Ruth Matete´s late husband´s burial takes an interesting turn

Months after investigations into Ruth Matete´s late husband, Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye´s death began, the Kenyan singer is yet to get access to the deceased´s body for burial processions.

All these being pegged to one thing – ongoing investigations by Nigerian authorities to ensure they leave no stone unturned in getting to the root cause of the Nigerian pastor´s death.

It now marks 2 months since the deceased´s body was and still is being held at the Kenyatta National hospital following a request by the Nigerian High Commission to detain it until the Nigerian government gives a go-ahead.

2 months for an expectant Ruth Matete translates into ballooning mortuary fees for her and her family – something she has declared she can no longer cater for.

The singer and her lawyer had tried to have the court ask that the Nigeria Embassy in Nairobi foots the morgue bills and duly hand over the deceased´s body for burial.

Something she will no longer be pursuing because it has proven an uphill task for her and she needs to move on with her life.

Plus, the embassy became unwelcoming of Ruth Matete and her representatives.

The Homicide unit said they welcome any other evidence that may offer contrary possibilities to the untimely death of the Nigerian pastor.

Just like in an inquest, this probe will remain open. Let those who have any other information come and share we analyse it for action.

This seemingly dismissed earlier allegations filed against the gospel singer, accusing her of hiding details regarding her husband’s demise.

Mr Apewajoye’s claimed manager and friend, Jessy Mc Jessiey exposed the former Tusker Project Fame winner of being violent towards her late husband.

This saw the Nigerian High Commission get involved in the case, additionally putting on hold the deceased’s burial until the Nigerian government gives a go-ahead.

The life-changing move

Speaking to Radio Jambo, the singer however reveals:

Around that time [TPF] I was so stressed and I had financial difficulties.

It was not a good gesture as a Christian.

Even then, I knew I was wrong.

But because in life we have ups and downs, no one should lie to you that after salvation everything is fine.

The self-disappointed Christian admits that she was well aware she was wrong before God but financial challenges might have ignited the fire.

She earlier on confessed that she severally almost gave herself up to suicide but on second thought, God was not asleep.

Additionally:

At that time, one of my friends advised me to try Tusker Project Fame.

I hesitated but finally ended up going because of the frustrations of life, without even thinking about my salvation life.

Background

Ruth Matete´s participation in the Tusker Project Fame competition opened doors to tussles with her father who was quite disappointed in his daughter.

The vocalist recalls:

I had moved out of my father´s house, although I was still in school.

It was not easy and my dad is a very strict dad.

He would give me a small amount of money, unlike what I expected.

Her upbringing especially while in school was contrary to her expectations with only few pennies to cater for her other needs.

Her TPF harvest

However, TPF saw the female songstress walk home with a whooping Ksh 5 M, a sum of money she might never have related with before then.

Furthermore, the alcohol-sponsored singing competition actually open doors for her to fame:

After TPF, there were so many gigs for me.

Most people did not know I was saved.

Soon after her win, she returned to church where she was not well received, to seek pardon for her wrong ways:

When I went back to church, there was a lot of drama, but I admitted I was wrong.

Ruth Matete explains why she has a scar on her back: I got burned by porridge

Singer Ruth Matete has opened up on why she has a scar on her back. Taking to social media, the TPF winner shared that as a young kid she got burned by porridge which left her with the mark.

“You see that scar on my back? That’s just what you can see. When I was young, I got burned by porridge. I was barely walking. Dad says I was still crawling. Back in Kakamega. Mum had prepared porridge and ran out to do something. I crawled, and touched the tip of the pot (sufuria) and it toppled over. Long story short, I burned 80%. I don’t know what that means?, I just know it’s alot of burning?.
The whole of my back, both of my thighs, parts of my hands, and a small part of my head.” she said.

Grateful

Matete added that although she got the scar, she’s happy it came on a place she can hide so it doesn’t bother her so much.

“I mean, God was so gracious the parts that were burned are those I can hide with clothes. Now I know I was born to serve Him. Mini skirts, haiwes mek?
Ooh tank top! ?? ooh bare back. Ooh see through?? I can’t do such. Let’s just say, God is wise??Daddy says it was so hard for me to be carried. They had to do skin grafting on some parts that were deeply burned.

Adding:

“I keep wondering what part of my body was grafted to add to the deeply burned parts. Could the portion of skin that was cut to be grafted to other parts, be the one that could have added to my height???Anyway, before I bore you with the long story. This is what I would like to tell you. You may not have a physical scar like mine. Yours could be an emotional scar, mental scar, etc. It still is a scar. And it would be unfair to even say that my scar is worse than yours. Because we have different strengths. What seems easy to someone else could be very hard to another.

“I’m sure we all have that one time in our lives when things were so bad we can’t compare it with any other time in our lives. I have such a year. And I remember how everything was not working for me. Thought of taking my life to end all the pain and misery… And to some point I actually tried but I wasn’t successful because God!
Finances were not working. Relationship not working. Some main friendships ended…. Ministry was not working. And I thought to myself, am I of any value to this world? You meet someone and they tell you it shall be well some day. God will make a way!! ??? I didn’t want to hear anything that talked of future. I wanted a solution now now now! I wanted to hear, “God has made a way” “Things are okay”, wrote Ruth in part.

Inspiring lessons

Ruth seeks to inspire those who are going through a difficult time, those who have even thought about taking their own lives. She shared 9 lessons she learnt after her attempted suicide.

“I have learned some major lessons in life..

1. The pain we go through is to prepare us for the future

2. God’s timing is the best

3. God knows when you hurt and He has a reason for allowing the pain

4. The day you find out your purpose is the day you start living

5. Forgiveness of sin does not take away the punishment or consequences of the sin (Ask David in the bible)

6. God coreects us coz He loves us

7. When God wipes away your tears, He wipes it all… I mean, every kind of tear at once

8. Only God can heal a wounded heart

9. God forgives. Man does not! 10. Seek ye first the kigdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you.

TPF champion winner Ruth Matete is one sad lady after a company she formed has seen her step off and resign as the CEO.

According to a post she shared on social media, Matete is no longer the CEO of Ruth Matete Music Academy which she helped start after her celebrated win.

Time to walk away

The company was started by the singer and her friends to help budding musicians in Kenya. Her stepping off from the company could mean a huge legal battle is on the way since her old partners are still using her name.

Here is what she said.

However, things did not work out as we had agreed and after some consultation here and there, I opted out of the partnership.

On 25th of July 2017, I officially resigned as the CEO of Ruth Matete Music Academy. It was a long, hard and painful period, as I had to start all over again. I felt like I had failed. In November 2017, I decided to stop crying over what had failed and focus on building.
Like they say, holding on sometimes hurts more than letting go

She added:

“To cut the long story short, I am now at Goshom Music School. Doing what I love. Helping people achieve their dreams in music, through nurturing and training them in their God given talents.. Through God’s grace we have started and growing.

This post is to notify you my client, fan and friend, that I am no longer at Ruth Matete Music Academy. I am still working things out to ensure that my name is removed from the business being that am no longer a partner in the said business. I covet your prayers.”
