KTN’s Sharon Momanyi expectant

An ocean blue theme took over the decor and was the main color on the cake’s icing, with a toddler’s shoes and the tag ‘MOM’ to crown it up. The setting was simple but classic and the group present sure had a beautiful time as a dear Sharon looked forward to holding her little one in her arms.

Akisa Wandera, Sharon Momanyi as well as Ian Wafula were among the colleagues who got an invite to the event. Looks like the heavily expectant mom is not far away from welcoming her bundle of joy and we can only wait. Presumption is the baby is a boy, basing on the theme color picked on but we can only speculate.

Meanwhile, a Big congratulations to the beauty and her better half! Have a look at how the event went down:

Congratulations were in order as fans could not hold back their excitement and admiration of the major steps she was making in her love life.

KTN news anchor Akisa Wandera is the latest victim of celebs names being used to con fans after con men used  her name on social media to beg for money.

Wandera was forced to take to Instagram and Facebook to warned her fans from sending any money to  social media pages whose owners purported to be her and claimed they were supporting Childrens Home.

She denied knowing the Home or even working with them.

”I don’t know a home by the name Caroline Destiny Childrens Home neither am I conducting any fundraiser for them. Folks beware! Don’t send anyone pretending to be me money!” Akisa warned.

6 new faces on KTN and NTV news-desk that are taking over Kenyan television

There was a major media realignment in Kenyan television after Citizen TV raided NTV and KTN and poached some of their best journalists.

Nimrod Taabu, Jamila Mohamed, Rashid Abdalla (Swahili desk) and Victoria Rubadiri left NTV to join Citizen TV. Larry Madowo left to join BBC.

Meanwhile KTN lost Mashirima Kapombe and Yvonne Okwara who also join Citizen TV. Betty Kyallo quit KTN and it’s not clear whether she will join K24 as reported earlier.

KTN and NTV decided to hire new talent to replace the seasoned journalists who left. 6 new faces hired by these two TV stations are taking over Kenyan television:

Akisa Wandera

She joined KTN from Ebru TV and she is definitely the next big thing on KTN now that Betty and Yvonne are no longer there. Akisa has been making waves on social media, a likely indication that she is building her own legion of fans just like other big names in media.

Jesse Rogers

He joined KTN from KUTV – station owned by Kenyatta University. Jesse was inspired by celebrated journalist Catherine Kasavuli to pursue a career in media. And he is now the reason why some ladies can’t afford not to watch Friday Briefing.

Fridah Mwaka

She was one of the contestants during the 2015 edition of KTN’s reality show ‘The Presenter’. Fridah joined KTN Swahili desk to replace Mashirima Kapombe. Before joining KTN, Fridah was hosting a radio show.

Maalika Kazia

She is one of the prettiest news anchors on Kenyan television. Maalika Kazia joined KTN news desk from Radio Africa Group’s East FM where she was a presenter.

Zainab Ismail

She was also a contestant on season 2 of KTN reality show ‘The Presenter’. Zainab worked at Ebru TV before she joined NTV English desk. She was paired with Trevor Ombija and they are one of the most captivating duo on Kenyan television.

Olive Burrows

She is the only Kenyan journalist who interviewed retired President Barack Obama when he came to Kenya in July 2015 as sitting US President. Olive joined NTV from Capital FM and she was paired with Dennis Okari, the two have onscreen chemistry just like Larry Madowo and Victoria Rubadiri. Okari should marry this girl already!
