing its impact on traditional church attendance.

“TikTok has become popular. Pastor Kanyari, Pastor Ng’ang’a are on TikTok. We will be interacting with pastors on TikTok. Soon, even Pastor Ezekiel. We will be critiquing each other. Very soon, we will be one nation under one roof. Even Ruto is here with a pseudo,” Nyako commented.

She further cautioned about potential church closures due to declining attendance among youths, attributing this trend to the allure of TikTok and the growing influence of social media on religious practices.

“I told you guys TikTok is the end of time. It is going to unite and divide us. TikTok is the alpha and omega of humankind. Churches are going to be shut down because the youths are not attending. If Pastor Ng’ang’a has joined TikTok, then churches are at risk of closure,” she warned.
