DJ Fatxo Denies Ghetto Radio’s Allegations of Interview Cancellation

Popular Mugithi singer Lawrence Njuguna, better known as DJ Fatxo, has denied allegations by Ghetto Radio that they cancelled an interview with him due to numerous complaints from fans.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, the musician said that the interview was cancelled due to unavoidable traffic that caused him to be late. He condemned the radio station’s earlier statement as “misleading and ill-thought”.

“The reality is that the cancellation was a result of unavoidable traffic delays that caused DJ Fatxo to be late for the scheduled interview,” the statement read. “We, therefore, find the insinuation of that letter unwarranted and ill-thought. It is distasteful, misleading, and plainly just unfortunate.”

DJ Fatxo also denied claims that there had been public uproar over the interview. He said that there had been positive feedback from fans in the interview promotion posts shared on the radio station’s social media platforms.

“We value our fans’ support and the relationships we have built with media outlets,” the statement said. “It is essential to us that accurate information is conveyed to the public. It is the cardinal duty of the media to inform not misinform.”

Ghetto Radio has not yet responded to DJ Fatxo’s statement.

The interview was scheduled to take place on August 18th from 7 am to 8 am. The radio station had said that they were forced to cancel the interview due to an “online uproar” from their fans. However, DJ Fatxo has denied these claims.

The dispute between DJ Fatxo and Ghetto Radio is the latest in a series of controversies involving Kenyan musicians and the media. In recent years, there have been several cases of musicians being censored or having their interviews cancelled due to controversial content.

It remains to be seen how this dispute will be resolved. However, it is clear that the issue of censorship is a sensitive one in Kenya, and that musicians are increasingly speaking out against it.

Ghetto Radio cancels DJ Faxto interview after fan backlash

Ghetto Radio was forced to cancel a planned interview with Mugithi artist DJ Faxto after facing backlash from fans.

The radio station had announced that they would be hosting the artist on their morning show on August 18th, but many fans were unhappy with the decision.

Some fans felt that it was inappropriate to give DJ Faxto a platform, given that he had been accused of the murder of interior designer Jeff Mwathi. DJ Faxto was never charged with the crime, but he was still considered a suspect by many people.

Other fans were simply not interested in hearing from DJ Faxto. They felt that he was not a good role model and that his music was not appropriate for the radio station’s audience.

In the end, Ghetto Radio decided to cancel the interview in order to avoid further backlash from fans. The station issued a statement saying that they valued their listeners and that they came first.

DJ Faxto has not yet commented on the cancellation of the interview.

It is unclear whether DJ Faxto will ever be able to repair his public image. He has been accused of murder, and even though he was never charged, many people still believe that he is guilty. It is also possible that the cancellation of the interview will damage his career.

Only time will tell how this situation will play out.

Shocking revelation alleges Jeff Mwathi had attempted suicide twice before meeting his death

According to testimony given in court in Nairobi, Jeff Mwathi attempted suicide twice before his death on February 23.

Jeff’s uncle Muchoki Mwathi denied claims that Jeff committed suicide on the stand on Thursday.

Muchoki’s testimony was guided by attorney Danstan Omari.

He insisted that, in addition to being his uncle, the Jeff he knew was also a very good friend of mine.

“From the video, I saw Jeff’s body was discovered after Fatxo left an hour or so later. As a family we have lost a son who had a bright future ahead of him,” Muchoki testified before Milimani principal magistrate Zainab Abdul.

Attorney Duncan Okatch for Fatxo attempted to convince the judge that Jeff was suicidal as a result of his parents’ strained relationship.

Muchoki claimed he didn’t think it had any impact on him.

The attorney continued by saying that there are witnesses who will attest that Jeff wanted to end his life because of the contentious relationship between his parents.

Muchoki claimed that while he was unaware of Jeff’s friendship with DJ Fatxo, he did once inform the latter that they were meant to work together to design a shop after Fatxo had given him the task.

“I was told that Jeff died in Fatxo’s house but in my opinion, he could not have jumped from the window unless he was forced through,”

Muchoki continued to testify before the court, saying that when he visited Fatxo’s home, no one from the crime scene had taken up residence there.

“I was shown the video and in my view, Jeff did not commit suicide,”

He claimed that in the past, Jeff would become anxious, especially after drinking, and would carry a knife and make suicide threats.

Since he was never stressed, Muchoki claimed it was a falsehood.

Okatch emphasized that at the time of his death, Jeff was lacking even a belt and his undergarments.

Muchoki said in court that he first resided in the village with his nephew Jeff before moving to Nairobi to live with his younger brother John Kirumba.

“On February 22, 2023, I got a phone call from John at around 5:20pm informing me that he was tensed because Jeff was not answering calls, he told me that he was called by Jeff’s girlfriend Faith Wairimu telling him that she was called by Faith Mutanu asking her if Jeff got home”

Faith, Jeff’s girlfriend, had inquired as to what to do after failing to locate Jeff at home.

Later, he learned that he had passed away at Lawrence Njuguna’s (DJ Fatxo) home. The victims in this case are being represented by attorney Charles Mugane.

34 additional witnesses will be called by the state to testify at the inquest.

On November 1, the hearing will go on.

DJ Fatxo Shares Plans to Relocate to UK, Forgives Accusers

Mugithi musician DJ Fatxo has shared his plans to relocate to the UK, after recently changing his management to a UK-based company.

Speaking to local bloggers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Fatxo said that he is still working with his Kenyan management, but he feels that the UK is the best place for him to take his career to the next level.

“I have always wanted to be an international artist,” he said. “I feel like the UK is the perfect place for me to do that.”

Fatxo also spoke about the recent accusations that he was involved in the death of interior designer Jeff Mwathi. He was acquitted of murder charges in February, and he said that he has forgiven those who accused him.

“I am not the first person to be hated,” he said. “I am a forgiving person, and I let go and let God.”

Fatxo said that he is grateful for the support of his fans, and he is excited to start this new chapter in his career.

“I am ready to take my music to the world,” he said. “I am going to work hard and make Kenya proud.”

DJ Fatxo Breaks Stereotypes By Getting His Ears Pierced

DJ Fatxo, a Mugithi artist, has broken stereotypes by getting his ears pierced. In an interview with Obinna on his Kula Cooler show, Fatxo said that he had never gotten a tattoo or had his ears pierced before because of his upbringing in a deeply religious family.

Fatxo said that he was aware of the stereotype that men who have their ears pierced are gay, and he made the decision to avoid being categorized as gay during that period. However, he said that he has since come to realize that this stereotype is not true, and that there are many heterosexual men who have their ears pierced.

“I got my ears pierced because I wanted to express myself,” Fatxo said. “I didn’t want to be limited by stereotypes. I wanted to be able to wear what I wanted and do what I wanted without worrying about what other people thought.”

Fatxo’s decision to get his ears pierced has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have praised him for breaking stereotypes, while others have criticized him for going against his religious beliefs. However, Fatxo said that he is not concerned about the negative reactions. He said that he is happy with his decision, and that he is not going to let anyone else dictate how he should express himself.

“I’m not worried about what other people think,” Fatxo said. “I’m just doing what makes me happy.”

Fatxo’s decision to get his ears pierced is a powerful statement against stereotypes. It shows that people should not be judged based on their appearance, and that everyone should be free to express themselves however they want.

Mugiithi artiste DJ Fatxo has denied any connection to a powerful female politician amid ongoing rumors and allegations surrounding the murder of Jeff Mwathi.

The popular musician opened up about the impact these allegations have had on his career.

“I have been canceled for so many shows outside the country after this whole saga,” he said. “I also need time to strategize.”

Despite his fame, the artiste admitted that his music has suffered immensely and he hasn’t received any income for the past three months.

However, he remains optimistic and determined to come back stronger than ever.

“We do not have a close relationship,” he clarified. “And she has not bought me any vehicles.”

DJ Fatxo went on to mention that he still owes money to Car Soko, highlighting his financial struggles despite his superstar status.

“I am not as rich as people think I am,” he said. “I am just a hard-working musician trying to make a living.”

DJ Fatxo’s denials come as the police continue to investigate the murder of Jeff Mwathi. No arrests have been made in the case.

The allegations against DJ Fatxo have cast a shadow over his career, but he remains determined to clear his name and rebuild his reputation.

“I am innocent,” he said. “And I will prove it.”

Jeff Mwathi’s Mother Blasts Local Musicians and Pastors for Protecting DJ Fatxo

The mother of Jeff Mwathi, who died under mysterious circumstances, has accused local musicians and pastors of protecting Mugiithi artiste DJ Fatxo, who is allegedly involved in her son’s death.

Anne Wacuka, who has been vocal in her quest for justice for her son, took to TikTok Live to express her frustration hours after DJ Fatxo gave a radio interview.

In the video, Wacuka directly addressed the musicians and pastors, urging them to come out in support of her rather than remaining silent or neutral. She also questioned their motives and challenged their actions.

“You could have just come out and said you were supporting him,” Wacuka said. “You were neither on this side or the other side.”

Wacuka also criticized the musicians and pastors for allegedly meeting in secret and making financial contributions at night. She contrasted this with the transparency of the support she has received from her friends abroad.

Wacuka called on the musicians and pastors to prioritize prayers for the nation rather than shielding DJ Fatxo. She also questioned the authenticity of their actions and urged them to show their support openly and without hesitation.

“Only a few artistes posted my son and spoke about his justice,” Wacuka said. “All the others were hiding. I would wish they were real rather than hiding in the gospel and music industry. Support your person without hiding.”

Wacuka emphasized her desire to uncover the truth behind her son’s death, demanding justice and closure.

“I want to know who killed my son,” she said. “I want justice for my son.”

The grieving mother continues to seek answers and seeks the support of the public and authorities to uncover the truth surrounding her son’s tragic demise.

Why my cousin and driver were at my house the day Jeff Mwathi died – DJ Fatxo

Jeff Mwathi had been with DJ Fatxo, Fatxo’s cousin, and their driver on the day of his death.

This was only discovered following the release of a video Jeff shot while at Fatxo’s place.

Fatxo provided an explanation for why his driver and the cousin were at his house on that critical night in an exclusive conversation with Massawe Japanni.

“They (Driver and Fatxo’s cousin) come to my place a lot.

My driver is from Kinagop where I was born and raised. He was also my schoolmate.

He was an Uber driver but lost his job, so I decided to help him by offering him a job.

Sometimes he would ask to come over to my place and just hang around and I couldn’t say no since I live alone.

By the time of the incident, I had only stayed for three months.”

How did his cousin end up living with him?

“By the time the incident happened my cousin had stayed with me for a month.

I had gone home for a Cousin’s event when he approached my mum and asked her to talk to me.

He wanted me to mentor him and requested to be curtain-raising for me.

That is why I was with them most of the time.”

On February 22, 2023, Mwathi, age 23, passed away in an undetermined manner.

DJ Fatxo of Mugiithi has explained why he was unable to attend Jeff Mwathi’s funeral.

The well-known Mugiithi singer DJ Fatxo spoke candidly about skipping Jeff Mwathi’s funeral during an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo.

Fatxo voiced his apprehension about going to the funeral because of the false narrative that has been spread by bloggers and could potentially cause harm.

“My mother tried to call the family through Samidoh, (Jeff’s uncle) but the family seemed to be blocking me.”

Fatxo acknowledged that he didn’t have access to Jeff’s mother when asked if he had spoken to her personally.

Additionally, he asserted that as a result of the incident, he was refused access to Jeff’s family.

“The family has already formed their conclusion that I am responsible for their son’s demise. I have never mustered the courage to contact her. The news spread rapidly, and I am aware that she still harbors resentment.”

DJ Fatxo Gives First Performance After Being Cleared of Murder Charges

Mugithi artiste Lawrence Njuguna, popularly known as DJ Fatxo, gave his first performance on the airwaves on May 22, 2023, days after he was cleared of murder charges by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

In a TikTok video also uploaded to his official Facebook page, the Kikuyu artist can be seen performing on a local vernacular TV station, Chairman TV.

Fatxo, clad in a striking black T-shirt adorned with the powerful statement ‘In God we trust’, delves into his performance with unwavering passion.

“Since I hit the airwaves, it has been God, and it will always be God. In God We Trust,” he captioned the video.

He also wrote in Kikuyu: “Ahooiii Ngai Hoyaai Biu na mutigakue Ngoro. Ngai Ari Hamwe na ithui na ni aiguite mahoya Manyu.”

The words are loosely translated as believers in God, pray hard, and do not give up. God is with us, and he has heard our prayers.

The translated essence of his post indicates that “as believers in God, we are urged to pray fervently and persistently without faltering. We find solace in knowing that God is by our side, attentively listening to our prayers.”

In the Kikuyu song he sang, he seemed to encourage and acknowledge his mother, recalling the challenges she faced in raising them.

“Mama, when you see them, do not be afraid. Where we are now, you brought us up through struggles…eating and drinking, we survived on sugarcane juice…I don’t even want to remember the ups and downs we faced…we survived the firewood smoke…” the song goes.

DJ Fatxo was linked and accused of allegedly killing fashion designer Jeff Mwathi at his Roysambu, Kasarani flat in February 2023.

The matter caused an uproar among Kenyans online, forcing Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Amin Mohamed to take over the case.

New investigations were ordered and carried out, including exhuming the 23-year-old’s body for a second post-mortem to determine the exact cause of his death.

Recently, the Mugithi artist announced that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) had cleared him of the charges.

However, on May 20, 2023, Mr Njuguna was reportedly denied access to his Roysambu home by DCI detectives.

The detectives reportedly said they were investigating a case of theft at the house.

Mr Njuguna’s lawyer, Duncan Okatch, said the detectives had no warrant to search the house and that they were harassing his client.

He said he had written to the Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai, to complain about the conduct of the detectives.

The ODPP’s decision to clear DJ Fatxo of the murder charges has been welcomed by his fans and supporters.

They have taken to social media to express their joy and support for the artist.

DJ Fatxo has also thanked his fans and supporters for their prayers and support during his difficult time.

He has said that he is grateful to God for clearing his name and that he is looking forward to getting back to his music career.

DJ Fatxo Denies LGBTQ Allegations

Renowned Mugiithi artiste Lawrence Njuguna, popularly known as DJ Fatxo, has denied allegations that he is a member of the LGBTQ community and that he was involved in the death of designer Jeff Mwathi.

Mwathi died on February 22, 2023, after falling from the 12th floor of Redwood Apartments in Kasarani, where DJ Fatxo lives. The two had been friends for several years.

In an interview with Nairobi News, DJ Fatxo said he was shocked by the allegations and that he had never been involved in any homosexual activity. He also denied bribing the authorities to cover up his involvement in Mwathi’s death.

“I did not expect to face further allegations after all the investigations that have been done,” he said. “People are saying that I bribed influential people. How much money do they think I have? If I were financially able, would I be living in a rented house? I would have my own house.”

DJ Fatxo also said that he was saddened by the death of his friend and that he had nothing to do with it. He said that he had invited Mwathi to his home as a gesture of love and care.

“I thought inviting him into my home was an act of pure love and care for a friend who lived far away,” he said. “They should not rely solely on the narrative circulating online, but see the genuine affection I had for him.”

DJ Fatxo’s denials have been met with mixed reactions. Some people have expressed support for him, while others have continued to believe the allegations.

He enjoyed my company – DJ Fatxo says of Jeff Mwathi

Just hours before his body flew from his 10th-floor apartment in Kasarani, Mugithi star DJ Fatxo described Jeff Mwathi’s final moments in his presence.

When Fatxo was recounting the circumstances leading up to the horrible tragedy on February 23, he mentioned spending the day with Jeff, whose death he was accused of being responsible for after he passed away at home. Since he was given justice in the death, Fatxo is now recounting how he spent the day with Jeff in his first-ever interview.

The musician claimed he first saw Jeff in order to have him design his store, but the meeting on February 23 did not go as planned since Jeff was concerned with other deals he was attempting to close.

“As we were hanging out, he told me that he was happy to spend time with me. I understood him because when I was his age, I liked hanging out with celebrities,”

Before leaving for home in the early hours of the morning, according to the DJ, they visited a number of entertainment venues. He said he was pleased to spend time with me as we were hanging out. Because I liked hanging out with celebrities when I was his age, I could relate to him, Fatxo remarked in an interview with Radio Maisha.

Mugithi artist DJ Fatxo has alleged that his life is in danger after he was denied access to his house on the night of Saturday, May 20.

In a video shared on Instagram by SPM Buzz, the singer can be seen trying to access his house, but he is unsuccessful. The management of the building has not revealed why DJ Fatxo was denied access, but it is assumed that it is due to the bad publicity that has surrounded the death of his friend, Jeff Mwathi.

Mwathi died on May 19 after falling from the 10th floor of the building where DJ Fatxo lives. The cause of his death has not been released, but police have said that they do not suspect foul play.

“I’m a God-fearing person,” he said in an interview. “We have a law and I think when it gets to this point, somebody should be guided. I don’t want all this drama. I feel my life is threatened and still somebody is keeping me out of my house from 7 pm to midnight. It is not fair to me.”

It is unclear what will happen next for DJ Fatxo. He has said that he is considering legal action against the management of the building. He has also said that he is seeking counseling to deal with the stress of the situation.

DJ Fatxo and Jeff Mwathi were friends. They had been out drinking on the night that Mwathi died. On coming back to the building, Mwathi’s body was found at the bottom of the 10th floor. It was alleged that he had taken his own life, but many people doubted this.

Days after Mwathi’s death, DJ Fatxo was cleared of any involvement in his death by the DCI. However, he has continued to be the subject of speculation and rumors. He has said that he is tired of the conflict and that he feels his life is in danger.

