It has been two years now since Janet Mbugua resigned at Citizen TV. Recently, social media has been buzzing after she official announced her comeback which will be on NTV.
Mbugua will be hosting a new show called “Here and Now”, which will be centered on the youth and will tackle social, economic and political issues they are facing.
“I am so jittery and that shows that I care about the product. A mentor once told me, the day you stop being nervous you should be worried,” she said.
Mbugua has now dropped a snippet of the show and we want you to be the judge. The first episode includes her brother and former radio presenter Anita Nderu as they talk about depression and mental health.
“A difficult conversation with my older brother Kevin, plus a look in to a subject affecting many young people today and more. @hereandnowke premiers at 8 o’clock tonight on @ntvkenya. Use #HereAndNowKE,” she said on social media.

Former Citizen TV news anchor Janet Mbugua has taken a break from social media.
Though she shared it’s not permanent, the mother of two didn’t reveal when she might be making a comeback.
“It’s been such an incredible week! A lot of it spent online and now it’s time to be present offline, at least for a bit. A huge thank you to you who’ve participated in such key conversations around social issues, particularly on health and gender rights,” she posted on social media.
“A special thanks to those who’ve signed and shared my petition. Let’s get more signatures on there! The more the voices, the better the progress. I’m bummed that I won’t make it to the Women Deliver Conference in Vancouver this year, due to unavoidable circumstances. For our national champions going, like @nicelengete and @josephinekulea among others, make us proud! To all of you, Happy Madaraka Day 2019, see you all soon!”
Janet might just be taking a rest from her busy schedule which has seen her travel to different parts of the country. She needs the rest.
Former Citizen TV news anchor Janet Mbugua and her hubby Eddie Ndichu were recently on social media to share some cute family moments.
It has been eight months now since Janet delivered her second born, Mali. On instagram, Ndichu shared cute photos with his two sons enjoying a day out and it’s totally worth it.
Hell and Back
Janet shared how she went through hell and back to welcome her second bundle of joy after delivery. The former news anchor had to be hospitalized.
Mbugua, in a live session with her fans on Instagram, shared that she had to undergo surgery after delivering her new born.
“It was insane, I underwent a surgical procedure next to my newborn. I had multiple meltdowns and I thank my family members (both mine and my hubby’s) for being supportive. They were there for me. Most incredible families,” narrated Mbugua.

Janet Mbugua is now only a month a way to delivery and she’s getting a little nervous. The former Citizen TV news anchor shared in her blog that she has done everything right so far and she hoping that everything will go smoothly.
Hoping for the best
She also went on to add that she hopes she will push the baby and not a caesarean section like she did with her first born.
“MY DUE DATE IS TOWARDS THE END OF SEPTEMBER. I’M TRYING TO DO AS MUCH AS I CAN TO HAVE A DIFFERENT KIND OF BIRTH THIS TIME. I WANT TO PUSH THIS BABY. I DID CS FOR MY FIRST BABY BECAUSE HE WAS IN A BREECH POSITION AND I REMEMBER AT A TIME THINKING AS LONG AS IT’S GOOD FOR THE BABY I’M FINE, AND THAT’S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL EVEN THIS TIME ROUND, EXCEPT THIS TIME I AM BEING SO INTENTIONAL ABOUT PUSHING. I JUST DON’T WANT TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER SURGERY. HOWEVER, IF THAT’S GOD’S PLAN I AM NOT GOING TO FIGHT IT.” she said.
Janet Mbugua is heavily pregnant and is finding it a little bit hard to find cloths that are comfortable and still fashionable.
Mbugua, who is married to Edward Ndichu, is pregnant with her second child and has been informing her son Huru that he’ll soon have a brother/sister.
“We speak to him like an adult and he has really become independent, which is helping him a lot. We have also made sure that when he asks a question, we try as much as possible to explain to him about that,” Janet revealed awhile ago.
It seems Huru has grown up and even now can suggest how his mum should dress. Mbugua shared that Huru commented on a pair of tights she wore which, he wanted his mum to add something else to go with them. He felt his mum wasn’t fully dressed.
Here’s what Janet shared:
“My son looked at this outfit and told me, “Mummy you haven’t finished dressing”. Verbatim ? I think the tights made the look seem incomplete to him but these are one of the few outfits that are comfortable enough at this point! I’d wear a bedsheet if I could ? #PreggersStruggles…Sometimes…?

Before Evaline Momanyi and Paul Ndichu started dating, there was Grace Mslame. Mslame’s union with Ndichu ended but left behind beautiful twins.
Now that Momanyi is in the picture and usually spends time with the two girls, she took to social media to explain how she hacks the tricky relationship without causing friction.
Not that unique
According to her, such families(blended family) thrive on respect and real love. We have seen Ndichu taking care of the twins and still being there for his new bundle of joy.
“Blended families are not that unique. My thoughts on it is there should be real genuine love. There has to be a lot of respect and communication around everybody. For the fathers, you always have to take responsibility and you will live in a peaceful situation,” she explained.
Having been married for 2 year now former TV queen Janet Mbugua and her hubby Eddie Ndichu celebrated their wedding anniversary at the lush Borana Conservancy just to get away from the busy town of Nairobi on this special day.
Eddie Ndichu shared a photo dining with his wife and from his caption, he indeed feels blessed to have found an amazing woman like Janet Mbugua who is also his soul mate and mother of his adorable son.
He captioned the photo saying,
Thanking God and @officiaLjanetmbugua for two of the best years of my life. To many more years of friendship.#anniversaryweekend.
Janet Mbugua on the other hand shared a couple of photos from their vacation as she also celebrated her hubby.
