Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s TV stations, World Evangelism TV and New Life Television, are back on air after a court ruling. The stations were shut down in April 2023 by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) on grounds of violating broadcasting regulations.

Pastor Odero challenged the decision in court, arguing that the CA had no authority to shut down his stations. On Thursday, June 15, 2023, a Mombasa court ruled in Pastor Odero’s favor and ordered the CA to restore the broadcasting licenses of his TV stations.

The church announced the reopening of its TV stations on YouTube, thanking God for the ruling. “To Newlife family, we give God all the glory. Now we are on air in aerial, free to air decoder and satellite in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Congo and Congo DR,” the church announced.

Pastor Odero’s TV stations have a large following in East Africa and beyond. The stations broadcast a variety of religious programming, including sermons, Bible studies, and motivational talks. The stations also air news and current affairs programs.

The reopening of Pastor Odero’s TV stations is a major victory for the pastor and his followers. It is also a victory for freedom of expression and religious freedom in Kenya.

The reopening of Pastor Odero’s TV stations is a reminder that freedom of expression and religious freedom are important rights that should be protected.
