Magix Enga brings Ex Ray on board for ‘Gwala Remix’ (Video)

The original version of Magix Enga’s Gwala was a hit but the remix is totally out of this world because it features the one and only Ex Ray – who is one third of Rieng’ hitmakers Boondocks Gang.

I have been jamming to it since it was released a few days ago and believe you me, Gengetone has never sounded this amazing ladies and gentlemen.

Both Magix Enga and Ex Ray are amazing lyricists with unique voices and maybe that’s the reason why this jam is so infectious. It’s like have the very best on one track.

Just like his previous releases, Ex Ray demonstrated his unique ability to play around with words. He’s interesting to listen to because his rhymes are random yet impeccable.

For instance, there is a line where he says, “Ita toto akuje nikadoe, nina rungu na ngeus ni kadonye kuna giza hakuna to ma goe, beba riz nikuingize ndani soe, ni ma bush bush ntakuingiza fore, ni ku dush dush ntakuingiza chore.”

I know that line does not make any sense, don’t even bother yourself with figuring it all out. It sounds pleasant to the ears and that is all that matters at this point, don’t you agree?

Magix Enga also came through on this jam. Other than laying an infectious hook, he also proved to us one again that he can rap and I tell you this chap has a mad flow.

The beat and instrumentation is also on point. Anyway, I wasn’t expecting anything less seeing as it was produced by Magix Enga himself.

The video didn’t change much from the original version but I think it’s just okay. However, I didn’t really like how he superimposed Ex Ray’s picture during his part but then again maybe that’s just me. Anyway, Kudos Magix Enga.

King Kaka enlists Maima in latest release ‘Mbesa’ (Video)

Celebrated Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known as King Kaka, has released a new jam dubbed Mbesa with Kamba Benga singer Alphonse Kioko, alias Kithungo Raha Maima.

This jam, which is off King Kaka’s Eastlando Royalty album, is about how money runs the world and how people are willing to go to extreme lengths to have more of it and how it’s elusive.

The first time you hear Mbesa you will wonder what was going through the minds of Maima and the Wajinga Nyinyi hitmaker as they were recording this song but after hearing it thrice, you’ll acknowledge that it’s a masterpiece.

This track was a result of King Kaka’s brilliant mind. It’s those collaborations that you do not see coming because you think it might be whack but when you finally hear it, you are really impressed.

He has done what most Kenyan artists would be caught dead doing and I think it’s very commendable. The best part is the fact that you don’t understand Maima’s verses, which are in Kamba, can’t stop you from enjoying this song.

Mbesa begins with Maima singing in his native language with a Benga beat playing in the background, the beat then switches up when it’s King Kaka turn and he flows like he means business.

If you ask me, this track is the biggest collabo of 2020. I know there might be some future releases that you probably be better than this one but it will go down in history.

I really love the instrumentation on Mbesa. It’s quite impeccable. I was only surprised that it was produced by Magix Enga. I mean, who would have thought? He is without a doubt the most versatile Kenyan producer ever.

I love also the video for this jam, especially its simplicity. Although it’s kind of modern, the director tried to maintain the theme synonymous with Kamba Benga. Props to him.

Magix Enga recruits Shappaman on new banger tagged ‘Fake’ (Video)

Like many people, I was a huge fan of Camp Mulla in their heyday and that explains my excitement when I saw that a former member of the group – Shappaman – has teamed up with Magix Enga on a new jam.

The song titled Fake simply talks about how we surround ourselves with people who do not have our best interests at heart while lying to ourselves that they do.

More than anything, Fake proves that Magix Enga is one of the most versatile artists that we have in Kenya right now because his style here is different from the norm.

Although this jam kind of is mellow, Magix Enga managed to sneak in some impeccable rhymes in his verse that will definitely make you scratch  your head as you try to make sense of it all.

As expected, Shappaman also killed it. You know we have gotten used to him as an uptown rapper and I was actually surprises that some of his lines were in Swahili and they were sounding just okay.

