In every competition, there’s a winner and a loser. And it’s no exception when it comes to electing a new leader. Kenya’s 5th President William Samoei Ruto came out of the blue to clinch Kenya’s presidential seat after a thorough campaign. His opponent Raila, who has vied for the same seat 5 times, lost yet again- but is yet to concede defeat even after IEBC Chairman made the official announcement declaring Ruto as the 5th President of Kenya.

Kenyans on Twitter shared ambivalent reactions after the long-awaited announcement, with most of them congratulating Ruto’s victory.

Bien Reacts

Sauti Sol’s Bien Baraza was also conglomerated into sharing his piece of advice to netizens, who were disappointed by the loss of Baba, telling them itabidi wazoee. 

The award winning singer has admonished netizens to go back to the field and work and forget about politics for now.

He shared his sentiments via Mungai Eve’s YouTube- and added that music should be part of education in schools.

”Our lives can’t revolve around elections. I understand the importance, but let’s go back to the field and work. That’s what’s going to determine a better Kenya… Na wale wame-lose, inauma lakini mtazoea tu… Hii government tafadhali, tutilie maanani story za muziki in our schools.”

Bien’s sentiments comes at a time when the political talk is at it’s peak following the presidential announcement.
