Octopizzo Breaks YouTube Record with 1 Million Views in 36 Hours

Rapper Henry Ohanga, better known by his stage name Octopizzo, has broken the record for the fastest time to reach 1 million views on a music video in Kenya. His new song, “Sijawai,” reached the milestone in just 36 hours after being uploaded to YouTube on May 24, 2023.

The video for “Sijawai” has already been viewed over 2 million times and is currently trending at number 27 on YouTube. The song has been praised for its catchy beat and Octopizzo’s clever lyrics.

Octopizzo’s achievement is a major milestone for Kenyan music. He is the first Kenyan artist to reach 1 million views in such a short amount of time. His success is a sign of the growing popularity of Kenyan music and the increasing global reach of Kenyan artists.

The previous record for the fastest time to reach 1 million views on a music video in Kenya was held by Otile Brown and Harmonize’s song “Woman.” That song reached 1 million views in 48 hours.

Other Kenyan songs that have reached 1 million views in a short amount of time include Sauti Sol’s “Suzanna” (3 days) and Diana B’s “Hatutaachana” (3 days).

However, Tanzanian artists Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny still hold the record for the fastest time to reach 1 million views on a music video in East Africa. Their song “Number One” reached 1 million views in just 24 hours.
