KCPE Results Expected Next Week, Form One Admissions To Proceed Before Christmas

The marking of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams has concluded, and the results are anticipated to be released by next week, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

Machogu expressed satisfaction with the administration of the KCPE exams, noting that the final group of candidates under the 8-4-4 system, which is being phased out after 38 years, sat for their exams with minimal reported cases of cheating.

“We have completed the marking process and will release the results anytime next week,” Machogu stated during his address at the 3rd Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Kenya international conference on girls’ education in Africa on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

The Cabinet Secretary also revealed the government’s intention to place the 1.4 million KCPE candidates in their respective secondary schools before Christmas to provide parents with ample time to prepare for Form One admissions.

“Ideally, we aim to conduct Form One admissions before Christmas, allowing parents to prepare for their children to join Form One around the third week of January,” he explained.

This timely release of results and efficient placement of students will ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary education, allowing parents and students to plan accordingly. The government’s commitment to providing quality education for all remains a priority, and these efforts underscore its dedication to supporting the academic journey of young Kenyans.