What’s next?

DPP recommends Jeff Mwathi mystery death inquest

An inquest into the death of Jeff Mwathi is expected to be recommended by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mwathi was discovered dead at an apartment complex DJ Fatxo’s Kasarani resides at. This follows news that the courts had exonerated the Dj in the matter pertaining to Jeff Mwathi’s mysterious death.

More to follow as the situation evolves.

Mixed reactions from Kenyans greet news of DJ Fatxo exoneration

Some Kenyans are ecstatic, others are livid about the fact that DJ Fatxo has been exonerated by the court with regard to his involvement in the mysterious death of Jeff Mwathi.

The latter met his untimely end after a night out partying with the DJ and his entrance following their successful coming to terms on a deal that would see Jeff do interior design for the DJ’s business premises.

Some Kenyans see this as a win for DJ Fatxo are they see God’s hand in his vindication after his name was dragged through the mud in connection to the horrific manner in which Jeff met his death.

An entirely different group of Kenyans see this as a miscarriage of Justice arguing that it is proof that the Kenyan judicial system is set up to favour anyone with money.

Check out the mixed reactions below:

God has done it for you mwana wa mutumia
Watu si wajinga.. we know our justice system is messed up and blinded by money, and we are aware that you know people who know the who is who in this society, that is why you seem untouchable. Court exonerates DJ Fatxo! And he finally responds to Kenyans

DJ Fatxo has finally been exonerated by the courts as they declared the lack of sufficient evidence to tie the Kikuyu music artist and DJ to the mysterious death of Jeff Mwathi.

He had a statement for his fans and Kenyans in general. Taking to his social media account he said:

Dear fans, Followers & The General Public.

I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to address the recent allegations that have been circulating about me and my involvement in the death of my friend Jeff Mwathi.

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest sympathies to Jeff’s family and friends, and to anyone else who has been affected by this situation. I know that this has been a difficult time for many people, and I want to acknowledge the pain and hurt that has been caused by these accusations.

I also want to take this opportunity to clear my name and to assure you all that I have been found not guilty after thorough investigations by the DCI detectives and the ODPP. While I am relieved to have this behind me, I know that there are still people who may be struggling with feelings of anger, frustration, and disappointment.

I want to use this situation to remind all of us of the importance of not jumping to conclusions or cyberbullying anyone based on mere accusations or hearsay stories. As many of you know, I have gone through a very difficult period both emotionally and physically, and I know firsthand how damaging and hurtful it can be to be on the receiving end of false accusations and cyberbullying.

Let’s all take a moment to reflect on how we can be more compassionate, understanding, and respectful towards each other. I understand that this situation may have been difficult for some of you, and I want to encourage everyone to seek out the facts and to approach this situation with an open mind and a compassionate heart. Let’s use this situation as an opportunity to come together, to learn from each other, and to grow as individuals and as a community.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I hope that we can all move forward with grace and love.

Sincerely,
Lawrence Wagura (DJ Fatxo)

The family of the late Jeff to has spoken up on the matter and refused to accept the findings of the DCI investigation with several celebrities wading into the matter to advise them against taking such a stance.

Do you agree with Jeff Mwathi’s family or DCI?

Jeff Mwathi’s family has come out to reject the report issued by the DCI who were investigating the death of their son. The police were looking into his mysterious death which occurred after he had gone out for merriment with DJ Fatxo and his cohort.

Jeff, a young enterpreneur and interior designer had been approached by DJ Fatxo to redesign his office and they indeed agreed to do business together and he even reported back the same to his mother.

Unfortunately, he met his demise when they returned to DJ Fatxo’s abode and therein lies the mystery. After a botched first round of investigations, Jeff Mwathi was quickly buried and later exhumed but as anyone with common sense knows, this coupled with the embalming process would have servely compromised any evidence.

Police hint at not having adequate evidence against DJ Fatxo

DJ Fatxo on his part was steadfast in his denial of any involvement or wrongdoing when it came to the death of the young man. And he seems to have been vindicated according to the DCI findings.

But who do you support? Jeff Mwathi’s family who say there was foul play in the investigation or do you believe the DCI did their level best on this matter?

DJ Fatxo and his girlfriend celebrate his birthday

And as we have been saying all along we should all remember when discussing the intriguing case that Fatxo is innocent until proven guilty. Assumption of innocence is a MainStay of our judicial process with good reason.

The DJ decided to celebrate the news at KAG Church Engineer (Kenya Assemblies of God). And you can check out how that went below:
