Legalization my foot! Shock to weed smokers as John Mututho comes out strong to oppose legalization of marijuana

Kibra MP Ken Okoth recently excited party animals when he announced petition to legalize the growth and use of marijuana in Kenya.

Anti-alcohol crusader John Mututho has however come out strong to oppose the move by Ken Okoth even before weed lovers could start the celebrations.

The former NACADA boss, who is infamous for enacting draconian laws to curb alcohol consumption in the country, insists that decriminalizing cannabis will hurt the youth.

Let’s have logic

Mututho insists that weed is a very dangerous substance that should never be legalized. He insists that MPs have obligation to protect children and as such shouldn’t allow weed to be legal in Kenya.

“These are dangerous substances. I get surprised when an honourable member of Parliament comes and starts to gain popularity by advocating for an illegality to make it legal, just as they did with portable spirits standards. Let’s have logic. Why do we have to legalise something that affects the functionality of the brain?” said Mututho.
