Kenyan Hollywood actor Silas Mwenda seeks divine intervention after suffering severe depression

Just when he thought his world was crumbling, Silas ran to God and it turned out his decision was the smartest thing he did.

Silas Mwenda is also a Hollywood actor signed to Lincoln Talent Agency in USA, he will soon feature in a major film project set to premiere in summer in the US.

The multitalented singer/actor recently suffered severe depression that saw him go to bed in tears every night. He was about to give up on life altogether when he decided to seek divine intervention to his suffering.

“Recently I was going through a very tough challenging situation in my personal life. I could go to bed in tears and wake up in feeling so low every day, a situation that pushed me to the wall and almost crashed my spirit into pieces. I had thought all is gone. I had very many questions than answers. It was very hard to pray. It was hard for me to believe that I could rise back on my feet again,” Silas wrote.

Through his prayer to God, Silas decided to pour out his feeling and pain in a song. He recorded a worship song as thanksgiving to God.

“Tunakuabudu is basically a worship song..I was inspired to sing this song as a thanksgiving song to God in my simple Swahili words from the deepest part of my heart for what He has done for me.

“When I was recording the song, I just wanted to pour my inner pain out to God in a song. The style of the music didn’t matter at all. After all CRY has no style. There is no Kapuka, Genge, hip hop or Rnb cry. There is no formula to CRY. My voice got filled with a lot of emotions during recording crying out to God for help. This song has indeed brought forth my healing. God has indeed restored back my joy, peace and all that the enemy had stolen away from me. He has indeed fought all my battles. Am feeling so alive now. Am hoping it will do the same to the human being with ailing souls who watches this video across the globe. TUNAKUABUDU is a song that rotates around God supremacy and power to save.” Added Silas

Thanks to his singing prowess, he has been nominated in the FOAGA Awards in the Best Urban Gospel Artist category. Watch Silas’ worship song in the video below:
