Former broadcaster Betty Kyallo has opened up about her struggles with finances and the challenges she faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kyallo, who runs her own salon business, revealed that she initially feared for her financial security when she left her broadcasting job. “I didn’t get paid when I left my last TV job, and I didn’t know what to do, despite having a salon business. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I didn’t know how I was going to pay my bills,” she confessed.

She further explained the difficulties of running a business, particularly during a pandemic when competition was intense. “It’s not easy running a business, especially if you have to pay your employees on time. There are many challenges, and there have been times when I have thought about giving up,” she admitted.

Kyallo’s salon business, ‘Flair by Betty,’ has faced its share of ups and downs. She has relocated the salon multiple times, citing struggles and seeking better locations. Despite these challenges, Kyallo has persevered and expanded her business ventures, including opening a high-end barbershop called ‘After Shave by Flair.’

Despite her public image of success, Kyallo has not been immune to financial pressures. She has experienced financial strain and even faced threats from individuals demanding immediate payment of debts. “Most of the time, life is difficult. Even if you look at Betty, she is thriving and opening a business after another and sometimes you think I am doing well. Many times, some of the struggles you are going through are the same ones I am going through,” she shared.

Kyallo’s story highlights the reality that financial challenges can affect anyone, regardless of their public persona or perceived success. Her experiences serve as a reminder that financial struggles are often faced in silence and that seeking support is crucial.
