Sauti Sol blast Jalang’o after he claimed they are killing the industry: Don’t fix your brother’s collar in public

Comedian Jalang’o, during a heated exchange with Kenyan artists last month claimed that Sauti Sol are among artists who are letting the industry down.

Jalang’o said that Sauti Sol have a lot of Knowlegde on how to operate in the industry but have refused to share with local artists. According to the members, they have been tirelessly working on how they can help the industry but Jalang’o never bothered to investigate.

“Jalang’o is the biggest letdown but that’s a story for another day. I’m a letdown if i see a brother putting down another brother. He’s my guy and he knows the plans that have been underway. I would expect him to have called me first instead of politicizing the whole thing. I got really pissed and actually went off on him on that.

“Polycarp is doing a copyright course at Harvard. Just all these things. I launched Kenya writers association, those are the things he (jalang’o) didn’t know we were doing in the background so that we can have a better dispensation for our artistes.” said Bien Baraza.

Message

He added that their new record label Sol generations will show their hard work. He asked Jalang’o to avoid talking ill about his brother to look like he’s helping others.

“Labels have been started but have fallen for a reason because people are not putting organisational structure behind them. And so we’ve been doing for the last year for our fans have not been just chilling and watching Kenyan music crumble. No. We’ve been taking our time to approach this animal in a different way. To my brother jalang’o what I would say is meza dawa yako. And if i go wrong, don’t fix your brother’s collar in public,” he said.

Sauti Sol heart-break fans after failing to release their nudes when Arsenal thrashed Chelsea

Boy Band Sauti Sol has broken a promise fans were more than eager to see happen.

On Saturday football fans got a chance to see a thrilling match between Arsenal and Chelsea football clubs. On Twitter before the match started, Sauti Sol promised they would share photos of their bare bodies if the Arsenal team emerged he winners.

“Big game tonight! If Arsenal wins, we will all post some n*des,” their Twitter post read.

Well, surprisingly, Arsenal won by two goals and suddenly, when it was time to share the nudes, the band came up with several excuses.

“If Arsenal wins by four goals, we are posting some nudes,” the group said when they noticed the match wasn’t going in Chelsea’s way.

Heartbreak

After the game ended, fans camped on Twitter to wait for the much anticipated goodies but Sauti Sol had a heartbreaking reply for them.

“Guys, guys, guys! Noodles we said. This autocorrect is a bitch. So stop camping here waiting for weird things,” they wrote.

Sauti Sol’s Bien says Kenyans don’t respect themselves that’s why Nigerian Burna Boy can easily disrespects them

Burna Boy was a trending topic during the weekend after he was asked to apologize for disrespecting Kenyans and refused.

The Nigerian singer, a few months back called Kenyans peasants on his social media pages angering many. Many influential people tried to bend his arm for an apology but he totally refused.

Sauti Sol singer Bien Aime took to social media to explain that Burna Boy is not so much on the wrong since Kenyans can’t even respect themselves in the first place, therefore shouldn’t ask for respect from foreigners.

Political

Burna Boy

“If you demanded an apology this vehemently from political class. This would be a different country all together” wrote Bien.

Some fans were not happy with his statement and immediately started attacking him.

“You are always right  …but this time you are missing the point” A fan told him.

Bien replied:

“We don’t respect ourselves but we demand respect from others. We (Myself included) have brought this country and particularly our industry to its knees. I don’t endorse Burna Boy behavior.. But feel like we have bigger fish to fry”

Sauti Sol release second collabo with Nyashinski called Tujiangalie

Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has teamed up with rapper Nyashinski for yet another collabo just four months after releasing Hot and Sweet which went viral.

The two power house have joined forces for their new song dubbed “Tujiangalie” which speaks about the current state of the country. The song becomes the first from Sauti Sol that has them directly addressing the political state of the country.

“For our latest release we thought about the world right now and the number of persistent issues plaguing it,” said Sauti Sol.

The song heavily addresses the issue of corruption and urges young people to stop fighting on social media and seek solutions to the issues affecting the country.

“These things are hardly ever solved and we are consistently shortchanged. So we considered; how can we address these frustrations?”

“Our first realization was to speak power to the reality that we are living in, hence the title “Tujiangalie.” Self-reflection. Recognizing that we have the capacity to change the world we live in by looking inward and holding ourselves accountable for the role we play in society. The truth is “when you make your bed, you lie in it!”,” they explained.

Social issues

Kenyans took to the comment section to offer their views, stating that they have been impressed by the song and it’s realness. The song is the sixth single off of our forthcoming LP, Afrikan Sauce.

Gay or Straight? Kenyans debate after Sauti Sol’s Chimano’s photo

A recent post by singer Chimamo of Sauti Sol erupted into huge and rather ugly discussion in the comment section and online as a whole as majority of Kenyans argued over the singer’s sexuality.

Willis Chimano angered a section of Kenyans when he posted a picture of himself wearing nail polish, rekindling rumours that he’s gay.

#awesome #happiness #soulstyleattitude tonight was awesome! Y’all came out!!! So much love! #THANKYOU #firstgig #Australia #Perth#MelbourneAwaits #seeyoutomorrownight,” posted Chimamo who is in Australia for tour.

Chimamo, however, is not new to these rumors and allegations. For the better part of his career, the singer has been accused of being gay though other members of the band have come out to deny.

Here’s what fans had to say after the photo:

Sauti Sol and Nyashinski finally release their new video “Short N Sweet”

Sauti Sol recently surprised many by sharing that they are planning to quit music and take a long break. We are not sure whether it’s true or just another way of promoting their new track “Short N Sweet” which they have just dropped with Nyanshinski.

Hot n Sweet’s video is now officially out and its just one incredible project.

African theme

Directed by Nate Thomas, mixed and mastered by Sarthak (Wanene Entertainment) the song, like many other Sauti Sol songs, gives the African Spirit that keeps missing in many songs from the continent.

Sauti Sol announce their retirement from music, opening studio first

They have broken musical records, did amazing tours all over the world, met Uhuru Kenyatta, Obama, Jay Z, and a bunch of other entertainers and top figures many dream of being with in the same room with.

So what’s left do? Nothing.

We have achieved everything

Sauti Sol, who have released a new song with Nyashinki called Short and Sweet, might be just looking for extra attention after the new track but the band now claims that they are retiring from the music scene.

Reason? They have done and achieved everything.

“This is where we announce that we are retiring as Sauti Sol and tunarelocate at some point. Tumeshafanya kila kitu, mnataka tufanye nini?” said in an interview.

They added that they want to take a hiatus like Nyashinski did and start a record label.

“Polycarp will be handling A&R, Chimano will be handling the creative part. Savara will be in charge when it comes to production, business and tech, alongside Merek, their manager, while Bien will be overseeing everything,” they explained.

Behind the scenes: Sauti Sol team up with Nyashinski for new song

It’s a collabo many have been secretly imagining for along time now and it has finally happened. Popular boy band Sauti Sol have collaborated with top singer Nyashinski for their new track “Short and Sweet”.

The song is already out and the video will be dropping any minute from now.

“Even before I came back to Kenya, I was always in awe of the works of Sauti Sol,” said Nyashinski.

“It’s amazing how we struck a cord almost immediately, and we’ve grown to become friends. I always believed this (working together) was going to happen at some point; the actualization is an honor – to be part of their Afrikan Sauce project.”

Polycarp added: “Working with Nyashinski was absolutely amazing. This collaboration was inevitable and we knew that both our sounds would fuse so well together but it honesty came out better than we ever expected it to.”

“Short and Sweet” is the fifth single of their upcoming album “Afrikan Sauce” which is currently in the kitchen and will we be served pretty soon.

Other songs in the album include: Melanin (Ft. Patoranking), Rewind (Ft. Khaligraph Jones), Afrikan Star (Ft. Burna Boy), Girl Next Door (Ft. Tiwa Savag) and Live and Die in Afrika (Remix) (Ft. Rick Ross).

Khaligraph ’embarrassed’ by how Sauti Sol go dressed for their video shoot(Photo)

Rapper Khaligraph Jones and boy band Sauti Sol are working on a some new material and it seems shooting the visuals is about to begin.

Cheap shots

Khaligraph took some light jab at the band throwing some shade on how they dress.

“So This is How Sauti Sol came Dressed up for the Video Shoot? Surely What is not Happening? Are we Moving forward or Rewinding back? @sautisol Anyway Respect The OGs,” he captioned a photo of  Sauti Sol.

Khaligraph posted a TBT photo of Sauti Sol

The band also took a cheap shot at the rapper, captioning his popular TBT photo: “Kumbe shida ilikuwa na brand ambassador”

Hit or Miss? Gabu brings in superstars Sauti Sol’s Bien, Fena Gitu, Kristoff, Nyashinski, Kagwe Mungai for new song, Was it worth it?

In his first official project of 2018, P unit’s Gabu has started with a punch.

The artist has brought in a string of celebrities for his new song “Simple Lover” which is already taking over the airwaves.

Silent Collabo

Though it’s Gabu’s first single in the year, it still technically a collabo since Sauti Sol’s Bien, Fena Gitu, Kristoff, and Kagwe Mungai co-wrote the song and Yvonne Darcq, Nyashinski, and Bien also feature in the background vocals. They haven’t been listed in the song title though.

Musyoka, the veteran music producer, produced the song.

“We’re the 1st Kenyan musicians to reach a million legit followers on Instagram” claims Sauti Sol

Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has now managed to join the list of celebrities with 1 million views on Instagram and of course they would not let this go unnoticed.

To announce the good news, they wrote a short message through their twitter handle where they said;

Sauti Sol’s post

#Goodmorning Apparently we’re the first Kenyan musicians to reach a million legit folk on @Instagram. Damn it’s hard outchea. ????????

unlike the likes of Avril Nyambura and many others – Sauti Sol page still remains unverified but hopefully this will happen pretty soon since they are not only big in Kenya but in Africa and other parts of the world.

However, what caught my attention is that they claim that their 1 million followers are legit which has left me wondering whether the likes of Khaligraph Jones who have 200k followers
and are still verified have ghost followers or were the boys throwing shade?

Anyway, as for now they are in Germany where they held a lit show this past weekend for their fans.
