“Marry a second wife” Mombasa Women Rep pleads with president Uhuru Kenyatta

More and more women leaders are coming out in support of polygamy. Mombasa Woman Rep Asha Hussein wants president Uhuru Kenyatta to take a second wife to set a good example.

Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba started the debate on polygamy being better than monogamy when she asked Kikuyu men to take up to five wives.

She argues that social problems like street urchins can only be solved by polygamy. Wamuchumba was even supported by atheists in Kenya.

“Many women support the idea of legalizing polygamy in the country but Uhuru should take the challenge by marrying a second wife and introduce her in the press for all of us to see,” Asha Hussein said on Monday during a workshop on Affirmative Action in Mombasa.
