Milestone: How Does it Feel to Buy and Drive your First Car?

A man buying their first car is a milestone that feels straight out of this world. Do not for a moment equate that to bourgeois issues like a man’s first love or kiss.

The first time you get in your car. How does it smell? You run your fingers through the textures. Leather? Fabric?

You start it – let it idle for a few minutes as you bask in pure awe that you finally got to own one.

Then, you drive it. You go fast. You go over the speed limit the very first time. You make the engine roar with unnecessary raves – and think “Wow! I can’t believe this is happening!”

You spend hours sitting in that car, chatting up friends.

Any chance you get to reverse, you subconsciously become your father: Ignore the mirrors, drape your hand over the front passenger seat as you reverse…. It is an awesome feeling!

At home, while in parking – you cannot sit still. You go to the window to check it out every five minutes, like: Is it actually there or is this just a dream? Is THAT really my car?

It is there, and yes – that’s your car! It is an overwhelming feeling. Finally, you get the feeling of the gods having smiled upon you.

Biko Zulu writes:

It’s a big thing, your first car. My first car was a Toyota E100, 1300 CC, or something like that.
I was 27. It was a basic car with a basic shape designed by a Japanese fellow called Akihiko Saito with a Ph.D. in Engineering.

I thought I would never fall in love with another car again. It was white and faster than light. I don’t recall if the AC worked or not. I know the brakes did, and that’s all the expectation you had of your car; could you stop when you needed to stop? The back left door had a problem, couldn’t open from the outside.

I had to lean all the way, between the front seats, to open it. It felt grown up to do that. It felt grown up to do something I saw my dad do when I was a child; hold the passenger seat as I reversed looking back.

It was just me and my old Toyota E100 with about 200 million kilometers on it. But what a beauty that carried beauties. Man, the memories!

In nine out of ten times, it is an uphill task achieving that first milestone.

Celestine Ndinda Unveils Her 1 Month Old Son For The First Time (Photo)

]Comedian Njugush and his wife Celestine Ndinda have welcomed yet another member in their family. The two sweethearts kept the news of the delivery under wraps, before recently unveiling that their son is already a month old now.

Sharing via Instagram, Celestine shared a sneak peak of their baby & his name- divulging that he was already a month old.

She wrote;

”It’s now 1 month since we welcomed our newest family member, Baby Toria.Thank you all for your prayers and wishes.
Mama boys, Tugi&Toria (inyaa tuvisi????)”

Baby Toria is their 2nd born son after Tugi. Seems like the two sweethearts weren’t ready to share the news on delivery day. But all in all, it’s only a matter of time before they unveil his face.

Congratulatory Messages

Upon seeing the news, numerous celebrities flocked Celestine’s comment section to congratulate her, in tandem with her hubby Njugush. Below are some of the reactions;

Njugush celebrates wife’s 30th birthday in style, thanks her for remaining loyal

One thing about Njugush is that he has always been honest about his humble background. He is open about getting financial support from his wife back in the day when they were dating and did not have much to offer but promises.

From what he says is that his now wife, Celestine Ndinda still stood by him and believed in his dream and years later….the two are running the entertainment industry with comedy shows. So far – from my judgement, I believe both Njugush and wife together with the Mkurugenzi’s have replaced Churchill show.

Anyway having come so far, Njugush couldn’t help but celebrate his wife’s 30th birthday in the best possible way, that is – appreciate her;

Njugush and wifey, Cele

Happy birthday nyina wa iana ciakwa (mother of my children). Yani ni mimi na wewe mpaka mwisho…

Adding;

Thanks for always trusting the process…. it’s slow but sure… Thanks for always being real. Always living the moment whether good or bad, look at us now! Happy birthday my Kamúikaba.

Trust the process

As usual, Njugush shared a throwback photo remencing on the tough but fun moments he went through with Celestine – way before he had money to support her. Speaking about this tbt photo the comedian said;

Njugush

This day tulikua tunaenda kutafuta my 1st house in Nairobi nihame kwa mathe Joska, Kamulu. Tukapata nyumba pale Transami courtesy of nyina wa ciana. We got 4th floor of a flat ilikua na mabedsitter tupu… Shida yangu kubwa ilikua nitamwaga wapi maji ya sufuria ya ugali…the villager in me got schooled by you.

And years later, the fella has not only made her proud with her success but has proven the hardships were not for nothing.

Wakavinye expressed gratitude for enjoying life with Njugush as she wrote;

”Happy 5th Anniversary to us. @blessednjugush I am blessed to be doing this thing called ‘life’ with you. Cheers to more!!!!”

After years of toiling hard together and battling numerous fights to get to the top, comedian Njugush decided to gift his wife Wakavinye an expensive German machine, just to say thank you for her unflinching support.

Born Timothy Kimani drove a sleek white brand New Mercedes Benz E series edition into their home in Ruiru, romantically wrapped with a red ribbon to the front, and quite excited to show his wife the miles he can go just to make her happy. A sharply dressed Njugush quickly jumped out of the new ride calling out Cele’s name “Wakavinye, I want to upgrade you…”.

Celestine, who was not welcoming of her husband’s loud noises, was soon after blindfolded and slowly walked to her new surprise. Njugush was like; “I won’t take a lot of your time. You have been with me through all the hard times and 1..2…are you ready?”

A casually dressed Cele, known for her calm and never surprised reactions, bluntly asked an intoxicated Njugush; “Are you serious?”

There and then, after receiving confirmation that it was indeed a reality, a dumbfound Wakavinye went ahead to touch and walk around her new ride, before jumping in and asking for the keys, to give it a road test as she preps to enjoy many more rides with it.

Taken for a ride?

Only for her comedian husband to change tune and instead say he meant the gift was inside the car and not that he had bought her a new ride. A quick glance at the gift and it was nothing but tissue rolls.

You don’t want to imagine what happened to Njugush thereafter but Celestine taught him a good lesson!

Fans who thought Njugush must have been God-sent for a dear Cele, felt utterly disappointed and taken for a ride after realizing this was but a tissue ad.
