Eric Omondi is back at imitating his Bongo hero, Diamond Platnumz. This time around the comedian braided his hair giving many a reason to question whether he is okay.

Not being the first time Eric is seen walking in Diamond Platnumz shoes, having his braided hair like a lady’s is the problem.

Of course his aim was to entertain but most of his fans did not find it amusing however there are those who couldn’t help but laugh it off.

Comedian Eric Omondi formally proposed to his Kenyan-Italian girlfriend Chantal Grazioli while on a Valentine’s Day getaway on February 14th 2016.

It’s has been two years since Eric went down on his knee and asked for Chantal’s hand in marriage. Concerned fans have been on Eric’s case pestering him to marry Chantal.

Eric Omondi slammed fans pestering him to marry Chantal during an interview with Nairobi News. The comedian said those who desperately want to see him walk down the aisle should instead watch wedding shows on TV.

It’s the darkest month of 2018! Eric Omondi’s family buries another kin

Eric Omondi lost his elder brother Joseph Omondi a week on Tuesday after a long battle with drugs. The comedian had only found his brother a day before he passed on.

Eric traced his late brother in downtown Nairobi along Nyandarua Road through the help of a taxi driver and posted the video of the incident on his social media platforms.

He revealed that Joseph had been doing drugs for close to two decades. Joseph was finally buried on June 22nd in Ugenya, Siaya County.

Double tragedy

Eric’s family lost another kin at the same time Joseph died. The comedian’s sister Irene Omondi revealed that their cousin Kenedy Otieno Ndenga was also buried at the same time their brother was buried.

“This month is one of the Darkest month of my 2018. Having 2 funerals at the same time . R.I.P Our Headboy Joseph Onyango Omondi and my Cousin Kenedy Otieno Ndenga ?,” wrote Irene on social media.

Eric Omondi’s brother dies a few hours after being introduced by the comedian

Eric Omondi is mourning the death of his elder brother Joseph Onyango Omondi. The comedian had only introduced his brother the the public a few hours before he passed on.

Eric took to Instagram to address the drug menace that has been destroying the youths, sharing a clip of his blood bother who has been crippled by the substances.

Cocaine addict

Eric says his brother was addicted to hard drugs including cocaine. The comedian further reveals that the deceased had been in and out of rehab for the past 19 years.

“This is not the last image I would have wanted to post of my brother… But this is definitely the image I want every young person in this Country to see!!! Joseph Onyango Omondi passed on this morning around 3am, barely 12 hours after I found him in Downton River Road. Comedian Eric Omondi and his fiancee Chantal Grazioli have once again set tongues wagging after they showed off a palatial mansion.

Eric Omondi is among a few Kenyan celebs who own property. The comedian has constructed two rental apartment blocks in his parcel of land in Kisumu city.

Another marketing gimmick?

Eric took to social media to flaunt a mega mansion in Nairobi which he claims belongs to her sweetheart Chantal Grazioli. He says his fiancee is renting the house and even offered phone number for potential customers to contact her.

Most people however refuse to be taken for a ride by Eric this time round. The comedian has been involved in multiple marketing stunts in which he claimed some things are his just to market brands.

Heavy downpour wrecked havoc in Athi River on Thursday March 15th. Massive water flooded several houses in a gated community where Jaguar and Eric Omondi stay.

Mto wa Mawe River burst its banks after heavy rains on Thursday rendering part of Mombasa Road impassable. The Nairobi-Mombasa highway was closed at Athi River after a bridge was submerged in the water following the heavy rains.

Green Park Estate

The perimeter wall of Green Park Estate in Athi River was destroyed by the flood water. Jaguar an Eric Omondi live in the upmarket estate.

Several houses at the Green Park estate which is just along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway were flooded. Photos of the estate after the flash flood reveal the massive water quantity that ran through residents’ houses.

Njoki Chege says those criticizing Eric Omondi over his video are people whose minds are in the gutter. She states that critics chose to sexualize the comedian’s video.

Video of Eric Omondi swimming naked with children in Turkana sparked condemnation from all quarters. However a few have stood firm to defend the comedian.

Njoki Chege says Eric ought not to have apologized to anyone. She explains that the comedian was just exploring his creativity.

