Losing a loved one has never been easy in fact it takes a while before the pain goes away; but all in all it is a path that every human will have to take.

Ms Wambui K Collymore continues to hold on to the happy memories she shared with her husband Bob Collymore when he was still alive.

Despite it being 6 months since he succumbed to Cancer, Ms Wambui recently shared a moving birthday where she celebrated her husband saying;

Mr C., I miss being your personal paparazzi four our failed selfies. 6 months, 13 days, 22 hrs 20 minutes since I last saw you. Happy birthday @bobcollymore I continue to love you.

As revealed by close sources of the late Safaricom CEO revealed that Bob Collymore fought his fight courageously until his last breathe.

The late Bob Collymore has however been receiving treatment from some of the best hospitals in the country; in 2017 Collymore had taken a short medical leave to fight off the cancer in his body.

His death came as a big blow to many who looked up to him for inspiration; but sadly succumbed to his illness.

So far cancer has robbed the country some of its best people like the late Janet Kanini and just recently, Anjlee Gadhvi. However, despite having them gone, Kenyans continue to celebrate their lives and appreciate the changes they made while they were still alive. May they rest in eternal peace!

Janet Kanini succumbed to lung cancer on April 1st 2017 leaving behind two kids and a husband. The fallen NTV N-soko Property show host was diagnosed with cancer in 2015.

Kanini passed on at the age of 38, she had been married for 9 years at the time of her death. Her husband George Ikua on Wednesday penned an emotional anniversary to his late wife.

“10 years ago today, on 7th March 2008 we wed and danced somewhere in Karen. I celebrate you Janee, everyday,and thanks for the ride, Happy Anniversary love. To all the friends and family that made that day the fun and laughter it was I am eternally grateful, we sure kicked ass,” wrote George Ikua in part.

10 vital lessons

George also shared lessons he has learnt after his wife’s death:

As I sit here reflecting on the journey that was and that is, I have come up with a few truths that I wish to share:

1. We are all potential widows or widowers, act like it today.

2.Marriage is about the two of you, keep the parents, siblings, friends and society in the audience, where they were at the wedding.

3. Learn to fight with your spouse, where you fight to stay not to be right.

4.Laughter is the magic glue, a good laugh heals a lot of hurts..and as they cackle over you will remember why you married them.

5.Create memories, travel by bus, cook her dinner, plant a tree, sing karaoke, walk in the sunset..whatever it is, this is all you will be left with when its all said and done.

6.When it comes to money, men treat her like your daughter, you don’t count what you give. Ladies treat him like your dad, you protect and grow it and I know you wouldn’t fleece your pops would you?

7.Be his or her number one fan,understand and fight for their dreams, career and purpose. Urge them to be their best version of themselves they could be…not your version though 🙂

8.Dating is the opposite of marriage, one is about you and how they treat you right…. and the other is about him or her , how you treat them right. How one precedes the other is truly a concept of Hollywood. In my view friendship should precede marriage.

9. Marriage is not about kids ,they are the icing on the cake. Dont say you are in it for the icing, enjoy that cake.

10. Take a good look at your spouse andif you cant wipe their puke or sh**t, you have a big problem. As casually as we say in sickness and in health a time a day is coming when you have to be their anchor when their body is broken.

Your spouse hate them or love them is the most important person in your life and today I wish you a happy X year X days Anniversary!One love.

Janet Kanini’s husband receives award as his late wife is fêted in her death

Janet Kanini may no longer be alive but her legacy lives on, the deceased was honored in her death for the work she did while she was still alive.

Kanini passed on two months ago after a battle with lung cancer. The deceased dedicated her life to in cancer sensitization campaign after being diagnosed with cancer herself.

Her work has been recognized by Tom Arocho Award who feted her with award for Commitment to Excellence in Coverage of Lung Health Issues.

Kanini’s widower George Ikua received the award on Tuesday night June 20th during the fourth International scientific Conference.

“Today I was honored to receive on behalf of Janet(Janet K. Ikua) the Tom Arocho Award for Commitment to Excellence in Coverage of Lung Health Issues at the 4th International Scientific Lung Health Conference. As we honor Janet we must begin this conversations ….lest you find out too late..” George Ikua wrote.

 

Unapologetic Whitney Mukami throws shades at the late Janet Kanini Ikua

While most people were sending condolences to the family of the late Janet Kanini Ikua, Whitney Mukami had insensitive things to say about the deceased.

Even though the late Janet has been said to be the kind of person who wouldn’t step on someone’s toes, unapologetic Whitney just had to sling mud at her.

The salty lady took to Facebook to grumble about how Kenyans were making noise about the death of Janet Kanini.

“Hii kelele yote ya Janet Kanini amekufa, is she the first one or the last one kufa? It’s an opportunity for other women to take her place na life continues,” Whitney Mukami posted on Kilimani Mums Uncensored group on Facebook.

Her insensitive post sparked uproar from fellow women who rebuked her severely – even so Whitney Mukami didn’t apologize for what she said.

“Now fellow ladies you all turn against me and pray that I die….Gachagua just died the other day and life continues…I didn’t see this kind of stoning, I have lost my mom n sisters through cancer…I didn’t see the bile, are other deaths more special than others? Mshindwe you hypocrites,” Mukami hit back at her critics.

Larry Madowo has revealed intimate details about former NTV presenter Janet Kanini who passed away on April 1st after a long battle with cancer.

Even though Larry is employed by Nation Media Group, the Daily Nation columnist decided to write for a rival newspaper – the Standard to eulogize Janet Kanini.

Larry says the Standard approached him to write a tribute to Janet Kanini and he couldn’t turn them down despite the newspaper being direct competitor to Daily Nation.

“The Standard on Sunday asked me to write a tribute to Janet Kanini-Ikua and they were kind enough to publish it. I don’t care that they’re the competition, I was honoured to write about her,” Larry Madowo revealed.

In his tribute on the Standard, Larry revealed Kanini’s mother received the disturbing news about her daughter’s death while she was travelling.

“Dr Margaret Muiva was on her way back to Nairobi when someone called to condole with her about the death of her daughter. It should have been a cruel April Fools’ Day prank but it wasn’t. My friend Janet Kanini-Ikua, 39, signed off from the world for the last time yesterday morning. She is survived by her husband George and her two children Pedro, 6, and Jasmine, 4,” Larry wrote.

The NTV news anchor revealed Janet was his close friend; Larry said he visited the deceased in hospital before she was first diagnosed with lung cancer.

“When I went to see her in a routine hospital visit before that diagnosis, she was holding court even in her bed, joking and keeping everyone at ease to cover for the awkward silences.”

Former NTV presenter Janet Kanini Ikue passed away on Saturday April 1st after a long battle with cancer. Her death left many shocked as she had successfully completed cancer treatment.

Until her death, Kanini was a cancer advocate – she quit her job to start teaching Kenyans on the importance of a leading a healthy lifestyle.

Kanini’s husband George Ikua has eulogized his wife with lyrics from the song “Good people” by Jussie Smollet and Yazz. He posted the lyrics on social media and captioned it ‘goodbye love’.
