There were no written eulogy or funeral programme, no tributes and even the pastor who presided over the burial of Claire Njoki Kibia didn’t introduce her mother and her siblings.
Claire Njoki Kibia was one of the most notorious gangsters in Nairobi before police finally gunned her down, her death was a great relief to city dwellers.
Claire met her end last week in Nairobi when she failed to surrender to police officers trailing the gang she was a member.
The deceased thug was only 17 years old at the time of her death. She was buried yesterday May 18th 2017 at her family’s home in Kambirwa, Murang’a County.
Her unorthodox funeral was attended by family members and handful of her friends. Plain clothes police were also present at Claire’s burial.
There was no written eulogy for the deceased, the funeral services took place without any clear programme. The pastor who presided over the burial also did not even introduce her mother or her siblings and also no one paid tribute to the fallen gangster.
Minutes after the burial, Plain clothes police officers raided the home of Claire Noki and arrested three men said to belong to the gang which the deceased was part of. The men were driven away in different vehicles.
