In light of the unfortunate death of actor Charles Ouda, Maureen Waititu asks for kindness

Content creator Maureen Waititu has issued a call for kindness and compassion in the wake of the sudden and tragic death of actor Charles Ouda, who passed away on Saturday, February 3, as confirmed by his family.

Expressing her condolences, Waititu emphasized the need for sensitivity during such challenging times. In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Maureen Waititu, though not personally acquainted with Charles, acknowledged the actor’s contributions to the film industry, spanning from “Makutano Junction” to “Second Family.”

She extended sympathies to Charles Ouda’s family and friends, noting the disheartening nature of some online reactions to the news. Waititu found it distressing to see comments from individuals turning this heart-shattering time into something else. She criticized those hiding behind keyboards, acting as if bad things can’t happen to them, and throwing painful words to people in the limelight without knowing the situation.

Recalling a previous incident where a blog triggered harsh comments directed at the deceased actor, Waititu highlighted the urgent need to combat cyberbullying. She appealed for unity against online attacks and urged bloggers to refrain from sensationalizing stories for the sake of clicks.

“Let loved ones mourn this man in peace,” Waititu urged, concluding her post with a heartfelt tribute to Charles Oudo: “RIP Charles. May God give Ciru strength and comfort,” referring to the actor’s colleague @cirumuriuki.

In a separate development, homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters have taken over the investigation into Charles Ouda’s sudden death. The team visited the scene in Westlands, Nairobi, on Monday, February 5, to probe the incident. The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
