Husband of woman shot dead while allegedly having sex at City Park reveals wife had an affair with his nephew

46-year-old Janet Wangui Waiyaki was shot dead on Sunday 20th May 2018 at City Park. The woman was said to be having sex with 26-year-old Bernard Chege in a Toyota Fielder at the time of the shooting.

Police statement says that two officers knocked on the car’s tinted windows but there was no response, then all of a sudden the vehicle sped off towards the road prompting the officers to open fire.

Janet Wangui’s husband George Kirubi has come out to reveal that he knew his wife was cheating on him with his own nephew Bernard Chege.

Mr Kirubi tells Nation that he even he approached Janet’s mother and Chege’s mother and asked them to warn the two against the illicit relationship.

“Yes I complained to Wangui’s mother and sister as well as Chege’s mother—who is my late brother’s wife —that I do not want that relationship between Chege and Wangui,” said George Kirubi.

Mr Kirubi however rubbished claims that he paid police to execute his wife. Janet was married to Kirubi as a second wife and they have three children together.

“I did not kill my wife. Now why would I kill Janet? Of what benefit would it be for me to kill the mother of my three children? If I killed my wife, who would raise my three young children?” Said Kirubi.
