This is why Ezekiel Mutua chose to look the other way in the case of 3 women dancing naked on top of a car

A few days ago an amateur video of three woman dancing in their birthday suits and having oral sex on the roof of a car took the country by storm.

The video was said to been shot somewhere in Machakos but no one seems to be quite sure about the location. Police launched investigation into the incident following public outcry.

Kenya Film  and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua had remained silent about the shocking video until when he was contacted by Standard.

The moral cop explains that he opted not to say a word about the explicit video because he didn’t receive any formal complaint.

“We have not received a formal complaint for us to investigate the case. From the video, it’s hard to tell whether it was shot in Kenya,” said Ezekiel Mutua.

“You will kiss your job goodbye, gay sex workers provide services to so many lawmakers” Joji Baro tells Ezekiel Mutua

Prominent homosexual George Barasa popularly known as Joji Baro has once again locked horns with Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua.

Joji Baro warns Mutua that he will lose his job if he wages war on homosexuality. The KFCB boss had earlier written a letter to the NGOs coordination board to investigate foreign NGOs suspected of funding homosexuality in Kenya.

Mutua claims Western organizations were funding projects that encourages homosexuality in the country. The KFCB boss states that he would rather lose his job than allow homosexuality to become the order of the day in Kenya.

Jobs

Joji Baro however argues that gay organizations employ people who can’t get jobs in mainstream companies. He claims gay organizations can also generate revenue to the government.

“Ezekiel Mutua I am not surprised that these so called gay organisations as you put it are being funded with “big money”. It is true. As a matter of the fact alot of money has been poured. These gay organisations employ people who can otherwise not be employed by the mainstream companies. They provide services that the gay people cannot access because they are refuse to have sex with people of opposite sex like you. These organisations is registered by the Board of NGOs they can generate alot of tax from the “big money”, wrote Joji Baro in part.

 Diplomatic passport

Joji Baro also warns Mutua that he will end up losing his job if keeps on fighting homosexuality in Kenya. He further brags about being the reason why Mutua lost his diplomatic passport.

“Being gay is not a career. I think you are confusing it with sex work. Even so, sex workers also have their right. Some of these gay sex workers provide services to so many law makers out there. If you think you are too smart just try and touch a gay man who is a partner of someone up there and you will kiss your job goodbye just like how I made you loose your diplomatic passport. Before I forget, the gay money does not belong to everyone but gays alone. Stop being “jealousy husband.” Pilipili usiyoila yakwashiani?” wrote Joji Baro.

Why Ezekiel Mutua wants this billboard pulled down immediately

Moral cop Ezekiel Mutua has cracked his whip yet again after spotting an issue that is not morally correct.

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer spotted a billboard that has some offensive language and immediately ordered for it’s pull down.

Vulgar language

Mutua said that the billboard from insurance firm GA needs to be removed because of it’s language which is offensive.

“Adverts containing obscene images or language should not be erected in public places,” Mutua stated.

In fact, the rain might have helped GA a bit, otherwise the billboard would have been pulled down immediately.

“Were it not for the weather condition, we would have requested them to pull it down immediately,” said an official.

Irony as the most ratchet song is from Ezekiel Mutua’s own backyard of Ukambani

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has been on the forefront to ban songs that do not adhere to acceptable moral standards.

Mutua banned Sauti Sol’s ‘Melanin’ and he strongly condemned Eric Omondi when he went for a swim in his birthday suit with children in Turkana.

The moral police seems to be too busy looking for songs to censure from other parts of Kenya that he forgot to monitor his own backyard of Ukambani.

Way too ratchet

Video of a super ratchet Kamba song has left Kenyans mocking Ezekiel Mutua. Video vixens re-enact disturbing scenes of lungula in the Kamba song, a man is seen using a piece of wood as if he wants to forcefully insert it into a woman’s labia.

Ezekiel Mutua breathes fire over Kiss condoms adverts on TV

The debate on Kiss condoms advertisement on Kenyan television has been raging on social media for days. Moral police Ezekiel Mutua has vowed action against the advert.

Mutua’s attention was drawn by a concerned Kenyan who was disturbed by the advert. The condom advert airs in between news bulletin on TV, basically during watershed period.

What disturbs most Kenyans is that the condoms come in different flavors like strawberry, chocolate and kids think that it’s actually food.

Violet content regulations for money

A furious Ezekiel Mutua vowed to move to court to stop local TV stations from airing the advert during watershed period. The moral cop says Kenyan media houses disregard content regulations because of money.

“I am inundated with these kind of messages from concerned parents regarding this obnoxious advert appearing on TV during the watershed period. We have written warning letters to the producers of the advert and the media houses concerned and we are following up the matter to ensure that the advert does not run during the watershed period. We are keen to protect children from premature exposure to adult content. Media houses who know the content regulations continue to violate them because of money.

Ezekiel Mutua

“It’s sad that we have to go to court to enforce such clear guidelines that media houses should uphold as part of self regulation and professionalism. Adverts for alcohol, condoms or such other products meant for adults should not air during the watershed period which in Kenya is between 5am to 10pm. Programs aired during this period on free to air radio and TV should be suitable for family viewing. Programs with scenes or language meant for adults are not suitable during the watershed period. It’s a breach of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222, KICA Section 46 (i) and the Programming Code for free to air radio and TV stations in Kenya to air such programs or adverts at prime time when there is a likelihood of children watching TV or listening. The rationale behind content regulation is to promote Kenya’s culture, moral values and national aspirations and to ensure that children are protected from premature exposure to adult content,” wrote a distraught Ezekiel Mutua.

“I counseled him as a father” Ezekiel Mutua reveals what he discussed with Eric Omondi before he left for US

Ezekiel Mutua is now mentoring Eric Omondi following his distasteful video. The moral police reveals that he had a lengthy conversation with Eric before he left for US.

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO implored parents to sue Eric Omondi the moment his video surfaced online. Eric was seen bathing completely naked with Turkana kids in a river.

Mutua says he had a lengthy telephone conversation with Eric over his video. He claims that the comedian accepted the penalties meted by the KFCB for the inappropriate video.

“Just before I left Nairobi on Thursday evening I had a lengthy telephone conversation with Eric Omondi over his error of judgement in the nude video with kids. He offered what I believe to be a sincere apology and committed to accept the penalties meted by the KFCB for the inappropriate video, even though he denies that he is the one who posted it online. Eric returned to Nairobi from Turkana on Thursday to have a meeting with me following the outrage caused by the video, but I was travelling out of the country and the meeting could not materialise. We agreed to meet when I return,” wrote Ezekiel Mutua in part.

Guidance
Ezekiel Mutua

Mutua also reveals that he counseled Eric Omondi as a father. The moral cops says that he is committed to mentoring Eric to create clean content.

“Now Eric is a gifted comedian and has been an inspiration to many upcoming stand-up comedians and creatives in general, but that video was a costly mistake. I counselled him as a father would his son and advised him to detest from such misguided notion that obscenity is the way to seek fame. We agreed to meet when I return to Kenya and resolve the matter without having to charge him in court. In fact he offered to work with us to create awareness about content regulations and sensitise his fellow artistes on the law. To err is human. Eric should know that God raised him from the gutter to international fame. He should use his talent to promote good in society. We are willing to help him get back on track. While I detest what Eric did, I forgive him at a personal level and commit to guide the mediation process and mentor him to create clean content. Content doesn’t have to be dirty to sell and Eric and other talented artistes should be role models and champions of moral values.”

“This is how these celebrities end up molesting children” Ezekiel Mutua takes shots at Eric Omondi, but fans defend the comedian

Eric Omondi has found himself in trouble after releasing a nude video where he is seen playing with a bunch of minors at a river bank.

His aim while taking the video was to entertain but little did he know that he would be forced to apologize for the clip.

There are those who find the video offensive and Ezekiel Mutua happens to be one. He has been condemning the video and is now pushing for Eric Omondi’s arrest.

In his recent tweet, Ezekiel says that this is how celebrities end up landing in molesting cases and this is why he has been following up with the Eric Omondi video.

Fans defend Eric Omondi

Well, not everyone is annoyed with the video as there are some who actually find it very entertaining. Some have even added that this video portrays something that still happens back in the village and therefore Eric should be condemned. Check out their comments below.

Ezekiel Mutua attracts the wrath of boy child as he speaks of plans to ban importation of sex doll – Samantha

Ezekiel Mutua says sleeping with Samantha is just like sleeping with a corpse. The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO speaks of plans to partner with relevant government agencies to ban importation of sex dolls.

Robot sex doll Samantha has taken over the world by storm. Surprisingly more and more men express desire to have intercourse with sex dolls.

Ezekiel Mutua however warns that sleeping with sex dolls is illegal and immoral. The moral cop argues that shagging a sex doll amounts to necrophilia.

“This Samantha thing is immoral and illegal. It’s having sex against the order of nature. It amounts to necrophilia ( having sex with a corpse) and it’s a crime!” Ezekiel Mutua tweeted.

KOT react

Boy child has expressed fury with Ezekiel Mutua for overstepping his mandate. Tweeps argue Kenya has more important things to worry about than men sleeping with sex robots.

Ezekiel Mutua roots for Kilimani Mums to be considered for cabinet nomination in Uhuru’s government

Moral police wants president Uhuru to give Kilimani Mums a cabinet post. The KFCB boss says the Facebook group represents Kenyans in the diversity.

How Ezekiel Mutua ended up liking Kilimani Mums is even puzzling. The Facebook group is known for discussing some of the most crude topics the moral police should find totally offensive.

But surprisingly Mutua believes Kilimani Mums is the ‘people’s parliament. He reveals that he became a member by chance and doesn’t not regret it.

“I think Kilimani Mums deserve a Cabinet post. The conversations there can inform national policy. I got into the group by default. Guys started tagging me staff that they thought requires my attention as a regulator. “Has Mutua seen this?” Wait until the moral police gets wind of it. . .bla bla bla! So every so often I get a notification on fb and on checking I stray into some very strange but useful conversations. This is an online Bunge la Mwananchi par excellence,” wrote Alfred Mutua in part.

No political inclinations
Ezekiel Mutua

Mutua says Kilimani Mums provides stress relief and humor for Kenyans. He says that he is impressed by the Facebook group because it also has no political inclinations.

“How were kenyans surviving without these platforms? People ventilate on all manner of topics, but the most striking thing is that Kilimani Mums represents Kenyans in the diversity – the serious, the funny, the peculiar, the intelligent. . .name them! Apparently, Kenyans of all walks of life find space in Kilimani Mums. And unlike Kenyans on Twitter, another robust army of netizens with opinions on all subjects under the sun, Kilimani Mums has no political inclinations.

“I think the President should consider a Cabinet slot for this hilarious group of Kenyans who provide such stress relief and humour. But most importantly, we can work with the minister to provide guidelines for classification of Kilimani Mums content on a self-regulatory model!
And while it the stress reliever forum has been rated “Strictly for Persons Over 18″!!” Wrote Ezekiel Mutua.

“Joey Muthengi utaacha uchokozi” Ezekiel Mutua responds after events of Friday night on Citizen TV

Moral cop Ezekiel Mutua recently cautioned Citizen TV’s 10/10 from condoning immorality. Things have since escalated after the Friday 12th show on 10/10.

A fortnight ago Ezekiel Mutua criticized Citizen TV’s 10/10 for airing  obscene content. The KFCB boss said the show was not fit to be aired on national television.

Last Friday Joey Muthengi took a subliminal shot at Mutua during the show. She sarcastically sent a shout-out to Ezekiel Mutua and thanked him for being a 10/10 fan.

Emulate Larry Madowo

Ezekiel Mutua responded by saying he wasn’t against the show. He approved Friday 12th show saying that it adhered to acceptable moral standards.

“Joey Muthengi utaacha uchokozi. Am not against guys having fun. I am against immoral and obscene programs. Last Friday’s show was ok, but most of the other episodes crossed the line. All we want is responsible programs that promote talent but also adhere to ethical standards,” wrote Ezekiel Mutua in part.

The moral cop further asked Joey Muthengi to follow in the footsteps of Larry Madowo whose show Citizen TV copied. He says Madowo never aired obscene content when he used to host the Trend.

“Larry Madowo ran The Trend on NTV for years and helped to grow many artists but his shows were not obscene like 10/10. Mzazi Willy Tuva has promoted many artists with his show on Citizen TV and radio and his shows are not obscene. Content does not have to be obscene to sell, and parading young boys and girls behaving badly on TV is not entertainment. 10/10 is disco on TV. Airing prurient and overt porno-like stuff in the name of entertainment is unacceptable. As much as the program is aired after the watershed period, I disapprove Citizen TV’s greed to use young boys and girls to twerk and gyrate their torsos to improve it’s ratings,” said Ezekiel Mutua.

Joey Muthengi on 10/10

Business without morality

Ezekiel Mutua further blasts Citizen TV for failing to promote local talent. He says the station airs Nigerian movies and Mexican soaps throughout the day and only misuse kids and local artists to make money.

“What the kids do publicly is a preserve of strip clubs. You should tone down the content. We all have a responsibility to ensure young people are not exposed to a useless make-belief world which can impair their moral judgement and lead to crime. The media must not ruin our kids in the name of making money. Citizen TV doesn’t love those kids; they are only using them to popularize their immoral content. Citizen TV doesn’t promote local artists; they misuse them by self provisioning while paying them peanuts. Citizen TV doesn’t promote local content; they air Naija movies and Mexican soaps throughout the day and only misuse our kids and local artists to make money. This is business without morality!” Ezekiel Mutua ranted.

“This is a discotheque on TV” Ezekiel Mutua’s statement about Citizen TV’s 10/10 show

Ezekiel Mutua, who is the chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board is back with another complaint. This time around it’s however not about an explicit song but a show which he says is a disco aired on TV.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Ezekiel Mutua criticizes and goes on to explain why the show is not fit to be aired on National Television.

With the statement below it’s quite not clear whether he plans on banning the show; but from the look of things, he might just have this in mind. Read the post below

Ezekiel Mutua rubs Kenyans the wrong way as he launches scathing attack on SportPesa

Ezekiel Mutua expressed his joy after SportPesa canceled all existing financial agreements with clubs and federations. The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) boss says the cancellation was a good move.

SportPesa cancelled all existing financial agreements with clubs and federations on Tuesday January 2nd. The move followed government’s decision to effect a new tax law requiring all betting, lottery and gaming companies to pay an increased tax of 35% on gross earnings up from 15%.

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri says the new tax law is punitive and harmful to business. The gaming giant holds the largest market and has been the most active company in terms of allocating sponsorship money to teams, federations, as well as tournaments.

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri

SportPesa sponsored Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards football clubs to the tune of Kes 60 million and Kes 45 million respectively. The company also sponsored Kenya Premier League and Football Kenya Federation and the Kenya Rugby Union at Kes 100 million, Kes 70 million and Kes 120 million respectively.

SportsPesa can close shop in Kenya for all I care

Ezekiel Mutua angered Kenyans when he celebrated news that SportPesa had stopped all sponsorship in Kenya. The KFCB boss argues that betting has reduced the country to a morally bankrupt nation.

“SportsPesa can close shop in Kenya for all I care. Betting has reduced us to a morally bankrupt nation that teaches it’s youths that there are quick fixes to life. The damage caused by sports betting will in the long run have more devastating effects than the road carnage we are witnessing. The moral decay caused by this demonic craze cannot be compensated through any short term gains brought by SportsPesa sponsorships. Our award winning athletes are not a product of SportsPesa sponsorship. Dennis Oliech, Victor Wanyama and Michael Olunga are not products of betting companies. We must not trade our values for profits. The future of our country is threatened by this addictive craze!” Wrote Ezekiel Mutua.

Sauti Sol taunts Ezekiel Mutua as ‘Melanin’ garners 1 million views in just 5 days

Ezekiel Mutua’s ban on Sauti Sol has turned out to be more of a blessing than a curse. The song has been trending first on YouTube ever since the moral police termed it as outright pornographic.

KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua slapped Sauti Sol with watershed period ban on Thursday November 23rd. ‘Melanin’ will not be played on TV during the watershed period which runs from 5am to 10pm.

The moral cop says Sauti Sol is full of nudity and also objectifies women under the guise of black beauty. KFCB wrote to Sauti Sol to submit the video for examination and classification for age suitability.

1 million views in just 5 days

Ezekiel Mutua doesn’t know that when a song is banned it even becomes more viral. This is what happened to ‘Melanin’ as it is currently the hottest song on YouTube.

Sauti Sol taunted Mutua when ‘Melanin’ hit 1 million views in just 5 days. The quartet shared a screenshot of the views and thanked everyone for their support.

“As we performed #MELANIN last night at the #KorogaFestivalXX it hit 1,000,000 views in just 5 days and still trending #1 ? Thank you for the love everyone ?? #AfrikanSauce ? #LP #collabo @patorankingfire,” wrote Sauti Sol.

“You’re a thief” Boniface Mwangi’s barrage of insults force Ezekiel Mutua to bury his head in the sand

The new beef in town is between Boniface Mwangi and Ezekiel Mutua. The moral cop clashed with Boniface after the activist cast aspersions on his IQ.

Ezekiel Mutua is one of the most hated persons in Kenya. The Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) chairman has been attacked by so many people.

Boniface ruffled Mutua’s features when he stated that the KFCB boss lacked a sense of judgment. The activist called Mutua outright stupid.

Someone should ban Ezekiel Mutua stupidity,” Boniface Mwangi tweeted.

You can’t even win MCA seat

The moral cop immediately fired back at Boniface. He says the controversial activist is thinking like a toddler that why he can’t even win MCA seat.

“Your infantile thinking and juvenile delinquency is the reason you couldn’t win an MCA seat. Useless activism!” Ezekiel Mutua tweeted.

The KFCB boss however knew he couldn’t stand the heat from Boniface. He chose the block the activist instead of putting up with his insults.

Boniface sensationally claims Ezekiel Mutua is a thief. The activist reveals this in his response to Mutua’s earlier tweet.

“So @EzekielMutua you blocked me but l will still keep reminding you that you’re a thief, you stole TV’s,cash and switched the winners list at Kenya Union of Journalism awards in 2005. Have you told your followers your greed killed KUJ?” Boniface Mwangi tweeted.

Ezekiel Mutua warns TV stations of dire consequences if they play Sauti Sol’s ‘Melanin’

Ezekiel Mutua has finally slapped Sauti Sol with watershed period ban. The Kenya Film and Classification Board warns TV stations of dire consequences if they dare play ‘Melanin’ during the watershed period.

‘Melanin’ will not be played on TV during the watershed period which runs from 5am to 10pm. Ezekiel Mutua clarifies in a statement to the public that he hasn’t banned the song to its entirety.

Mutua says Sauti Sol’s song can’t be played during the watershed period due to undesirable elements like nudity and objectification of women under the guise of black beauty.

The statement says Sauti Sol released their video without complying with Film and Stage Act, Cap 222. Mutua says KFCB board has written to Sauti Sol to submit the video for examination and classification for age suitability.

Broadcasters be warned

The moral cop warns TV stations of dire consequences. Mutua says KFCB won’t hesitate to take action against any broadcaster who plays ‘Melanin’ during watershed period.

“The Board will not hesitate to take action against any broadcaster or exhibitor who shows the video during the watershed period and/or in establishments where children are at risk of viewing it,” Ezekiel Mutua tweeted.

Mutua further says that Sauti Sol should be in the forefront in following the law. He states that the group ought to have warned consumers of their content.

“A band of Sauti Sol’s stature should be in the forefront in following the law and even warning consumers of their content that the video should not be accessed by children as it explores an adult theme. It is unfortunate that a reputable band like Sauti Sol would resort to sideshows in this important matter rather than complying with the law in their operations.”

Bien: Ezekiel Mutua is not the target audience, sisi hatumuogopi

Moral police Ezekiel Mutua has vowed to ban Sauti Sol’s new song. The group however has no regret about dropping a lewd music video.

Kenya Film Classification Board CEO termed ‘Melanin’ as an absolutely pornography video. Mutua expressed his deep disappointment with Sauti Sol for dropping the offensive song.

He’s not the target audience

Sauti Sol knew they would clash with Ezekiel Mutua even before they dropped ‘Melanin’. The quartet confirmed this while speaking on Hot 96 a day before they released their controversial song.

Jalango asked the group if they thought their video would be played on TV. He told them that the photos they were posting on social media were not Ezekiel Mutua friendly.

“The photos that you people have been posting are not Ezekiel Mutua friendly. So you think it (‘Melanin’) might not be played in our local TVs?” Jalango asked.

Bien-Aimé Baraza replied and told Jalas not to be scared. He says Ezekiel Mutua is not their target audience and assured him ‘Melanin’ would piss him off.

“Even the video is not Ezekiel Mutua friendly. I mean he’s not the target audience. We are pushing the boundary, we are entertaining. We are entertainers that’s what we do you know. Wee (Jalango) usiogope. Unatujua sisi Sauti Sol ni watu wa vitu kali sisi,” said Bien.

Watch the complete interview in the video below:

“It’s full of nudity and obscenity” Ezekiel Mutua vows to ban Sauti Sol’s new song ‘Melanin’

It’s déjà vu moment for Sauti Sol after they dropped ‘Melanin’ featuring Patoranking. Only three years ago the quartet’s video was banned over erotic scenes.

Sauti Sol’s ‘Nishike’ sparked uproar when the video was dropped in April 2014. The song was banned in local TV stations owing to its explicit nature.

No lesson learnt

Sauti Sol dropped ‘Melanin’ on November 20th 2017 and it’s generating the same response as ‘Nishike’. The song is great yes but the video has rubbed some people the wrong way.

‘Melanin’ has already attracted the attention of moral police Ezekiel Mutua. The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO has vowed to ban Sauti Sol’s new song.

It’s absolutely pornography

Ezekiel Mutua termed ‘Melanin’ as offensive by accepted standards of morality and decency. Mutua expresses his deep disappointment with Sauti Sol while speaking to Citizen Digital.

“I have watched the video, the scenes are inappropriate and it’s full of nudity, obscenity and it should be saved for watershed period, Sauti Sol is taking the wrong direction, defying the norms and expectations of the society, they don’t know that they can still be famous without being obscene. The elements that we look at are the frequency, intensity, nudity and obscenity and Sauti sol’s is adult rated,” Ezekiel Mutua said.

“She thrived in obscenity and vulgarity” Ezekiel Mutua gives Caroline Mutoko a dressing down

Caroline Mutoko and Ezekiel Mutua’s beef is only gaining momentum. The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO has since decided to go all out against the former radio queen.

Caroline and Ezekiel first clashed last week when she stated that corruption and poor policies on the part of KFCB was the reason why a short film based on the life of a Kenyan community organizer – Kennedy Odede was being film in South Africa instead of Kenya.

Even though Caroline apologized and pulled down the video that made Mutua catch a major one, the former radio queen once again rubbed the KFCB boss the wrong way in a video uploaded on YouTube on Monday October 2nd.

Caroline challenged Mutua to make sure he lands the movie or movies that will make Kenyans proud like what ‘Out of Africa’ did over 20 years ago.

Ezekiel replied to Caroline’s video by claiming that she makes money through sideshows. The KFCB boss stated that Caroline is best remembered for setting the wrong agenda for obscenity and vulgarity on the airwaves during her tenure at Kiss 100.

Below is Ezekiel’s post:

Our standards as Kenyans are so low that Caroline Mutoko and Mutahi Ngunyi are actually celebrated opinion shapers. Yet, theirs is pathetic, debilitating armchair journalism that adds zero value to the national development agenda. For now let me deal with Caroline and her weekly rantings about the film industry in Kenya. Please get some basics right madam: KFCB is the regulator of the film industry. KFC markets Kenya as a preferred filming destination. Chris Foot, of whom you speak with such adoration, is actually the one to respond to your questions about movies being taken away from Kenya. I will respond to the rest of the inaccuracies later, but it hurts to see a journalist of Mutoko’s calibre openly mislead the public. Well, there is a silver lining though: Ezekiel Mutua and KFCB have brought the film discourse to the fore. So much so that the failure of other institutions is blamed on us. We have stood our ground about the need to clean the airwaves and bring sanity back on our screens. People like Mutoko can’t be part of this crusade and they are out to sabotage it, through sideshows, because that’s how they made their money – by corrupting moral values of our society through obscene sex talk radio shows during the watershed period. There is so much I can say about Mutoko’s tenure at Kiss 100 and how she set the wrong agenda for obscenity and vulgarity on our airwaves, but the less said the better. Suffice it to say that the worst threat to media freedom is not Government; it’s unprofessional journalists who play god with their platforms to malign their subjects. Mutoko’s clips fall short of the basic tenets of journalism – accuracy, objectivity and fairness!

Ezekiel Mutua forces Caroline Mutoko to eat the humble pie

Caroline Mutoko was compelled to eat her words by the no nonsense Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua.

The former radio queen took a swipe at KFCB on a video uploaded on her YouTube channel claiming that corruption and poor policies on the part of the film regulatory body was the reason why a short film based on the life of a Kenyan community organizer – Kennedy Odede was being film in South Africa instead of Kenya.

https://youtu.be/v04LpiDnbl8

Ezekiel Mutua was quick to respond to Caroline Mutoko’s allegations with a comprehensive statement absolving KFCB from any blame. Read Mutua’s response below:

I have had time to listen to the commentary by Caroline Mutoko, alleging that a film based on the life of Kenyan community organiser and entrepreneur Kennedy Odede will be filmed in South Africa and not Kenya.

In the video, Mutoko claims the alleged choice of South Africa over Kenya is because filming in Kenya is prohibitive. She further attributes this development to corruption in Government , suggesting that Government officials ask for kickbacks so as to render services.

This is an insult to the diligent and hard working public servants. It’s a demeaning generalisation and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts by someone who should know better.

To suggest that every Government officer is corrupt is offensive and an insult to the public service. Mutoko should therefore withdraw the statement and apologise for making claims that she cannot corroborate with evidence. Not every government official is corrupt; just like not every journalist is corrupt. The insinuation is, therefore, both malicious and unfair.

But Having duly listened to the commentary, let me set the record straight on substantive issues raised as follows:

1. There is no evidence that the film will be shot in South Africa and not Kenya. Ms Mutoko’s sentiments are based on rumours and information that could be incorrect.

2. The producers have not approached KFCB for a filming licence and denied an opportunity to film in the country.

3. Several other international films have been shot on location in Kenya, and the country is considered among countries with the best filming locations in the world. If the filmmakers opt for South Africa, it is not because of prohibitive filming costs in Kenya but unique preferences considered by the producers that have nothing to do with costs.

4. The KFCB filming licence issued to local filmmakers is the same issued to international filmmakers.

5. While the claim that the film will be shot in South Africa is yet to be verified, the choice of South Africa (if true) can only be attributed to an individual producer preference of the location, influenced by the nature of his script and the way he wants it to come out. It has nothing to do with the false suggestion that the regulatory environment in Kenya is prohibitive.

6. Granted, South Africa has better film policies and technology. But one of the key challenges we have in Kenya is multiple licences issued by County Governments. Film licensing is a national function and the sole mandate of the Kenya Film Classification Board in line with the Film and Stage Plays Act, CAP 222 of the laws of Kenya.

Yet, some of the County Governments are chasing away film makers by charging illegal fees. We hope to address this matter comprehensively and conclusively through the review of Cap 222 but also the ongoing discussions with the Council of Governors.

Caroline Mutoko was forced to eat the humble pie following Ezekiel Mutua’s explanation, she issued her apology on twitter.

Ezekiel Mutua offers cash reward to KBC anchor Victor Muyakane who risked his life to save disabled beggar when bees attacked Jubilee protestors (Photos)

Jubilee protestors were on Wednesday September 20th attacked by a swarm of angry bees while they were demonstrating against Supreme Court ruling.

Victor Muyakane carried the disable man and ran with him even as the bees stung him. Photos of Muyakane saving the crippled man have melted the hearts of many people.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has offered a Kes 10,000 reward for Victor Muyakane for his heroic action.

“This man Victor Muyakane, a reporter with KBC, risked his life to save a disabled guy from the swam of bees at SCOK yesterday. He is a hero and his acts of kindness and bravery represent the best of human virtues. I celebrate him. I personally donate Ten Thousand Kenya Shillings to him as a token of appreciation for this spontaneous show of love to humanity. Whoever knows him kindly inbox me his number. I want to call him personally to celebrate him!” wrote Ezekiel Mutua.

Several other celebrities also commended Muyakane for saving the disabled beggar;

Jacque Maribe: This is Victor Muyakane…a KBC TV reporter and news anchor…as people scampered when bees attacked people near Supreme Court, he instead dashed to help this disabled Kenyan…never mind the bees landing on him at the time. He, is a hero, a true spirit, we celebrate you!

Chris Kirwa: KBC news Anchor. Victor Muyakane ?? When bees struck … as others reacted and scattered….. he responded …. the difference between Reaction and Responding

Dennis Itumbi: Everybody took cover from the bees, but this journalist was the hero. I salute you Victor Muyakane.

Ezekiel Mutua finally settles his beef with KTN’s Yvonne Okwara

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua had a grudge against KTN anchor Yvonne Okwara but last night the moral cop got over his ill feeling.

Of all the news anchors in Kenya who have stepped on Ezekiel Mutua’s toes, Yvonne Okwara was the most detested journalist by the KFCB boss.

Mutua claimed the beautiful KTN anchor gave him the worst television interview in his public life. A thing that he didn’t take lightly.

But last night Mutua settled his beef with Yvonne Okwara after watching her on TV, the KTN anchor moderated the first round of presidential debate which was held at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

Ezekiel Mutua was totally impressed with her work last night and therefore he opted to get rid of the ill feeling he harbored in his heart.

“YVONNE OKWARA holds the record as having given me the worst tv interview in my public life. But today on the Presidential Debate she was simply amazing … Balanced. . .Intelligent …..Grit! Kudos!” Ezekiel Mutua wrote.

It’s the BIGGEST win so far for Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Ezekiel Mutua. And he’s now mocking Kenyan media following the win.

Ezekiel Mutua made a bold decision in January 2017 to restrain beer companies from airing beer adverts during watershed period. His decision was met with rebellion from concerned parties leading to a court battle.

The court yesterday May 16th ruled in favor of Mr. Mutua – meaning that he now has the power to regulate content, including adverts and that all audio visual material meant for public exhibition.

“In January this year KFCB obtained a temporary court order restraining beer companies from airing beer adverts during the watershed period and ordering that all audio visual adverts be submitted to the Board for rating and classification in line with the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222. Our case was based on our desire to protect children from exposure to harmful content. It was part of our campaign to promote moral values by enforcing the watershed period principles. Infortunately, the beer companies moved to the Constitutional Court to challenge our mandate arguing that we were overstepping and acting ultra vires. Other companies like Safaricom and media houses as well as advertising agencies were enjoined to oppose the ruling. Today the court has ruled that we have the mandate in the law to regulate content, including adverts and that all audio vidual material meant for public exhibition must be submitted to the Board for rating and classification. This is a landmark ruling that will bring sanity to the Media industry and solidify the position of the Board as the regulator of content in line with Cap 222 and the Programming Code for free to air radio and tv services in Kenya,” Ezekiel Mutua wrote.

The no nonsense KFCB boss taunted Kenyan media following his win, he said that the media could not cover his win because the win goes against their business interests. He also stated that a corrupt media was the WORST enemy of Kenya.

Ezekiel Mutua in a past interview at Citizen TV

“The mainstream media will not cover this. They don’t cover anything against their business interests because their principle drive is profit. They have sacrificed moral values at the alter of profits. They demonize and vilify anyone who stands on their way. Our worst enemy in Kenya is the corrupt and unethical media. This country will never achieve meaningful development when the Media is run by corrupt cartels who underpay journalists and take partisan positions for money. The media ought to be the custodian of public interest and should be objective, accurate and fair. The worst enemy of Kenya is not the Government. It’s not politicians. It’s corrupt media!” Wrote Ezekiel Mutua.

After finishing off with Churchill and his ilk, Ezekiel Mutua turns his guns to child ponography…this is what he wants to do with it

Ezekiel is quite the ambitious man…or is it powerful…he makes a sound and the likes of Churchill scatter for their safety as they perfectly know what the man is capable of.

And trust me it’s quite a lot!

He might have taken a sabbatical but trust me he was not asleep, he was busy plotting and planning with his eyes set on child pornography and everyone who’s involved.

According to research Kenya Film Classification Board(KFCB) has conducted, child pornography has reached alarming levels and he wants the government to crack the whip on the cartels running the practice which runs into millions of dollars.

And he has just the right solution for that.

He wants the government to establish a police unit specifically designed to fight off the vice and he wants to be the chief commander of the unit.

“We are talking of children who are young as 12 years who are being introduced to child pornography by foreigners. This children are exploited in the business which is worth billions” Ezekiel Mutua told the Nation.

He was speaking from Pride Inn Beach resort where KFCB managers are currently bundled to learn more about communication.
