Prince Indah drops millions on a brand-new single

Prince Indah reveals that his latest song represents his most substantial financial investment in a project to date, with recording and production costs reaching a reported Sh3 million.

The new hit, titled ‘Nyar Jaduong,’ is scheduled for release this weekend.

Prince Indah, born Evans Ochieng Owino, has witnessed an upsurge in his music’s popularity over the past three years. He describes the upcoming song as a “very serious project” that was “very expensive to produce.”

Expressing confidence in the song’s reception by his fans, he states, “It’s a very serious project. I am certain the song will take over the airwaves. The kind of video of song we will release, I don’t think if there is any Kenyan artiste who has ever done like what we have. And this is not clout chasing, there is no Kenyan artistes who has done so (put a huge investment in a video project). The entire project cost me at minimum Sh2.5 million and if we add the miscellaneous costs, it would hit Sh3 million. So far this is the most expensive project on my catalogue.”

Prince Indah emphasizes that the shooting location is not the primary factor in the project’s cost, but rather the storyline and individuals incorporated to convey that story.

The project is directed by renowned film producer Daudi Anguka. Besides this upcoming hit, Prince Indah, known for singing primarily in vernacular, has other well-received tracks like ‘Osiepe,’ ‘Mashabiki,’ ‘Ogada Member,’ and ‘Adhiambo,’ in collaboration with celebrated artist Kelvin Kioko, aka Bahati. The ‘Adhiambo’ music video, featuring various celebrities including politicians Babu Owino, Jaguar, and Jalang’o, has gained 26 million views on YouTube. Other notable appearances in the video include comedian Eric Omondi and Captain Otoyo.
