Bien discloses his supportive parenting style with Chiki Kuruka, his spouse

Sauti Sol’s Bien-Aimé Baraza has expressed his commitment to fatherhood and his supportive stance towards wife Chiki Kuruka in raising their children.

The celebrated musician emphasized his dedication to prioritizing family above all else, illustrating a modern approach to parenting that transcends traditional gender roles.

“If I had kids in the future, I can decide to take a gap year from music to take care of my kids. In my journey of life, I see it as a better option to prioritize caring for my children,” expressed Bien.

Dispelling notions of masculinity tied to conventional gender roles, Bien reiterated his willingness to embrace being a stay-at-home dad if his wife, Chiki, chose to continue with her career.

“If my wife decided to work and I am supposed to stay at home and look after the kids, raising children is a career. Being a stay-at-home parent involves instilling ethics and nurturing the kids—it’s a full-time job,” he said.

The couple, Chiki and Bien, exchanged vows in March 2020, marking a new chapter in their journey together.

Chiki, in a previous interview, candidly addressed societal pressure surrounding childbirth, cautioning against the undue burden placed on women.

“I think we need to be really careful about putting undue pressure on women to have children,” she said.

Highlighting the sensitivity of the topic, Chiki emphasized the various health challenges some women face, urging for empathy and understanding.

“There are so many women who are unable to give birth, and that’s such a trigger,” she said.

“If you happen to be one of those people unable to give birth and constantly on your feed, ‘When are you giving birth…?’ I’m not saying that’s my particular status, but people need to be careful how they throw that out there.”

Chiki said she has a supportive extended family.

“My in-laws are amazing, so it doesn’t bother me,” she added.

Why Bien no longer wears his wedding ring

We all know that Sauti Sol’s singer Bien Aime is married to one Chiki Kuruka, a petite lass he had been dating for years before putting a ring on it.

Well…these two appear to be the perfect match especially looking at their physical features; and their connection – also explains how they relate and above all there’s freedom and space in their relationship.

Yes freedom. You see, a while Bien hinted that he would be okay to have an open marriage – allowing wife to mingle with other people as he does the same – just to keep things interesting for their marriage.

And I’m here like……Kwani niko nchi ingine? I mean, everyone I know prefers cheating on the down low. I don’t know whether it’s because the thought of getting caught gives them some good rush; or because it’s like playing hide and seek with a grown up – more of like narcissistic trait – but most prefer hiding.

However this is not the reason why Bien Aime has been walking around without his wedding ring. For those who had not noticed – turns out that the Sauti Sol singer replaced his wedding ring; with a tattoo after losing his wedding ring awhile back.

Speaking to SPM buzz, Bien revealed that he misplaced the ring and although he tried looking for it; he finally gave up and decided to settle for a permanent solution – a tattoo that he won’t worry about losing.

Chiki Kuruka addresses rumors linking her to Makena Njeri

For the past few days Makena Njeri has been trending, thanks to Michelle Ntalami who exposed for being a serial cheater. Well, we can’t really say Michelle Ntalami’s post had any malicious intentions (Ooliskia wapi) since her aim was just to set the record straight for her online in-laws. No?

Anyway as seen on 3 page detailed posts, Michelle Ntalami explained how she got betrayed by 2 close friends who were involved with Makena behind her back.

One of the ladies was indentified as a gynecologist while the other one remained anonymous for a while; before fans started pointing fingers at Chiki Kuruka.

According to most fans, it seemed obvious that woman B is Chiki Kuruka that is judging from her closeness with Makena Njeri. Also, having been identified as a Queer by Chimano, this somehow made sense. Right?

However having seen how fans are dragging her name in the scandal yet she’s married to Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime, Ms Chiki had no option but to share her side of the story.

This is after a fan went on to ask Chiki,

To which Chiki Kuruka responded by saying;

I would normally ignore this. But I guess I have time right now. Let’s do this let’s tag the people you’re chatting about because as far as I’m aware @Michelle. Instead I have ALWAYS given my support to a community that I greatly love and respect.

As Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime Baraza gets back on his feet after his battle with COVID-19, Chiki Kuruka spared the moment to celebrate a dear friend.

One whose shoulder she used to cry on and laugh on, the man who introduced her to her husband, Emmanuel Jambo.

