Juma Jux reveals he was hurt when Vanessa Mdee moved on with Rotimi

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has revealed how hurt he was when he heard the news that his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Mdee, had moved on with Nigerian-American-based musician and actor Rotimi after their break up.

Jux and Mdee were one of the most talked about couples in East Africa when they were together. After their break up, Mdee moved to the US and started her relationship with Rotimi. Years later, Rotimi and Mdee are engaged and have two children together.

In a recent show in Arusha, Jux told his fans, “I was hurt, I was really hurt for sure.”

Juma Jux dumped by Vanessa Mdee’s look-alike over his involvement with Huddah

Juma Jux and Huddah look like the perfect match, right? However the two continue to insist that they are nothing but good friends making money together. With this, the two recently linked up for a romantic song and judging from the video – well…let’s just say this is what ‘bestie bestie chubwi’ actually means.

Well, rumor now has it that for this reason Jux has now been dumped by the gorgeous dark skinned lady he had been dating. This was revealed by Wasafi TV’s top gossip monger Juma Lokole while speaking to cohost Diva the Bawse, revealing the kind of relationship Huddah and Jux have.

Since their first song, Jux has been seeing Huddah. He told Huddah to come to Tanzania.

About Juma Jux losing his girlfriend who also apparently looks alike ex Vanessa Mdee’s twin; the Wasafi TV presenter went on to narrate;

Remember that girl Jux has been living within his lavish mansion. Let me refresh your memory. Juma Jux has been living with a girl, and I know because we go to the same gym. So during this year’s Valentine, Jux had a huge surprise for a girl he kept gushing about. A dark-skinned girl with beautiful legs. Have you seen how beautiful she is? And that girl resembles Vanessa Mdee because even during that time, Jux shared pictures and we all thought it was Vanessa.

Girlfriend stuck on relationship like glue

Well, having realized he has feelings for Huddah, Jux apparently tried getting rid of his girlfriend but she wouldn’t let go. His reasons for asking her to leave is because he allegedly wanted Huddah to stay at his place; but with the other woman still around – of course this wouldn’t work.

So Jux tried to break up with his girlfriend mimi na wewe kafanya bweka ya kila aina’ – do all kinds of good things but she told Jux she is not leaving his house

However with the music video out accompanied by more romantic photos, the other lady then had no option – but to hit the road at the end of the day.

But then again, these are just rumors from Tanzanian news outlet….however despite being a gossipmonger Juma Lokole always finds credible sources to his stories.

The track dubbed Wewe Tu, which are Swahili words that mean ‘only you’, has been ruling the airwaves since it was released a few hours ago and to be honest, we are also feeling it. Like really.

Izo Bizness

This joint is really infectious. I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and every time I play it, it is like I am hearing it for the very first time.

I love Swahili rap. It’s just different and to add to that it just sounds pleasant to the ears. All I am saying is that I like Izo Bizness’ flow in this track. He really nailed it.

This lad has a unique ability to match random words and come up with dope rhymes that will make your finger stick on the replay button because you want to keep listening to him. He also has some dope punchlines.

Juma Jux

I’m actually ashamed that it is the first time I am listening to any of his songs. Where have I been all my life because I have obviously been missing out on his greatness. Anyway, as they say better late than never.

As expected, Juma Jux also did a good job. This guy can really sing and the way that he does it you can tell that what he is saying is coming from his heart. Put simply, he has an amazing voice that can resonate with many people.

His style also blends well with that of Izo Bizness. I also love the beat and instrumentation on this track, other than it being catchy, it also blends well with the Izo Bizness’ flow as well as Juma Jux’s melodic voice.

Listen to Wewe Tu below and tell us what you think. Kudos to Izo Bizness and Juma Jux.

‘Unaniweza” by Juma Jux is just about love and definitely worth your time(Audio)

Juma Jux seems to be the King of RnB in Tanzania and one of he best in East Africa. Even with the disappointment he sent among his fans when he broke up with fellow super Star Vanessa Mdee the quest to set out his album continued.

The ‘Love album”, has been a major project  for Jux and clearly he is doing a good job. Well, considering he is good at serenades, his fans are loving every song he releases.

Unaniweza

In this new project he has dropped new jam titled “Unaniweza”. A love song of man hailing praises to the love of is life. For a man that is more of a smooth operator, this will definitely resonate with many.

Juma Jux

As we always say love is a beautiful thing and Jux is all about it. I know all fall in love but the madness that happens in between is still what we never understand. But well Jux is in love.

Lyrics

In the lyrical breakdown  Juma Jux talks of how this woman is the only source of his happiness. He says she if she cries he hurts, when she laughs his heart melts with joy. Cliche? No love is all inclusive.

Unaniweza loosely translates to you got me. In his  words  he says, Pindi ukicheka we, Mi moyo unanitabasamu,,,,,

As the album progresses we must give it to him that he has done a good job in the writing and vocal input too. Juma Jux goes on to tell his girl that she is the only one he loves and nobody can break them apart.

Not unless the devil comes in between to destroy their love. Lakini si a cheat is just a cheat? Why would the devil be sought on personal mistakes? mmmhh. Anyway that is what he says.

jux

On the other hand you notice something that seems like an insinuation to what caused their break up with Vanessa.

He says, Labda upite ushetani mwingine, Maneno ya watu nishazoea i don’t care…..Who is that Shetani?I have don’t know yet.

But the obvious fact that Jux is in love and he feels that she is the woman of his dreams.  Let’s hope its for the better .

In the meantime we will enjoy this serenade as we wait for the video. For now I will rate it at 6/10. Tell us what you think.

6 collabos between Kenyan and Tanzanian artists that we’d totally love to see

Kenyan artists have been working with their Tanzanian counterparts a lot more lately so much so that people who don’t like Bongo music, like yours truly, are starting to feel like it’s worth their time.

We’ve seen some impressive collabos between Tanzanian and Kenyan artists in the recent past. Some of the include; Timmy Tdat & Rosa Ree, Willy Paul and Nandy, Bahati and Rayvanny, Juma Jux and Nyashisnki and so on.

In my opinion, we need to see more of these and that’s why I came up with a list of artists who I think should work together because why not? Also there’s the fact that it well grow East African music.

That being said, here’s our wish list of collabos:

1. Nadia Mukami and Juma Jux – After watching their mash up of African Lover on Coke Studio, I think these two should get into studio like yesterday.

2. Rosa Ree and Khaligraph Jones – This collabo should have happened a long time ago. I mean why not? Both artists are bad-ass rappers and they would really kill it on one track.

3. Otile Brown & Vanessa Mdee – I’m not quite sure about this but something tells me that a collabo between them would be totally fire. I’m looking forward to the day they will give us a treat.

4. Arrow Bwoy and Rayvanny –  I live for the day these two musicians will release a song together. Thinking about it just gives me goosebumps. If a collabo between them comes to pass, it will be the biggest song of the year.

5. Nyashisnki and Nandy – I feel like a collabo between these two would be pure bliss. Nandy’s smooth vocals would really blend in well Nyashisnki’s rap. Get into studio guys!

6. Vivian and Darassa – This is another one that I’m not quite sure about. However, I feel like a rap-infused song with Vivian’s vocals would be totally fire.

Men who listen to Bongo music, have we lost our masculinity?

Tanzanian music is big in Kenya. This is a fact of life and from the look of things, this will be the case for a long time to come. It’s just what it is.

If you are keen enough, you’ll notice that the top trending songs on YouTube (Kenya) are usually Tanzanian songs. As we speak, Diamond’s latest single dubbed The One is occupying the number one spot.

Before that, Harmonize’s Kainama was trending at number one and before that it was probably another Wasafi song or a song the likes of Aslay, Shetta Juma Jux, Darassa or even Ali Kiba. The point is, the biggest song in Kenya on most occasions is always a Tanzanian song.

There’s no explanation for this other than the fact that musicians from that country are very consistent and then there’s the obvious fact that their music is good. From the videos, to the lyrics down to the beat, everything is always top-notch.

Naturally, if you are a music fan, whether male or female, you’ll find yourself vibing to these songs never mind the fact that they are Bongo songs. Let’s be honest, when a song is good, it’s good there are no two ways about it.

I was recently having a conversation with some friends and I thought I should ask them what their thoughts are on men who listen to Bongo music. My question was driven by the fact that Tanzanian jams are always trending in Kenya.

Some of them claimed they would never listen to such songs. If they did, they would come off as weak men. Others, however, admitted that they listen to Bongo music because the songs are infectious. Incase you were wondering, I fall in the latter category. I listen to Tanzanian songs once in a while. Yup!

Truth is, no music genre is a preserve of a certain gender. It’s just the way the society has shaped our thinking. From a young age, men are taught to be tough while ladies are seen as soft. Perhaps this explains why men are drawn to Hip Hop while ladies are drawn to Bongo music, R&B and what not.

This should not be the case. Men should not feel like they are losing their masculinity because they love Bongo music. It’s totally okay to enjoy music that you feel is good. There’s absolutely no shame in it.

Diamond Platnumz

Allow me to say this again, “No music genre is a preserve of a certain gender.” If you enjoy Bongo music, knock yourself out, it doesn’t make you any  less of a man. And no, I’m not telling you to listen to Tanzanian songs at the expense of Kenyan music.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Feel free to leave a comment below.

Vanessa Mdee with Juma Jux