“Eric, I have news for you. You did not have to apologise. I am going to be one of the people who will say this, the comedian did nothing wrong. Let us first get a few facts right before I can make my argument. Eric is a great young man, with a fine, creative head on his shoulders. He is, by any standards, a successful man, one of the few Kenyan comedians who are actually funny. He is creative, ever churning well-thought out and brilliantly executed comedy videos,” wrote Njoki Chege.

Njoki further says that those throwing shades at Eric are only doing so blindly. She explains that Eric’s video was an effort to parody a scene from ‘The God’s Must Be Crazy’ movie.

“Those criticising him are mostly people whose minds are in the gutter, whose hearts are so carnal, that they sexualise everything and anything without considering the context. Omondi’s video was an effort to parody a scene from the film The God’s Must Be Crazy. His video is also reminiscent of the good old days when naughty boys would toss their clothes in the bush and jump in the river for a quick dip and their cheeky friends would hide their clothes. Omondi just wanted to recreate the village life and a movie scene with an underlying theme of celebrating our African culture. He wanted to tickle us, because that is what comedians do. They strive to make us laugh, and that is perhaps one of the toughest jobs on earth.”

 

 

 

“I counseled him as a father” Ezekiel Mutua reveals what he discussed with Eric Omondi before he left for US

Ezekiel Mutua is now mentoring Eric Omondi following his distasteful video. The moral police reveals that he had a lengthy conversation with Eric before he left for US.

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO implored parents to sue Eric Omondi the moment his video surfaced online. Eric was seen bathing completely naked with Turkana kids in a river.

Mutua says he had a lengthy telephone conversation with Eric over his video. He claims that the comedian accepted the penalties meted by the KFCB for the inappropriate video.

“Just before I left Nairobi on Thursday evening I had a lengthy telephone conversation with Eric Omondi over his error of judgement in the nude video with kids. He offered what I believe to be a sincere apology and committed to accept the penalties meted by the KFCB for the inappropriate video, even though he denies that he is the one who posted it online. Eric returned to Nairobi from Turkana on Thursday to have a meeting with me following the outrage caused by the video, but I was travelling out of the country and the meeting could not materialise. We agreed to meet when I return,” wrote Ezekiel Mutua in part.

Mutua also reveals that he counseled Eric Omondi as a father. The moral cops says that he is committed to mentoring Eric to create clean content.

“Now Eric is a gifted comedian and has been an inspiration to many upcoming stand-up comedians and creatives in general, but that video was a costly mistake. I counselled him as a father would his son and advised him to detest from such misguided notion that obscenity is the way to seek fame. We agreed to meet when I return to Kenya and resolve the matter without having to charge him in court. In fact he offered to work with us to create awareness about content regulations and sensitise his fellow artistes on the law. To err is human. Eric should know that God raised him from the gutter to international fame. He should use his talent to promote good in society. We are willing to help him get back on track. While I detest what Eric did, I forgive him at a personal level and commit to guide the mediation process and mentor him to create clean content. Content doesn’t have to be dirty to sell and Eric and other talented artistes should be role models and champions of moral values.”

Eric Omondi sparked uproar when a video of him completely naked with children surfaced online. The comedian was seen bathing with Turkana kids in a river.

Many people blame Eric Omondi but in Luo tradition there is nothing wrong with what he did. People of the same sex in Luo Nyanza bath together in rivers and lakes.

The only wrong thing Eric did was recording himself bathing with the kids and sharing the video online. The comedian has since eaten the humble pie.

Eric Omondi asserts that he did not intentionally expose his manhood to prying eyes. The comedian further reveals why he didn’t pull down the photo.

Eric caused a stir while he was on holiday in Malindi with his sweetheart Chantal Grazioli. His private part became the talk of the nation after it was seen through a short he was wearing in a photo posted on social media.

Well, apparently Eric didn’t expose his ‘transformer’ intentionally. He says that he learnt something was amiss after he got several notifications on IG on his post.

“No, it was not intentional. I had innocently posted the picture and four minutes after it went online, I noticed that I was receiving a lot of comments on it. I logged in to check the Instagram users’ feedback. It is then that I realised that a part of my manhood was showing through my pair of shorts,” said Eric Omondi in an interview with SDE.

Couldn’t reverse the damage

Eric says he wanted to delete the photo but he realized he couldn’t undo the damage. He opted to leave the photo on his timeline because it was making people laugh.

