Hennessy global brand ambassador highlights vision for the French cognac during maiden visit to Kenya (Photos)

Hennessy Global Brand Ambassador Monsieur Fabien Levieux made his maiden visit in the country a few days ago. Speaking at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi, Fabien stressed that the French cognac will continue with its spirit of quality and craftsmanship.

“At Hennessy, we believe that our heritage is our future. With 8 generations of master blenders from the same
family, that is over 252 years of quality and craftsmanship in a bottle. It’s in this spirit that we
believe in drinking better and not just more.”

Kenya important market

Kenya is the third largest market for Hennessy in Africa coming after Nigeria and South Africa. Fabien insisted that, even though growth and expansion is top of his agenda; the art of blending is at the core of Hennessy; combining cultures, art and fine cognac.

The Hennessy family visits Kenya to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Hennessy V.S.O.P

For the 200th anniversary of V.S.O.P Privilège, Hennessy Maison visited Kenya to pay tribute to it’s heritage.

It all started with a Prince; Two centuries ago, the future King George IV, a cognac connoisseur requested an excellent pale cognac which Hennessy delivered in 1818. He wanted his cognac superior, a cut above the rest and so Hennessy presented to him “VSOP – Very Superior Old Pale.”

It is then that Hennessy pioneered a new style of cognac, becoming the first house to produce VSOP – the perfect expression of a balanced, harmonious and complete cognac. This would go on to transform the art of cognac making, inspiring the “Very Special Old Pale” designation. This hallmark of excellence has stood the test of time becoming an icon and a world leader today.

Over the next two centuries, as the world was being transformed by innovation, V.S.O.P remained true to its roots, its quality unaltered thanks to the Hennessy master blenders who passed down the secrets of this timeless cognac from one generation to the next. To this day, Hennessy continually produces cognac maintaining its original and unique character.

At Hennessy, we believe that “our heritage is our future”.

In celebration of this 200th Anniversary of Hennessy V.S.O.P, members of the Hennessy Family and the Hennessy Maison are in Nairobi to be part of this key milestone in Kenya. As part of their visit, the Hennessy family is meeting key stakeholders to discuss the dynamic Hennessy Maison, its heritage, savoire faire and vision for the future.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to visit Nairobi, its energy and vibrancy is exciting. Hennessy has always been a brand without borders, enjoyed the world over. It’s always amazing to see Hennessy being embraced across continents and cultures and it’s important we celebrate this milestone with our valued consumers.”, shares Maurice Hennessy.

About Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège

In perpetuating the legacy of the original cognac created for the future King of England, Hennessy master blenders have honed the art of “Harmony Mastered from Chaos” based on the finest qualities nature has to give, V.S.O.P Privilège is the definitive expression of a perfectly balanced cognac. Created from a selection of firmly structured eaux-de-vie, aged largely in partially used barrels in order to take on subtle levels of oak tannins, this highly characterful cognac reveals balanced aromas of fresh vanilla, cinnamon and toasty notes that come together in seamless perfection.
