DJ Pinye accept humiliation and makes a humble apology to musicians whose careers he derailed

Veteran mix master DJ Pinye ruffled many people’s feathers when he revealed that he deliberately refused to play songs from some artistes.

The 48-year-old said some artistes dropped mediocre songs and as such wouldn’t bother playing the songs. He mentioned Khaligraph Jones and DNA among artistes he had blacklisted.

“There are artists whose music I did not play back in the days, including Khaligraph and DNA, but their careers have grown… I cannot play Lamba Lolo or New Position. DJs shouldn’t play mediocre music,” said DJ Pinye in an interview with NRG radio.

Apology

Khaligraph Jones, DNA were among some of the artistes who were offended by DJ Pinye’s remarks. DNA decided to hit back with a diss track.

DJ Pinye has since eaten the humble pie. The veteran mix master took to social media to wave the white flag and apologize to artistes who felt their careers were derailed by his action.

“On my bdays, I usually reflect on alot of things about my life. Today, am thinking about my impact. My impact on other people’s lives specifically those in the music industry. One thing is clear, I am aware of my influence. I apologise to those who feel I played a part in derailing their music career. But I am not apologetic for the values and standards I uphold for our music industry. #itsmybirthday #foreveryoung #playgoodmusic,” wrote DJ Pinye.
