Celebrity actor and body builder Robert Budi charged with alleged child molestation

On November 29, 2023, there was a stir when police in Nairobi detained a celebrity and his spouse for allegedly molesting a youngster.
According to reports, the tragedy happened at the Lang’ata estate known as Karen Plains.
In an unexpected turn of events, the muscular Robert Budi—a bodybuilder, actor, and media star—shook off the policemen who came to arrest him for infringing on the child’s rights.
Budi and his spouse Wendy Kimingi were taken into custody outside the High Court.
The Kibera Law Courts are where they will be charged.
Budi was eventually overwhelmed by the police, who then handcuffed him and took him to the Karen Police Station, where he was being held until his arraignment in court.

Budi was led outside the courthouse wearing a green pair of slacks, a white canvas shoe and a white T-shirt. He covered his face, ostensibly out of embarrassment.
Budi and Wendy exited the courtroom where they had attended a case shortly before the dramatic arrest took place.
The pair was being pursued by agents from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for this matter.
Both of them are accused of cruelly treating a child in violation of section 25 of the Children Act (No. 29 of 2022).
The incidents, according to the police, allegedly took place in Nairobi’s Karen Plains in the Lang’ata sub-county between October 22, 2022 and February 10, 2023.
On November 30, 2023, the accused is scheduled to appear in court.
During a vibrant gala ceremony held at The Mall in Westlands, Nairobi, Budi was declared the 2018 Mr Kenya.
Budi is not only a well-known bodybuilder but also an actor and TV personality. In the soap opera Maria on Citizen TV, he portrayed Trevor.
