Bahati In Tears As He’s Told To Step Down From Mathare Parliamentary Bid (Video)

Award winning musician Bahati’s political ambition is on the verge of getting tarnished after he was admonished to step down from Mathare parliamentary bid. The musician, who grew up in Mathare, sought to take the political route with an aim to change the life of the youths in the constituency.

But a new twist has emerged after he was told to step down in favour of sitting MP Anthony Oluoch. A video shared by online media Nicholas Kioko has shown Bahati in tears as he narrates the hardships of the youth in Mathare, adding that he’s no longer going to step down and throw his certificate. He recently won Jubilee’s popular candidate for Mathare MP seat. And he’s not willing to give this up.

”I want to state in a very humble way… For this one, you have to understand I can not step down for someone that has not helped my people… Do not kill the hearts of the youths in Mathare. I can not step down for someone that has used Mathare to benefit himself. No, I will not… And you become this unfair to me. Will there be any other youth vying in the near future?”

Bahati continued;

In a humble way, I say no, I’m not returning and I’m not recalling my certificate. And I will be on the ballot on the 9th of August 2022. And I strongly believe that I am the next Member of Parliament in Mathare constituency.

Bahati maintained that he’s still a supporter of Azimio, and will not back down under any circumstance.