The two go back in time, long enough to have been the link between Bien Aime and Chiki. A time she had flown from the UK into Kenya to attend a concert that blessed her with a husband.

Chiki’s open letter

“Dear Emmanuel Jambo, you are the force behind so much of what is my life. I have cried to you countless times, and laughed with you even more,” her open letter starts off.

A man who went beyond her expectations.

“You introduced me to my husband, you drove me for hours to find my dog, you found us our house.”

It has been a blend of love, admiration, respect and excitement as she looks back and gets lost of words.

“You are to me, the definition of goodness in this world. And to say I love you doesn’t even come close to the admiration I have for your heart, the respect I have for your soul,” Chiki adored.

As she sweetly wishes her dear friend a happy new chapter in his life, to which he beautifully responds;

“Chiki Kuruka I don’t know about the awful dancing but I know that I love you my G ❤️????????.”

Bien’s battle with the virus has opened his eyes more, learning to cherish the little moments he gets to spend with those dear to his heart.

And together with Chiki travelled to Nanyuki, where they were spotted making good memories, while declaring he’s return to duty.

“Had the most amazing weekend thanks to my amazing wife and friends. Ready to get back to work.”

Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime speaks after testing positive for COVID-19

Popular Kenyan boy band group Sauti Sol woke up to sad news after their lead singer, Bien-Aime Alusa Baraza tested positive for Coronavirus, just before their much-awaited performance.

If you had been following closely, ever since Corona invaded the country, the music group had always expressed caution with COVID-19 measures.

The boys even had tests run for the 6 of them including their two signees, Nviiri the Storyteller and Bensoul, before going into isolation to focus on their music and map a way forward.

COVID-19 hits home

Unfortunately, the virus still did not spare them after Bien’s test results came back positive last week.

Speaking to a local publication, the artist revealed they had been scheduled for a performance in Uganda last week on Thursday.

But before then, he started having fever, joint aches and eye problems and thought it wise to seek medical attention.

“For the last couple of days, I have been indoors. I started feeling weak and so I decided since I was travelling to Uganda, I needed the tests done before. Only for me to test positive.”

Forcing him to go into quarantine to avoid spreading it to loved ones but cautioned;

“Corona will get anyone so long as we do not adhere to the said measures.”

Unfortunately, contracting the virus has come with its own baggage especially financially as he complains of the expensive treatment bills he has had to foot and still is.

“I feel the treatment is very expensive even for me. I have used KSh8k on medicine alone. Our healthcare system has not cushioned us. So once it gets to you, you may end up spending too much from your pockets. It could be worse since it could even kill you.”

Bien believes that everyone has the chance to save themselves not just the pain of contracting the virus but the financial load it comes a long with it.

Good news however is, his beloved, Chiki Kuruka tested negative from the virus.

Teary moments as Chiki Kuruka quits Vybez radio

Chiki Kuruka, Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime’s wife has quit Vybez radio, barely an year after she joined the team.

In an emotional post online, the Nigerian babe admitted it was not an easy decision to make nor even to announce to die-hard fans that she was leaving; a beautiful bond they created in the last one year but it was just time to say goodbye.

For her, the vision she has of the future is her driving force. Eager to see all black people collaborate, exchange and make money together.

The idea that a small gadget like a phone can be transformed into almost an entire media house is thrilling for her. She however failed to disclose her next moves just yet, waiting to ponder over it and have a little break before she makes her comeback.

Hoping that when the time comes, fans will be able to understand why she had to make the difficult move and why her future is so bright.

I am passionate about bridging the gap between Carribean music and African music, so that we can be more of a global force. I’m not going to announce whats coming next just yet, because I need to to SLEEP, and take a little break.

Nazizi’s teary message to Chiki

Chiki’s untimely exit leaves her dear co-host, Nazizi to run the show by herself, something that has left the renowned reggae queen unable to hold back the rising emotions in her.

“???????? will miss u mama but I know you’re onto big things ???????? lotsa love” emotionally penned Nazizi.

Sharing a throwback photo of when the two started around August 2019, at Standard’s newly launched reggae station, Vybez radio and through it, a friendship grew.

“This girl is the only one who bothered to organise something for me on my birthday regardless of COVID-19! You are awesome!” sweetly gushed Nazizi.

Chiki Kuruka has made it clear that being married into the Baraza family might have been one of the best decisions she ever made in her life.

