Kenyan Pastor David Owuor Sparks Controversy By Claiming Responsibility For Corona Virus

Kenyan pastor Dr. David Owuor, head of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness church, is under fire after a video emerged online showing him take responsibility for bringing the coronavirus pandemic.

The undated video, shared on TikTok, features Owuor preaching to a large congregation. In the clip, he warns Kenyans against defying him, claiming he has the power to inflict devastation on the nation, but has chosen mercy instead.

“I am the one who brought the Coronavirus,” Owuor asserts in the video. “Look at how many people died at my word. Kenya, don’t test me. If I destroy you, I will destroy you completely. But for now, I am giving you grace.”

Owuor’s comments have sparked public outrage, with many Kenyans expressing their disapproval online. The pastor has a history of courting controversy with his pronouncements of prophecies. He has amassed a significant following through his flamboyant style.

One such instance included his alleged prediction of the post-election violence in 2007. This is just one of his numerous “prophecies” that have garnered him a loyal following among a segment of the Kenyan population. Owuor is among several religious figures in Kenya who have generated controversy in recent years.
