Rapper Kahush Sparks Controversy After Claiming To Have Sold His Soul

Kenyan rapper Kahush has sparked controversy after claiming to have sold his soul. The 25-year-old artist made the revelation during a question and answer session on Instagram, prompting mixed reactions from his fans.

Some fans believe that Kahush is simply referring to his dedication to music, while others believe that he is being serious. Some fans have even accused him of trying to generate attention before releasing a new song.

Kahush is the son of former health CS Mutahi Kagwe. He rose to fame in 2019 after dropping the hit single “Mi Siwezi.” He has since released several other popular songs, including “Maisha,” “When I Rap,” and “Fika.”

Kahush is based in the UK. His latest album, “Uptown Chokora,” was released in July 2023. The album is a reflection of the dual nature of a human being, according to Kahush. He worked with several other artists on the album, including Nessy, Boutross, Korb, and Breeder.

The controversy surrounding Kahush’s claim to have sold his soul is likely to continue for some time. However, one thing is for sure: the young rapper is not afraid to stir up the pot.

It’s been a while since Kahush dropped a new song but hey – we ain’t complaining since his latest posts suggest he has been working on his personal life; and sadly ladies, the hot fella seems to have recently bagged himself a hottie and no, she ain’t your average girl!

The new kid on the block left most of his female fans heart broken after unveiling a photo of the lady he has been dating for the few months (If not weeks) and yes, she is a hot dark chocolate skinned lass with a simple but classy taste in fashion.

Just like her man, the lady looks a cool kid and looking at her photos; it’s obvious to see that there is some class – and trust me it’s not the forced slay queen kinda vibe.

Marriage?

Well having introduced her to his fans, Kahush recently held a QnA session where he gave fans a chance to interact with him. Of course there are those fans who inquired about his new music; and those who couldn’t wait to ask about his personal life. Like you.

What caught our attention most is the fact that Kahush got to talk about his future plans with the lady; and turns out that he is not in the relationship for fun and games but for life.

He revealed this while responding to a fans who asked;

Betty Kyallo was smitten after coincidentally running into CS Kagwe’s son Kahush at the convenient store and she could not hide her excitement soon as they parted ways.

The known bubbly TV girl was out and about running errands with her sisters and daughter, when they ran into Kahush while shopping.

Spilling finer details during her latest vlog, the mother of one, had opted to let it a bit loose and sassy on the sunny day, with a funky white off-shoulder top and some skinny jeans.

So what happened, Betty was on the queue with the girls waiting to pay for their items before Karen spotted a familiar face right behind Betty, then it struck her that it is Kahush.

A disbelieving Betty just went about her business. But just after she was done paying and leaving for the outside, she looked back, only to be utterly shocked that Karen was actually right. There was Kahush.

The two had a chit-chat, having met for the first time, had a couple of photos before parting. Well, hardly did Kahush know how star-struck he had left a dear Betty Kyallo who was flattered by the rapper’s presence.

For a minute, Betty’s heart had stopped, her legs feeling a bit feeble and her ego unable to let her admit that she had a crush on the guy. On getting back to the car, the ladies could not get over Kahush’s cool vibe.

“Aww, those dreadlocks. Then he hugged me three times. I think he was happy to see me, but I was happier,” Betty Kyallo admitted.

Confessing she even asked for his number and he sure dished it out. Before admitting that given a chance, she would not mind featuring as a vixen in the rapper’s next video and even catch up at some later time.

Plus, she felt like her world and that of Kahush merge at some point and would not hesitate to date the guy, given a chance.

Kahush is the latest guest to be featured on jalang’o TV and boy were his fans waiting to know the young singer; especially since he keeps his private life off social media, if not talking about music.

Well, his interview with Jalang’o was not any different; but at least we finally got to learn a thing a two about the now celebrated artist. Speaking to Jalang’o for the first time – Kahush not only revealed the inspiration behind his ‘Me siwezi‘ stop; and turns out that it was dedicated to an ex.

Just like most young men, Kahush understands the pain a heartache comes with. However thanks to his musical skills, he decided to use the negative energy into better use; and now we have another hit song putting the Kenyan music on the map.

About the ladies!

As usual Jalang’o had to make conversation with the cool kid who he went on to ask a few questions regarding his preference in women. When asked who he prefers between short and tall girls; just like any other man, he chose to go for both.

However, there is one thing about women that turns him off completely. Well, as for those women who like to lie a lot, well let’s just say that Kahush will not be looking your way; now or in future.

For those that had already drawn conclusions about Health CS Kagwe’s son Kahush, Kamene Goro’s recent encounter with him stands to prove you wrong.

The basic assumption was that being a Kenyan cool kid born to one of the country’s now most talked about individuals, Kahush would be all bossy and flossy whenever in public but just like you and me, Kamene Goro was left awestruck.

Kahush explained

During their morning show on Kiss FM, Kamene and Jalang’o shed light on the kind of kid Kahush is after crossing paths with him on Friday and trust you me, his humility, high level of discipline and respect for everyone stood out most.

According to Kamene, he was very well disciplined, well brought up, with very polished English, very humble and kind and this left her perturbed.

“I was so impressed with how he is good mannered,” she jerked. Her co-host, Jalas on the other end elaborated further recalling a time he sat with Kahush and had a chat with him and to the comedian’s utter surprise, the kid did not care about his dad or who he is.

“He’s not his father’s son. He’s him,” explained Jalas. Surprisingly, Kahush was not the kind who would brag about his family background or whose child he is, instead, he identified himself as he is, so humbled and very respectful towards people.

This saw the two Kiss FM hosts attack children of individuals who are not even presidents, but always brag about where they come from and are very rude and indiscipline.

“He says that his music and his dad’s politics don’t mix. He leads his own life. But there are people here whose dad’s are just MCAs and they go bragging all over, feeling like they can step on everyone else. Usituletee!” Jalang’o loudly bashed.

Chris Kaiga and Kahush have revolutionized Kenyan music

By now, I am sure you’ve heard the new track by Chris Kaiga and Kahush titled Mastingo. It was released a few days ago and the world as we know it literally came to a standstill. I’m not exaggerating.

These two fast-rising musicians have proven that they have what it takes to revolutionize Kenyan music since they opted for a different style of music, rather than doing Gengetone as most people would expect, and it is working for them.

Kahush

For starters, Chris Kaiga is such a talented musician. He needs no introduction. While his peers were popularizing the Gengetone sound, he opted for something he refers to as Debe and he has been acing it.

His style is very unique and that is what sets him apart. To add to that, Kaiga has a smooth flow and the ability to make random words rhyme. If you start listening to him you will find it so hard to stop.

On the other hand, Kahush – who is Health CS Mutahi Kagwe’s son – is also amazing. As you listen to him, one of the things that stand out is his vocal arrangement. Maybe it’s just me but his style has an element of trap, only that it has been Kenyanized.

Now imagine these two coming together on a track. It’s no surprise that Mastingo has crossed the 250,000 mark 4 days after it was released. This track is something else ladies and gentlemen.

If you ask me, this is the direction that upcoming musicians should take now that Gengetone has become a thing of the past. The music is clean and, other than that it has a party vibe.

I’ve seen people comparing Chris Kaiga and Kahush to Camp Mulla and although the styles are similar theirs is more relatable because they sing in Swahili.
