King of Mugithi takes Gikuyu music to Germany

When you hear a vernacular singer having a show abroad the first thing that crosses your mind is probably audience composition, who are those people in Germany who listen to Gikuyu music?

Well, you might think probably Kikuyus living in Germany but you will be surprised to find out that the King of Mugithi – Mike Rua has Caucasian  fans.

Mugithi Night London concert way back in 2015 proved that music is a universal language, good music to be precise. White folks who flocked to Mike Rua’s London concert two years ago showed building foreign fan base is for the talking for vernacular singers.

The reason why Mike Rua is taking Mugithi songs to Germany. The king of Mugithi is slated to perform in Berlin on Saturday 23rd September and in Frankfurt on 30th September.

Tickets for the Berlin concert go for  20€ or Kes 2482, even local A-list artists won’t dare charge that in Kenya.
