Basically, this song is about a lady who is driving the artist crazy and he is trying to convince her to get it on with him for reasons best known to him.

I must admit that I’m a huge fan of Raj. If you listen to his verses keenly, I know you will agree with me that he is one creative chap.

He has a unique ability to match random words and make impeccable rhymes. To add to that, his flow is so dope and he makes it look so damn easy.

Notably, Jay Papi and J Nisher also spiced up this song because they broke the monotony that would have been there if Raj was all alone.

Jay Papi has some good wordplay. Although it was my first time listening to him, it is definitely not my last. This lass who is known as J Nisher also has a mad flow and I just wish that her verse was longer.

The beat on this track is so sick. Other than the fact that it’s catchy, it also blends well with the rappers’ styles as well as their tempos. The producer, Lucky, outdid himself on this one.

The joint dubbed Njoo, which is a Swahili word that means come, is the twenty fifth record off of his Bae Tuesday 2.0 signature weekly series  where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until now.

Basically, this song is about a guy who is trying to convince his lady that they should stop quarreling and talk over the things that are causing differences between them.

I really love this jam. Actually, I have been listening to it on replay since it came out and every time I play it, it’s like I am listening to it for the very first time. Yup, it’s that good.

More than anything, Njoo proves that Raj is one of the versatile artists that we have in Kenya. We have always known him to be a rapper but in this song, he literally sings his heart out.

Although there’s some mild rap in of the verses, his vocal prowess still stands out and yes, it is so pleasant to the ears so much so that I wished for a moment that he could ditch rapping for good.

The beat and instrumentation on this jam is also perfect. Apart from the fact that it blends really well with Raj’s style and tempo, it’s also very catchy and you might just find yourself dancing to this jam.

New Music Alert! Gospel singer Raji enlists Tanzanian singer Gold Boy for new collabo

Gospel singer Enos Raji has released a banger with Tanzania’s vocal king of covers, Gold Boy, dubbed “WASAMEHE”.

Raji is a talented Kenyan based urban gospel artiste that has been working hard towards giving quality music and bring change in the industry.

Raji, who has also released such tunes as Mama and Ninangoja, has beaten all odds to rise in the music industry and make quality music, a reason why he has worked with Golden boy who is from Tanzania. The Kenyan singer is managed and mentored by Peter Burugu Gachugu, MD-world plastics co. Ltd.

Hard work

Describing their new song, the gospel singer said that it’s a combination of an emotional tune where the artistes cry to God to forgive the human race for their shortcomings since all human beings are born, raised and live to sin.

He speaks of real-life instances where people have wronged him even in his music career but still prays to God to forgive them.

The song has been produced, shot and directed by one of Kenyan recording label Safri Records, which has worked with artists such as David Wonder, Dar Mjomba and Vixy chosen.

Odi Wa Murang’a has linked up with Raj, Ashmaley and Babito on ‘Dhugudha’ and it’s too lit (Video)

Talented Kenyan singer Odi Wa Murang’a, who is one third of Rieng hitmakers Boondocks Gang, has released a new project with Raj, Babito Mlynchez and Ashmaley and it’s getting a lot of love.

The song dubbed Dhugudha, which is a Sheng’ word that means derriere, has been getting a lot of airplay on local TV and radio stations since it was released a few days ago.

Odi Wa Murang'a
Odi Wa Murang’a

I don’t know about you but this song made me appreciate Gengetone even more because it’s so damn catchy. It is the kind of songs that leaves you wondering why you weren’t born a musician.

The lyricism on this jam is really dope. Other than Odi Wa Murang’a and Raj – who we all know are talented – I must say that I was impressed by Babito. This lad has some dope flow. If you ask me, I’ll tell you that he totally nailed it.

As expected, Odi Wa Murang’a also did a good job. Apart from his witty rhymes, this guy has a deep voice that makes you hooked to his verse.

If you know me, then you know that I am such a huge fan of Rajiv Okemwa, better known as Raj. In my eyes he can’t do wrong so we’ll give him a pass.

The beat for this jam, which was produced by Sadafa, was also dope. I was literally dancing on the seat while writing this review. Props to him.

The song dubbed Pretty Gal Dem is the sixteenth record off his Raj’s Bae Tuesday 2.0 weekly series where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until December in anticipation for his BAE2 (Beautiful And Exquisite2) album.

This jam is really dope. I have been listening to it on repeat since it was released a few days ago and I am not about to stop.

Wakali Wao
Wakali Wao

Apart from the arrangement, I really loved the flow by the artists, especially the two chaps who make up Wakali Wao and that is Iano Ranking and Kim Swat. They are really dope ladies and gentlemen.

Notably, Raj also did a good job. The hook for this jam is very catchy and chances are you will master it the first time you listen to it or maybe the second time.

To be honest I’m also starting to like Lofe’s musical approach. This is the fourth song by him that I have heard and he is slowly winning me over with his impeccable punchlines.

While the beat on this song is really on point, one thing that will definitely catch your eye is the video. There is a lass who is shaking it like she means business. It’s just so good!

The song dubbed One is the is the sixth record off his Bae Tuesday weekly series where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until December.

