Keroche Heiress Anerlisa Muigai Explains Furloughing Of 370 Employees From The Company (Screenshot)

Netizens are experiencing the most challenging economical time and it’ll be even harder for 370 Kenyans who were laid off from Keroche Breweries. The company has recently been on a scandal spree that almost saw it shut down after an agreement on how it would settle its tax arrears failed to be reached.

The company had previously announced that the future of 400 workers was in jeorpardy and even pleaded for a chance to rejuvenate their company after hiatus months.

Keroche agreed to pay Ksh957 million to the tax authority in a period of 24 months starting January 2022- but seems like the math is not adding up.

Anerlisa On Worker’s Send Off

Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai has now explained why it was necessary for the hefty number of workers to be sent on mandatory unpaid leave. According to her, the sales people were sleeping on their job. She shared via her Instagram stories;

”I keep telling my sales people that there are so many people in need of a sales job. Sometimes people may see as if firing people who are not working is unfair especially with the economy right now, but you fail to understand that, the same way you need money to survive, it’s the same way the company need your sales to survive.”

The company went ahead to release their statement confirming that they indeed laid off the 370 workers. Check screenshot below courtesy Nairobi Gossip;
