Diamond Platnumz has dismissed claims that he has neglected his father Abdul Juma. The singer admits he doesn’t have a close relationship with his dad but asserts that he also has no beef with him.

Abdul Juma abandoned Diamond and his mother while the ‘Waka’ hit maker was just a kid. Diamond was solely raised by his mother.

Mzee Abdul later resurfaced when Diamond had become a superstar and wanted to be part of his life. Several lies have been said about Diamond giving his deadbeat father a cold shoulder but the singer has now addressed the issue.

Diamond spoke about his relationship with his father while addressing journalists outside a Dar es Salaam court where he had a case with Hamisa Mobetto about their son’s upkeep.

The Tanzanian crooner says he assists his father where possible. He further reveals that he has no close relationship with his father because of his absence in his life.

“Babangu tunawasiliana naye…Upande wa kumsaidia namsaidia ikiwa sina uwezo pia sina uwezo. Lakini bahati mbaya hatuku bahatika kuwa na ukaribu kama nilivyo na mamangu. Hatujazoena hivyo, kwa pengine watu kuniona siko na yeye katika hadara wanaona kama Diamond ana vita na babake,” said Diamond Platnumz.