As the title suggests, this song is about being picked by a lady as the one i.e. a destined life partner who will stick with her come what may.

Alu Vee
Alu Vee

All the artists who were featured on this song really came through. I, however, feel that Alu Vee’s verse outshone the rest. He really brought his A-game but maybe it’s just me.

His verse goes like, “Nambari moja bila shaka, me nasaka tena me napata, gang gang gang me ni kama Zlatan, all red boy me ni lion hapa, five course meal but you just starter…”

As you would expect, Boutross also had some great punchlines on this jam perhaps this explains why he was given the opening verse.

The other thing that struck me is the subtle beat. If you follow it as the artists flow, you’ll definitely enjoy this jam.

Listen to One below and tell us what you think.

The song dubbed Kira is the is the fifth record off his Bae Tuesday weekly series where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until December.

Kira is a Kisii word that loosely translates to don’t cry and as you can tell, this song is about a chap who is begging a certain lass not to cry by assuring her that all will be well in the end.

Raj Kenya

One thing that stands out in most of Raj’s recent songs is his ability to infuse his native Kisii language into the lyrics.

Although you might not understand anything that he’s saying, you’ll  agree with me that it’s very pleasing to the ear.

It has never crossed my mind that I can vibe to Kisii lyrics but that’s a story for another day.

The song was produced by Sadafa and in my opinion he did a great job with the beats. Although it’s not the kind that one would dance to, you’ll still enjoy listening to it.

Ochunglo Family’s Benzema has teamed up with Raj and Boutross on ‘Chorea’ and it’s a big tune (Video)

Benzema, who is one third of Ochunglo Family, has a new jam with Boutross and Raj and it slaps really hard. Like, really!

Also read: Boutross, young rapper who is changing the game

The song dubbed Chorea is all about having a good time, whether you planned for it or not. If you didn’t know chorea is a Sheng’ word that means ‘to plan for.’

Although this is not the kind of jam that you would expect Boutross or Raj to jump on, I think they really outdid themselves.

Boutross Munene
Boutross Munene

I loved the hook by Bouti, as he’s popularly known, there’s something about his coarse and lazy voice (some would call it baritone) that made it outstanding.

Of course, I also loved Raj’s verse on Chorea. I mean, how can I not? This lad’s flow is totally out of this world. No kidding.

Raj Kenya

In his verse, Raj says, “Shawty wako sikimbizi, wiki mbili tusha jiggy jiggy, ndizi biggy, mimi sitishiki, sishikiki na nakula paka kama mishikaki, ka si pesa baby tena me sitaki nina taki ya akina Taty, Akina Keti me waliniseti.”

If this is not greatness then I  don’t know what is ladies and gentlemen. I really don’t!

Benzema, who in my opinion is the illest lyricist in Ochunglo Family, also did a good job on this jam. Put simply, they all delivered.

The beat, which was produced by DJ Nephas, was also on point. Ivan Odie – who was the videographer also did a commendable job.

Raj is back with ‘Tiger Power’ and it’s a banger (Audio)

Kenyan rapper Rajiv Okemwa, popularly known as Raj, has dropped a new jam and we are really feeling it. Like, really.

The song dubbed Tiger Power is the is the second record off his Bae Tuesday weekly series where he drops a new jam every Tuesday from August until December.

Raj’s latest release pays homage to Conrad Njeru Karukenya, who was known as Tiger Power because of his public demonstration of his strength.

The 72-year-old who held the title of the strongest man in Kenya died in January this after long illness.

In the song, Raj claims that when it comes to rap, his prowess is comparable to Tiger Power. Yaani he is the illest.

In the hook, he says “Ever ready, paka power, watadedi, Tiger power, Tiger power, me ndo Tiger power, sitishiki sishikiki, Tiger power oh.”

Apart from the awesome beats, you can’t fail to appreciate Raj’s bars in this jam, even if it’s all about self-praise but there’s nothing wrong about blowing your trumpet.

The song was produced by Daydro and engineered by Raj himself and in my opinion they both did a great job.

In as much as he claims that he wrote the song when he was still in high school, it will definitely elicit reactions now that he has released it.

I really love this jam. Raj’s ability to infuse Kisii, English, Swahili in his lyrics amazes me all the damn time.

The song was produced by Lucky and self-engineered. The animated video helps you put the song into context. Props to the brains behind it.

Although you might not understand anything that he’s saying, you’ll  agree with me that it’s very pleasing to the ear.

The other thing that struck me about this jam is the mellow beat, it just gives you a good feeling as you listen. Props to Ilogos Music.

In the song, Raj says that he will settle down with this beautiful lass that he’s eyeing when he gets some money in his pockets.

He says, “Nikipata supaloaf, nitakumarry. Nikipata supaloaf nilipie mahari. I just need bread, pesa, chapaa kwanza iwe supaloaf.”

As, expected Kristoff also came through with some great punchlines on this song.

To add to that, there’s something about how he sings that makes you want to keep listening to a song.

The song was produced by iLogos Music and he also did a great job on the beats. Although it’s not a a party song, I would definitely turn up to this jam.