“For a moment, I was confused on what to do. I contemplated deleting the picture, but on second thought, I decided it remains on the platform. I cannot correct God’s work.

“The most private part of my body are my bones, and the whole world knows about my skinniness. I choose to overlook what online users are saying on Instagram about the controversial picture. I am a comedian; my work is to make people laugh. So long as my actions make them laugh, I am happy.”

Eric Omondi pulled off romantic masterstroke that left the whole country talking. The comedian accorded his sweetheart Chantal Grazioli a welcome party that befits a visiting head of state.

Eric Omondi erected a billboard at the exit of JKIA to welcome back his girlfriend. Chantal had been away in Italy for five months.

The lovey-dovey comedian took two months planning to welcome his sweetheart back home.  Eric says he pitched the idea to StarTimes and they were impressed with it.

“I planned the surprise for two months. I hunted for a billboard which was at an exit point from the JKIA. I needed one which was at a high traffic area. The Chinese Digital service provider had placed their advert on a billboard, which I had deemed to be on a very strategic spot. I reached out to them and they liked the idea, which saw us partnering,” said Eric.

These things are not really extraordinary

Eric urges fellow men to emulate his romantic masterstrokes. He says if men are able to spoil their sweetheart they should go ahead and do it.

“These things are not really extraordinary. If you are able to do these things, do them. I opted for the billboard placement because it is a move which, until then, had not been pulled by any couple in Kenya. I’d initially thought of placing the message on a screen at the airport, unfortunately, there are no screens at the JKIA, which left me with no choice but to go the billboard way. I wanted to welcome Chantal to Kenya after five months of being away in Italy,” said Eric Omondi.

Eric Omondi is arguably the most romantic man in Kenya. The comedian has proved multiple times that he has the game to make women fall in love with every piece of him.

Chantel welcome party

On September 21st 2015 Eric Omondi caused a stir at JKIA as he welcomed Chantal to Kenya. He hired top dance crew FBI to perform for his queen when she touched down.

FBI dancers together with Eric Omondi started dancing to Patoranking’s ‘My Woman My Everything’ just as Chantal was walking through the arrivals terminal with her luggage.

Work with his sweetheart

Eric Omondi decided to work with his girlfriend as they explored their love. The most memorable work they did together was when they played Adam and Eve on Garden of Eden.

Unending PDA

Eric Omondi is good at Public Display of Affection (PDA). The comedian is always seen kissing Chantel in public, carrying her on the back, serenading her with songs and basically doing all romantic things we see on Mexican and Philippine soap operas.

Threats

Eric Omondi recently made headlines when he issued his ‘irreducible minimums’ to his sweetheart. The comedian protested Chantel’s long stay in Italy by threatening to camp at JKIA until she returns to Kenya.

Chantel left Kenya for Italy to be with her family in September 2017. Eric couldn’t stand the dry spell and decided to use threat to get Chantel back.

“My heart beat. My Love. My Queen. My Angel. I withdraw every petition that may make you unhappy. I will peacefully pitch camp at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until you come back… Please tag her for me… @miss.chanty,” wrote Eric Omondi.

Eric Omondi: I was motivated to build my rental apartments in Kisumu after i was evicted in Nairobi West in 2010

Eric Omondi is among a few celebs who own rental apartments. The comedian is constructing a new apartment block in his parcel of land in Kisumu city.

Eric reveals that he was inspired to be a landlord after being evicted from his rental house in Nairobi West. The comedian says he was kicked out by a caretaker after defaulting on rent for five months.

He explains that he was famous and at the same time very broke. Eric’s household items were auctioned after failing to pay the rent.

“Sometime in September of 2010 while living in Nairobi West my house was locked and all my stuff auctioned… I had a 5 month rent arrear… This was during the break between season one of Churchill Live and Season two… I was as famous as I was broke… On that fateful day my neighbours watched in owe as two pick ups carried away my things and as the Caretaker “politely” asked me to step out of the house so he could lock the door… All these happened at midday… AS I walked out of the compound totally dejected…I remember saying to God “You are my LORD make me LandLord one day” Here we are today. Whatever you are going through today do not be dismayed… It could be God setting you up for your greatest moment,” Eric Omondi narrated.

Eric shared a video of his project in Kisumu county. The comedian has constructed an apartment block on his parcel of land.
