OJ comes clean on his drinking habit: I have never been an alcoholic but sometimes I over do it

A lot has been said about actor Dennis Mugo aka OJ’s love for the bottle.

In the past, he has issued mini-statements regarding this trying to save his image and probably career.  The actor recently appeared on K24 and yet again denied that he’s an alcoholic, a reason why he was dropped from Citizen TV program Tahidi High.

He however confessed that he loved drinking and sometimes overdid it.

“I have never been an alcoholic in term of dependency on alcohol but there are times I have overdone it. But it has never gotten to a point of going to rehab or having cops involved,” he explained.

Comeback

He said that leaving Tahidi High was bound to happen in one way or another because it needed younger characters. He later made a comeback on the show as a teacher.

“The story about leaving Tahidi was based on the realism of the show, it had to be maintained. We had been in the show for over 6 years. It was a phasing out of the old class that had Abel Mutua, Philip Karanja and Sarah Hassan. We started as 2nd-year students and when we were leaving Eddy already had two kids…it was time. There is no way Eddy is telling guys that he is in form 4 and he has two kids outside the show. The believability of the show kinda shakes.”

What a chameleon! Ezekiel Mutua is ok with gay CNN anchor speaking in church but can’t stand Kenya’s own self-confessed gay Joji Baro

Joji Baro will probably not be welcomed at Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) leave alone given an opportunity to address faithful, because he is not white, he’s not rich and famous.

But JCC welcomed Richard Quest with an open arm, the openly gay CNN anchor was given a special seat close to the pulpit and yes, he also addressed the church.

“You will kiss your job goodbye, gay sex workers provide services to so many lawmakers” Joji Baro tells Ezekiel Mutua

Prominent homosexual George Barasa popularly known as Joji Baro has once again locked horns with Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua.

Joji Baro warns Mutua that he will lose his job if he wages war on homosexuality. The KFCB boss had earlier written a letter to the NGOs coordination board to investigate foreign NGOs suspected of funding homosexuality in Kenya.

Mutua claims Western organizations were funding projects that encourages homosexuality in the country. The KFCB boss states that he would rather lose his job than allow homosexuality to become the order of the day in Kenya.

Jobs

Joji Baro however argues that gay organizations employ people who can’t get jobs in mainstream companies. He claims gay organizations can also generate revenue to the government.

“Ezekiel Mutua I am not surprised that these so called gay organisations as you put it are being funded with “big money”. It is true. As a matter of the fact alot of money has been poured. These gay organisations employ people who can otherwise not be employed by the mainstream companies. They provide services that the gay people cannot access because they are refuse to have sex with people of opposite sex like you. These organisations is registered by the Board of NGOs they can generate alot of tax from the “big money”, wrote Joji Baro in part.

 Diplomatic passport

Joji Baro also warns Mutua that he will end up losing his job if keeps on fighting homosexuality in Kenya. He further brags about being the reason why Mutua lost his diplomatic passport.

“Being gay is not a career. I think you are confusing it with sex work. Even so, sex workers also have their right. Some of these gay sex workers provide services to so many law makers out there. If you think you are too smart just try and touch a gay man who is a partner of someone up there and you will kiss your job goodbye just like how I made you loose your diplomatic passport. Before I forget, the gay money does not belong to everyone but gays alone. Stop being “jealousy husband.” Pilipili usiyoila yakwashiani?” wrote Joji Baro.

“People avoid me because am HIV+” Gay singer Joji Baro reveals things people do to him that really breaks his heart

George Barasa popularly known as Joji Baro has opened up about his struggle being at odds with society. Joji Baro is openly gay and he is also HIV positive – both his sexuality and condition are stigmatized by the Kenyan public.

Joji Baro has had to live in a society that treats him as an outcast. The gay singer is however heartbroken that people just judge him based on his sexuality and condition rather than the content of his character.

“Sometimes I sit down and think I’m not a good singer, but each time I try to make an effort to sing better, institutionalized hate tries to stop me. Am I that bad that no one would like to hear me out?” said Joji Baro on POZ magazine – a publication for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS .

I can’t achieve simple things in life
Joji Baro

Joji Baro also says that finding simple things in life is a major challenge for him. He reveals that he can’t find the love of his life because of his status.

“My family ejected me from home for being gay, and I had to drop out of school due to lack of money. That’s how I became an activist and artist. I have been evicted and arrested countless times for being gay. Against all odds, I have successfully built my niche in the entertainment and human rights sector. What breaks my heart is that I cannot achieve simple things in life, such as finding the love of my life. People avoid me either because I’m openly gay or HIV positive.”

Joji Baro narrates how he had started being straight only for a robbery last week to shove him back to homosexuality

Gay singer George Barasa popularly known as Joji Baro had started ditching homosexual tendencies but he changed his mind after a robbery incident.

Joji was mugged last week but to his surprise no one even attempted to help him or chase after the thieves who robbed him in broad daylight.

The gay singer revealed that passersby just watched as he was being roughed up before the three-man gang made away with his valuables including his phone.

“Last week I was mugged by three people. Two of them sandwiched me and one frisked me and took anything valuable. I lost my phone and all the money I had. No one bothered to defend me or chase them away. I had two appointments later that day but I couldn’t even call. I had to walk in the rain back home,” wrote Joji Baro.

Prior to the robbery, Joji Baro was on recovery from homosexuality. The gay singer did away with his weaves and makeup and had even started going to the gym and learned to speak with a masculine voice.

Joji Baro however went back to being outright gay after the robbery incident apparently because no one gave him a shoulder to cry on.

“So when I finally came back after being disconnected by the reality I sought advice from someone intimate only for him to turn against me and told me to “man up”.
I cut my hair, I gave away my half filled make up kit I even went to gym and I’m learning to speak with a bass. Tell me, how much do I need to do to man up? Life seemed to be so much easier because now that I look like a man so I thought-has made me to be treated roughly like a man. To “Woman it down”, I’m growing my hair back, bring back all the make up I gave you, and no more exercise and no more vocal couching. Life is so much easier as a lady,” Joji Baro wrote.

Controversial gay gospel artist Joji hospitalized after being attacked

Joji Baro is not a new face to the entertainment industry as he remains as the only gay gospel artist in the country. Away from that he is also a human rights activist who has always rooted for the gay community.

He has also been open about his HIV status and though he is positive, George Barasa uses his testimony to encourage those who have given up on life simply because they are sick.

Anyway, word has that the the singer was recently hospitalized after being attacked by one of his housemates. According to Joji who shared a selfie from his hospital bed….the guy who attacked him got angry after he (Joji) confronted him about his harsh behavior that was scaring the rest of their roommates.

However, things did not work out as planned after the guy apparently hit Joji on the head moments after he was asked to move out. Through his social media pages Joji wrote saying,

Someone claiming to be gay and homeless came to me to be hosted. After a few weeks he grew overly rude to everyone and in Sunday I told him we can’t with him anymore and he had to leave as he was scaring the other people in the house. That’s when he struck me. He hit me on the head. I’m told I fell down and lost consciousness. I woke up with a concussion.

He went on to add;

I have lost my sense of hearing to my left ear and its oozing fluids. My jaw is dislocated and makes a cracking sound when I try to talk and Eat.