This jam bridges the gap between uptown and Gengetone artists and I’m not surprised that the outcome is more than exceptional. I really love it.

I’m not saying that the beat and instrumentation are bad, they are actually really dope and catchy. Its only that it will take time for many of us to get used to the slow tempo and mellow vibe.

Magix Enga, who’s one of the most sought after producers in the country at the moment, has proven yet again that he is jack of all trades after dropping a new jam dubbed Gwala.

Basically, this song is about a beautiful lady that the beat maker-cum-singer is interested in and says he will go out of his way to make her his.

I am sure most of the guys who are reading this have found themselves in similar situations before. You spend all the money that you have thinking it’s the best way to win a lady’s heart and impress her but it really isn’t.

Anyway, I really love this track. It’s so infectious and as you listen to it, you can’t help but notice that Magix Enga has an amazing voice, gender notwithstanding. This dude can really sing.

As you listen to him, you can tell that there is a lot of sincerity in his voice so much so that you would think that some beautiful lady out there is giving him sleepless night and you would not be wrong.

The beat is also impeccable. It slaps really hard, especially if you listen to Gwala on a good system or with some good earphones.

The video concept is simple. I, however, feel that it works for this song. To add to that, there is a hot vixen that I can’t takes my eyes off of.

Boondocks Gang drops new hit titled ‘Kawazim’ alongside Sailors and Magix Enga (Video)

One of the collabos that many people, including yours truly, have really been looking forward to since the Gengetone sound emerged is between Sailors Gang and Boondocks Gang.

We’ve longed for the day when the two groups which have been instrumental in pushing the new Kenyan sound will come together on one song and after what seemed like a never-ending wait, that that day is finally here.

A few days ago, Boondocks Gang released a track dubbed Kawazim in which they have featured Sailors Gang and the award-winning producer Magix Enga and it’s getting a lot of love from their fans.

This jam is impeccable. As you listen to it, you get to appreciate the sheer creativity of these youngsters as well as the evolution of the Kenyan sound.

Although all the artists on this jam had some dope verses, if I was asked to pick one who I think really aced it then I’d go for Magix Enga. He has a good flow s much so that I kept rewinding his part.

Other than him, I was also impressed by Miracle Baby and of course Odi Wa Murang’a. I am not saying the rest were whack, it’s just that I resonated with the three aforementioned artists.

The beat on this jam is also infectious. Anyway, I was not expecting anything less seeing as it was produced by Magix Enga himself. Believe you me, you can’t resist the urge to dance as you listen to track.

Talented producer and singer has released a new joint and it seems like a diss track but for some reason I can’t figure out who it’s directed to.

In the track dubbed Shashula, Magix Enga heaps praise on himself while telling off people who have made a habit of criticizing Kenyan musicians and their songs.

In one of the verses, the producer says, “Mi ni king na wewe ni kidosho, umbwa wewe cheza Davido kwako usituletee hizo mangoma za kitoto, cheza mangoma za kenya si makwaito, kujipendekeza na radi sio ya babako.”

While we can’t tell who Magix Enga is throwing punches at, we have to acknowledge his unique ability to play around with words and make some dope rhymes.

I’ve listened to this jam a couple of times since it came out and every time I play it, it’s like I am hearing it for the first time. Yup, it’s that good and maybe, just maybe, Magix is better at singing that at producing beats.

One of the things struck me about this jam is that it’s very different. I don’t know what sound this is but it’s definitely not Gengetone and he still aced it.

As expected, the beat on this jam is sick. It slaps s hard, especially if you have a good system or headphones. You will not want it to end.

About the video, man I don’t really know. I saw some people on the YouTube comments section saying that Magix is a member of the Illuminati sect because of the effects that he had used on the video. I found it hilarious.

Talented producer and singer Magix Enga has released a new jam alongside Arrow Bwoy and Boondocks Gang’s Odi Wa Murang’a and it’s really dope.

The song titled Banana has been ruling the airwaves since it was released a few days ago and to be honest, we’re also feeling it.

If you thought the likes of Odi Wa Murang’a can only sing about sex, drugs and crime then you should brace yourself because this jam is very different, in a good way though.

Believe it or not, Banana is a love song. While I’m not sure if it’s the direction that Gengetone artists should go, I love it because it’s a breath of fresh air.

Once again Magix Enga has proven that he is a jack of all trades. The way he sings his out in this jam, you would even mistake for Chris Brown. Okay, I’m pushing it but you get my point, don’t you?

To add to that award-winning producer has a melodious voice, the kind that you just want to keep listening to gender notwithstanding.

We are used to Arrow Bwoy releasing love songs and that means that there’s not much that I can say about him other than acknowledging him for throwing his weight behind this project.

On the other hand, there’s so much to say about Odi Wa Murang’a since he showed us a side of him that many people were not even aware of.

Other than the fact that he sang in Kikuyu and made it sound like French, there’s a part where he is twenging it make you wonder if he’s the same person with risque lyrics on Rieng, Mboko Haram, Mathogothanio and whatnot.

The beat, which was produced by Magix Enga, is also subtle but that does not mean that it’s whack. Actually, I really love it. Although I felt like the video was too simple, it’s still dope.

Ex Ray, Magix Enga, Timmy, Kristoff, Jua Cali and Harry Craze drop highly-anticipated jam ‘Nyoka Ya Shaba’ (Video)

The much-awaited track by Andrew Kibe, Kamene Goro, Xtian Dela, Ex Ray, Magix Enga, Timmy Tdat, Kristoff, Jua Cali and Harry Craze titled Nyoka Ya Shaba is finally out and it is eliciting mixed reactions from their fans.

Although the song, which was released a few days ago, has been rocking the airwaves it has left Kenyans wondering if Gengetone is on its deathbed with some saying the sound has become too cliche and/or predictable.

I have listened to the jam a couple of times since it came out and to be honest, I so indifferent because part of me was wowed and at the same time I feel there is nothing to write home about it.

I must give it to the musicians who were featured in this jam. I really loved how they were playing around with words and their rhymes were also sick.

If I had to pick 3 artists whose flow totally jazzed me then I’d settle on Timmy Tdat, Harry Craze and of course Baba Yao himself Jua Cali.

I’m not saying that Kristoff, Ex Ray and Magix Enga didn’t come through on Nyoka Ya Shaba, they actually did. The hook by the latter is so infectious that you will fill yourself singing along in no time.

Kristoff, who is often referred to as the King of Collabos, also aced it. His verse is so catchy and I am pretty sure you won’t forget the part where he said, “Niaje Kamene (mambo), kam nikukiss hii si Kameme (eiii).”

The artists who were featured in this song were well-thought out because their styles complement each other. Think of it like having the best of different worlds. I only wish they had included Rekless or Swat Mtoto Wa Eunice.

The beat by Magix Enga was sick. As you listen to this song, you can picture people busting moves to it at a party or a club.

The video, which was directed by the one and only VJ One, was also impeccable. Other than the sexy vixens, you will also agree with me that it had some dope shots and the scene transitioning was flawless.

In as much as I love this jam, I have to say that as you listen to it you can feel that Gengetone is dead because it does not slap as hard as the songs which were released in 2019 but then again maybe it’s just me.

Unlike most celebrities who prefer keeping their parents off social media, Magix Enga seems to have opted for a different style as he recently introduced his mother to his social media family.

In his caption the couldn’t hold back from thanking his mama for all times she took her time to pray for him. Magix Enga also went on to express his undying love to the Queen that carried him for 9 months and raised him!

Talented Producer-cum-singer Magix Enga has escalated his ‘beef’ with Tanzanian singer Harmonize after throwing shade at him in his latest release featuring Zzero Sufuri, Nuclear and Mkadule.

The song dubbed Twa Twa was inspired by a viral clip that showed a pastor known as Susan Munene of Overcomers Hope Ministry in Kasarani.

She urged couples to engage in intimacy anywhere and everywhere claiming that it was the only Game that was made by God unlike football, netball and rugby.

“Kama kuna kitu inatufanya tuwe kitu kimoja na pastor ni sex, us we can have sex anywhere, kwa gari ni twa twa kwa kitchen twa twa everywhere,” Munene explained.

As you would expect, many Kenyan artists decided to jump on the bandwagon and have been releasing songs to take advantage of the viral clip. The latest of course, is the one by Magix Enga.

Out of all the Twa Twa versions that I have heard, I think this the catchiest one. It just flows. From the moment you hit the play button you just know that it;s about to get lit.

Apart form the fact that Magix Enga is rapping in this song (we are used to him singing), I also loved that he mocked Harmonize days after he issued a copyright strike on the latter’s latest release dubbed Uno.

As you would expect, Zzero Sufuri came through on this jam. He really aced his verse. Seriously though, when has he ever disappointed us? This chap is a legend.

I also liked Mkadule’s verse. This guy has some mad rhymes and cheeky wordplay and you just want to keep listening to him as he goes about his business.

The beat was also on point. Anyway, I was not expecting anything less seeing as it was produced by Magix Enga. Can you trust him if he can’t make a dope beat for himself? I guess not.

“Challenges will never kill you!” Harmonize gloats after Uno is uploaded back on YouTube

Singer Harmonize has been keeping a low profile after Kenyan producer Magix Enga went on to pull down ‘Uno’ over copyright issues as reported by Enga.

Apparently Harmonize sampled Magix Enga’s Dundaing beats for his new Uno hit song and from the look of things; it did not turn out so well.

Uno was pulled down from YouTube about a week ago but finally got re-uploaded just a few hours ago.

Well after Magix Enga’s stunt, Harmonize has finally opened up about the issue through his Instagram page where he went on to write saying;

“I will release my copyright strike on Uno” Magix Enga forgives Harmonize

After pulling down Uno from YouTube, singer and music producer Magix Enga has promised to have the Uno video re-uploaded as he has chosen to release his copyright strike against Harmonize.

The music producer made the announcement through his Instagram where he revealed that popular and celebrated music producer   Clemmo convinced him to have the video uploaded back on YouTube since what matters is helping each other grow!

Through his social media pages Magix Enga wrote;

Celebrated producer-cum singer Magix Enga has released a new song with Masauti and Zikki and it is getting a lot of love from their fans.

The jam dubbed Mr. Deejay is dedicated to all the mix masters around the country and outside since they are the life of the party. I don’t know what we would be going to do in clubs or parties without them.

I love this song because it brought the best of different worlds together and the outcome was absolutely amazing that you will have this track on replay for a while.

You see, Kenyan Bongo was well represented by Masauti, Zikki brought a bit of a Ragga vibe while Magix Enga did a hook and verse that lean more towards R&B and a bit of Gengetone and this why Mr Deejay is such a big tune.

To add to that, their verses on this jam were so catchy and you want to keep listening to them as they flow. It’s such a beautiful time to be alive.

As you would expect, the beat on this track is also on point because what good is Magix Enga’s talent if he cant make a dope beat for himself?

Producer Magix Enga has been forced to go private on Instagram shortly after Uno was deleted from YouTube.

This comes shortly after the music producer called out Harmonize for allegedly copying the beats he used to create Uno.

An excited Magix Enga went on to brag after the video was deleted not knowing that this was just the beginning of all his troubles with the thousands of Tanzanian fans on Instagram.

Well, producer Magix Enga has once again gone ahead to ask Harmonize to pull down Uno which he claims the Bongo star copy pasted from Dundaing produced by Enga and things are getting heated!

According to the renowned music producer, he is now tired and will pull Uno down if Harmonize continues to ignore him.

Thanks to a post seen by Ghafla, Magix Enga has told Harmonize not to offer him any money since he can’t even afford to fuel the cars he rolls around with. Enga wrote;

Singer-cum-producer Magix Enga has released a new jam with Odi Wa Murang’a and Ex Ray from Boondocks Gang,  The Kansoul – which is made up of Mejja Madtraxx, Kid Kora – Dufla & King Kaka.

The song titled Bad Gyal has been receving massive airplay on local TV and radio stations since it was released a few days ago.

There are several reasons why I love this song. The first is because the beat is really crisp. It slaps really hard and you just want to keep listening to it.

Magix Enga really did a good job on the beat. You get the feeling that he didn’t come to play from the moment you hit the play button.

The second reason is that the lyricism in this jam is dope. The new-age and and old-age artists who were featured on it really came through.

If I had to pick my favourites from each side, I’ll obviously side with Madtraxx and Odi Wa Murang’a. In my opinion, their verses were really tight.

Wa also have to applaud Magix Enga for his dope hook. It’s really infectios, especially because of how he sounds.

However, I must say that I wasn’t really impressed by the video. Maybe you have a different line of thought but I feel it was too plain and boring nevermind the fact that they had some beautiful vixens who were shaking it.

Producer-cum-singer Magix Enga has released a new jam titled Jojo and we’re really feeling it ladies and gentlemen.

This song is about a lass, presumably beautiful, who is giving Magix Enga many sleepless nights and he is ready to do anything to win her heart.

In as much as I love this song, I must admit that at some point it kind of felt boring, especially because he kept saying Jojo so many damn times.

As expected, Magix Enga’s delivery in this jam was awesome. He has this unique voice and that you just want to keep listening to him. I know that sounds weird coming from a guy but it’s the truth.

The beat and instrumentation on this jam is also dope. Anyway, I wasn’t expecting anything less since Magix Enga is such a bad ass producer. If he can’t make a dope beat for himself then what’s the point?

The animation in this video is also great since it helps paint a better picture of what he’s singing about. In my opinion it was executed so beautifully.

Magix Enga Vs Motif Di Don: Who is the baddest producer?

These days, almost every song begins with the words, “Motif Di Don” or “Magix Enga on the beat”. You would be tempted to think that the two are the only music producers in the country which is not the case.

While the are are countless music producers in Kenya, the work of Magix Enga and Motif Di Don really stands out. They have a distinct approach and this explains why they are a cut above the rest and the most-sought after beat makers.

Magix Enga has worked with the likes of Otile Brown, Timmy Tdat, Arrow Bwoy, KRG The Don, P-Unit, Zzero Sufuri, Ethic, Alvindo, King Kaka, Kristoff, Khaligraph Jones, Prezzo, Naiboi, Mejja, Rankaddah. The list is endless.

On the other hand, Motif Di Don has produced songs for Masauti, Ethic, Otile Brown, Khaligraph Jones, Masterpiece, Nadia Mukami, Qritical, Pro & Lava Lava and Rayvanny who are both Tanzanian singers.

If you are a fan of Kenyan music, like yours truly, then I’m sure you’ve seen your favourite local musician in the aforementioned names. What’s even more is that most of them are big acts which also means that Magix Enga and Motif Di Don are the baddest producers around.

In as much as they are both incredible and doing their very best to grow the local industry, at the end of the day, one of them has to be better than the other and that’s what I want to find out from you. I’d like to know your perspective of them.

Otile Brown and Ethic have finally dropped their collabo ‘Dala Dala’ and it’s a massive hit (Video)

What a time to be alive, like really! Who thought we’d one day see Otile Brown and Ethic on one track? I bet none of you did.

Well, that day is finally here. A few hours ago, the two Kenyan music powerhouses dropped a jam dubbed Dala Dala and as expected, it slaps really hard!

The little Swahili I know tells me that dala dala is mini bus or a matatu if you like.

However, in the context of this song, it signifies that life is a journey i.e, you need to travel but it can cost you, hence dala dala. You get it?