The Nigerian-Swiss babe confirmed the claims in a recent photo shared online that had her beautifully cross arms with her father-in-law across each others’ shoulders, which was pretty adorable.

Knowing the natural dad-daughter bond that lives to be told to date, it seems Mr Baraza had whole-heartedly taken in Chiki as his own daughter, which the light-skin babe wholesomely accepted.

“Sometimes you marry into a family that makes your smile grow wider,” captioned Chiki.

From his end, Bien who had spared the weekend to visit his dad back at home admitted that he had not laughed that much in a while.

“Sunday with my loves. My dad is a comedian. Haven’t laughed like that in a while. Family over everything,” sweetly captioned Bien.

Culture clash

However, fans with differing opinions about how close a daughter and her father-in-law should be, became the topic of discussion. According to one fan, @ednaliaka, the Luhya tradition would never allow a daughter and her dad-in law to come that close let alone touch.

In luhya tradition, father in law should never stand next to “leave alone touching” his daughter in law….luhya council of elders are calling you hapo nyuma ya tent. A sheep has to die for cleansing????????????????????

Being of Luhya descent, Bien who had been urged to call for a cleansing ceremony responded:

This is such a heartwarming picture. In my culture Father in law and daughter in law aren’t allowed to even touch like that (a disturbing restriction if you ask me). So this has been utterly refreshing to see???????? that other African cultures don’t comform to that weird nuance.

I guess we never miss the waters till the well runs dry and we never see the storm coming until the strong wind starts to blow. Phrases that remain inked in Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime Baraza’s mind forever after his family suddenly moved from grace to grass.

Bien Aime Baraza and his siblings grew up with a silver spoon for a better part of their childhood. Living a life that many would term ‘privilege’ in Nairobi’s lush neighborhood of Kilimani, rubbing shoulders with the who’s who, because that was their standard life.

His dad’s home would be mistaken for that of a politician or local chief at the time, because for majority of the underprivileged around their neighborhood, they knew Bien’s dad was the go-to person be it bursaries, be it handouts, their home housed many strangers.

Not until life hit them from a different angle.

The steep downward slope

Narrating his ordeal through their YouTube channel Engage Talk, Bien recalled how his dad lost his job in 2000 and his mom got retrenched same time. That translated into one thing; life was never going to be the same again.

Bien and his sister had to leave the posh school. The family had to move to a smaller house, change their diet and lifestyle because that was what his dad’s savings could afford them. It got to a point they could no longer afford to pay rent in their new house and had to move out to their unfinished building of a house, for shelter.

It came from the tasty recipes and dishes to an everyday menu of githeri. That never felt any good for Bien and his siblings. Despite the numerous applications his parents would send out month in, month out, the responses were the same “we regret.”

It became a ritual until they stopped sending applications. His parents had given up. Bien’s once all adorable, breathtaking mother was reduced to a mom who would light the firewood to boil maize and beans for her family every evening. Life completely changed forever.

Despite the major blow, his overturned childhood has taught him lessons for life; to keep his circle small, to save every little coin, to love back those that love him and always to wake up before the sunrise to toil because he never wants to go back there again! Listen to his story;

Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime has come out to reveal why he held a private wedding. Being one of the most loved and celebrated Kenyan artist; definitely many would have loved to witness his union, but unfortunately this was a private affair.

This comes a few months after the singer walked down the aisle with his long term girlfriend, Chiki Kuruka. According to reports this was a low key wedding that saw family and friends attend. Speaking to Massawe Jappani just recently, Bien for the first disclosed unknown information about his wedding.

Unlike what many know, Bien held a private AG wedding since he did not want something extra; luckily for him, his bride Chiki was also on board with this idea – making it easier for the singer.

He went on to mention the main reason for keeping his wedding photos private saying;

Hizo picha sijaziweka wazi kwa sababu, Harusi yangu first of all haikuwa harusi ya Kawaida. Nilienda kwa AG, na after kwenda kwa AG; nilifanya tu lunch ndogo nikainvite tu marafiki zangu wa karibu tukala lunch. Hiyo vibe ambayo ilikuwa hapo ile siku, ilikuwa the happiest day of my life, sijapata kufeel hiyo kitu siku nyingine, pahali pengine popote.

