DJ Brownskin Arrested For Sending Video Of Late Wife Taking Poison To Girlfriend

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested popular Kenyan DJ Michael Macharia Njiiri, popularly known as DJ Brownskin, for allegedly sending a video of his late wife Sharon Njeri taking an alleged poisonous substance to his other girlfriend who is staying abroad.

The detectives confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, saying that Brownskin had been ignoring police summons before he was arrested on Thursday.

The statement said that the video was taken on July 29, 2022, at the couple’s home in Garden Estate, Kasarani, Nairobi. It said that Njeri was seen in the video taking an unknown substance from a bottle.

The detectives said that they were able to establish that Brownskin had sent the video to his girlfriend, who is based in the United States, on the same day.

The detectives said that they are investigating the circumstances leading to Njeri’s death and that Brownskin will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.

Brownskin’s arrest has sparked outrage on social media, with many people calling for him to be punished for his alleged role in his wife’s death.

Some people have also called for the government to review the laws on domestic violence, saying that they are not strong enough to protect women from abusive partners.

The case is ongoing and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be.
