Maribe has just driven out the gates of Langata Womens Prison. Home, sweet home – Itumbi

For the first time in almost two months, Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe slept in a cozy bed in BuruBuru with her parents and Dennis Itumbi’s heart settle down.

Maribe was released on Tuesday after Justice James Wakiaga granted her a Sh1 million bail with three sureties. However, Maribe could not immediately go as verification of surety documents was slow.

According to Itumbi, the verification process, which sometimes involves checking the property to ascertain ownership, worth and whether persons standing surety are citizens, was taking too long and Maribe almost spent another night at Langata Women Prison.

“Yesterday, the same games were employed. The Deputy Registrar declined to sign the letter committing documents to land registry and registrar of persons yesterday. We decided to wait for today,” Itumbi said on Twitter.

“This morning family and friends reported at the High Court at 7am and the Deputy Registrar signed a letter that was on her desk from last evening at 11am. No problem with that, we can live with that.”

Celebration

After Jacque was released, Itumbi tweeted:

“Jacque Maribe, has just driven out the gates of Langata Womens Prison. Home, sweet home. Thanks for maombi.”

Kenyans have been trolling the two ever since the announcement was made as on Tuesday.