No suits, No wedding gown

About his outfit of the day, Bien revealed that he wore no suit; something that would leave fans questioning him, if he decided to upload the photos. He went on to add;

Na nikipiga picha niwekee mtandaoni, mtu ambaye anaangalia hiyo picha haelewi circumstances; haelewi contexts ya kwa nini watu wamevaa vile wamevaa. Haelewi mbona hii harusi haina Bibi harusi mwenye amevaa nguo sijui inakaa aje. Haelewi mbona Bien hajavaa suti.

He went on to add that he does not wish to have a bitter exchange with some of his shallow minded social media friends saying;

“Sitaki kupatia watu wajinga nafasi ya kupeana maoni yao kuhusu Harusi yangu. Kwa hivyo nikajiwekea hiyo siku; ndo nisijiharibie hiyo siku na comments za watu. Staki ufala, mimi vitu zangu ni vitu zangu na nilienjoy sana hiyo siku. Nikiweka huku njee watu waanze kuweka comments zao; mimi hukuwa mtu ambaye na-catch feelings Haraka sana. Latest married celebrity couple, Bien Aime Baraza and Chiki Kuruka had their lowkey wedding go down on the 6th of March and they are back from their ´honeymoon.´

Bien has been silent on social media since the 29th of February but Chiki has been active – just not with updates on their wedding.

None of them is yet to put up anything to do with their wedding – no rings, no wedding gown and anything else you can think about when a wedding is going down.

The couple concluded their wedding reception with a trip to Masai Mara for a good 5 days, away and alone.

However, Chiki was quick to update fans about their return.

Sharing a photo of the newly weds , tongues out and smiles deep within, Chiki announced:

Back from the best trip ever! Now on to the next journey…… life ❤

Up on her Insta stories, the radio presenter penned:

Your relationship doesn´t need to make sense to anyone, except you and your partner. It´s a relationship. Not a community project.

Affirming that a relationship is a covenant between two and not inclusive of outside forces.

Chiki tried comparing societal pressure about relationships, with wearing ´unbranded and cheap clothes´ which does not necessarily imply you are ´poor.

Wearing unbranded and cheap clothes doesn´t mean you are poor.

This is after a Vblogger from Zumi Kenya went on to laugh off at the fact that Tanasha did not get a ring from her Bongo boyfriend.

The young lady went on to claim that Tanasha should have been wiser and not follow the footsteps of Diamond Platnumz exes who also never got anywhere with the singer.

Wedding bells! Sauti Sol’s Bien finally proposes to his long term girlfriend

After dating for so long, Bien finally popped the big question to his girlfriend Chiki Kuruka last evening.

The news was released online by their close friends who shared a photo of Bien on one knee proposing.

Although more details about the proposal are yet to be released; the photo making rounds online proves that Chiki Kuruka was undeniably surprised and excited at the same time.

On and Off relationship

Just like most relationships; a while back, Bien and Chiki Kuruka were said to be having some relationship issues that almost saw them separate.

However, we now can now assume that these were just the normal problems every relationship usually faces.

Anyway, as for now we wait for the wedding dates to be released online; but hopefully their wedding will not be held in secret like what Sauti Sol’s fancyfingers did.

Sauti Sol’s handsome singer Bien Aime has finally hit the big 3-0! He is now living his life on a different scale and judging from his achievements, the guy must be proud of the far he has come.

Well as he celebrated his 30th birthday, his beautiful lady Chiki Kuruka a dance instructor joined the world in celebrating her man’s day. Through her Instagram page, Chiki shared a stunning photo with her man which she captioned saying;

Sometimes in life you meet someone special and from the first second you just know….’ To the one that makes my heart sing. Happy 30th x

Though they no longer parade their love on social media like before, truth is that they are still together.

Well, it’s not yet official as to whether the two have any plans of getting married but they definitely look amazing together!

Bien Aime has been dating his half Caucasian girlfriend, Chiki for about 2 years now and word on the streets is that the two are currently facing a few issues in their relationship – that is if it’s not over already.

Seems that their plans of living together have also backfired after cohabiting for a while now and word has it that Miss Kuruka was asked to find her own apartment in order to create some space between her and Bien since he is a busy artist and one who needs not to deal with the ‘pressure’ he is getting from his woman as revealed by our close and reliable sources.

Our source goes further to reveal that the couple needed space from each other to create room for their love to keep burning now that things between them were starting to get a bit too much.
