Mugithi Star Kareh B Loses Son In School Bus Accident

Mugithi singer Kareh B is mourning the loss of her son, Joseph Maduli, who died in a bus accident on April 1st.

The family only learned of the accident through social media, sparking outrage over the school’s decision to transport students home at night.

According to Kareh B, this was an unusual practice, and some parents, including herself, had expressed concerns. She highlighted that prior to this incident, students were never sent home after dark.

“Easy Coach buses,” which the school used, were reportedly fully booked, leading to the last-minute decision for a night journey. This left many parents, including Kareh B, feeling a lack of control and communication.

The heartbroken mother described a desperate search for her son throughout the night. After receiving no news from Joseph, unlike other students with minor injuries, she grew increasingly worried.

A family friend confirmed that a teacher had stated only students with minor injuries were allowed to contact their parents. This added to the confusion and distress.

“As parents, we have so many unanswered questions,” stated Diana Gichengo, a family friend. The lack of transparency from the school regarding the accident details was a major concern.

Following Joseph’s disappearance, the family sent a friend to search nearby Kisumu hospitals. Sadly, their worst fears were confirmed. Arrangements are now underway to transfer Joseph’s remains to Nairobi.

The accident, which occurred on April 1st near Mamboleo, Kisumu, claimed one life and left several students injured. The cause of the accident is reportedly driver error at the Mamboleo roundabout.

This tragedy has not only left a family grieving but has also raised questions about communication and safety protocols regarding student transportation.