Ethic Entertainment

Of course we are used to Otile Brown singing along to a Bongo beat but do you know what’s better that? It’s Swat and Seska vibing to it.

My best part of course was by Seska! in my opinion, he really killed it! He outdid himself on this track.

There’s a part where he says, “Nikikupea silver goro ntapea Kamene, ju mimi ni girimba kuwashia kama meme.”

If this is not greatness then I really don’t know what is! I honestly don’t know ladies and gentlemen.

Side note: We really missed Rekless and Zilla on this jam. I could not help but imagine how they would have aced this beats.

Everything about this song is on point, from the scene transitions to the beat which was produced by Magix Enga.

Actually, if I was to rate it I would confidently give it an 11 (eleven) out of 10, but I’ll let you be the judge.

Krg The Don and Magix Enga set high standards on their new collabo dubbed ‘We Run This’ (Video)

After so much hype, Krg The Don and Magix Enga finally dropped their collabo dubbed We Run This a week (or so) ago.

The song has a dancehall vibe and as you watch the video, you’ll notice that they went out of their way on this jam.

From the amazing drone shots to the expensive vehicles, the location, everything looks so fresh.

The beat, which was done by Magix Enga was also quite impressive, I loved the fact that it’s not noisy like most dancehall beats. You’ll notice this as well.

However, I have to say that I felt let down by the lyrical composition of this song. The words in this song are totally uninspired. Feel free to correct me if yo think I’m wrong.

It’s almost as if they are repeating the same words from the beginning of the song up to the end and it’s so irritating.

I also didn’t like the fact that they used the words like rieng. They should leave such to new-age musicians.

Maybe, just maybe, the intention of this song was just to show Kenyan or artists that the can actually do an expensive video. Perhaps, Krg just wanted to show off. Dude, we know you are rich!

The video was directed by the one and only Deska Torres and I think he outdid himself.

King Kaka is releasing so many songs but nobody cares

If was asked to name a Kenyan artist who has released the most song, I’d confidently say King Kaka. Well, I could also be wrong.

My point is King Kaka has been putting a lot of effort. It’s almost as if he has a new song every month, sometimes it’s two new songs. And by song I mean a music video.

He really stands out from Kenyan artists who wait for two or three months to release new music.

However, in as much as he is releasing so many songs, including collabos with international artists, very few of them are hits and this begs the question, why?

You see, the Kenyan music culture is terrible and it’s partly to blame. We want to hear one song over and over at the expense of other songs.

This is the reason why most Kenyan artists don’t release albums. Our TV and radio stations usually pick a few songs and have them on heavy rotation for a couple of month until their audiences are fed up.

While they are focusing on one song, other songs by the same artist or different artists don’t get a chance. Put simply, they are starved.

Take for instance Dundaing which was released by King Kaka in October last year. It went on to become one of the biggest songs in 2019.

Interestingly, he has released more than 10 new music videos after the mega hit but no one seems to care. The dismal YouTube views confirms this.

Why? It’s because media houses had Dundaing on heavy rotation or a hit by another artist. It’s just what it is.

Music fans are also to blame because we don’t entirely rely on TV and radio stations because of YouTube and other music platforms.

Finally! Alvin drops the full version of his song ‘Taka Taka’ for all other heartbroken boy-child out there

Kenyans for the better part of last week have been entertained by a young man named Alvin who released a snippet of his song named “Taka Taka” which involves him ruthlessly tearing his ex-lover apart.

The song has been trending for days now as Kenyans enjoy the funny, yet emotional lyrics as a bitter Alvin shreds his lady after she rejected him.

The singer recently went to studio and finished up the song as Kenyans begged for the full version.

“Taka Taka” audio has now been released and Kenyans can jam to it as they wait for the video. Interestingly, the song was produced by Magix Enga, a top producer in the industry. Well, let’s wait and see if Alvin, who started out as comedian, will be the next Msupa S and take over the industry.
