Zuchu could be the female version of Diamond Platinumz in music

Tanzania’s Zuchu is nothing short of a music  genius. I mean she came from being a back ground singer to now the biggest female star at Wasafi records label. Soon she will be holding a thanks giving show for her fans.

In what seems like a start that is fast rising you cannot  dismiss the fact that she is clearly up to take the crown of the best female music star in the region.

Three months after she was unveiled under Wasafi records she has  been keen to keep a regular presence in the online scene. How? After her unveiling mid march 2020, Zuchu immediately served her fans with a 5 songs EP “I am Zuchu”.

zuchu as the female version of Diamond Platinumz
Zuchu

This just to reach her audience that so far is proving to be the best this she did for her career.

With that down Zuchu has been a conatant highlight for the WCB events and even collaborations including teh “Quarantine”hit song .

Zuchu’s Star

Mauzauza is clearly a version that not many people expected especially in Tanzania. Being from a family that has dominated the taarab scene, many believed she’d be a one hit wonder.

However, from her past interviews , the fact that she is her own music writer is  a plus for her. She has believes in working in groups which according to her helps build your music.

Though still an amateur that is jumping to the pro level Zuchu is curving a style like that of her boss Diamond Platinumz. How? She has the agility to reach out using all forms of media to reach out to her fans .Just like her boss back then when Diamond was starting out, he jumped to all interviews when called for. You know why? The numbers mattered at that time.

Thus for Zuchu, WCB is using the same strategy of media presence. I mean she is slated to have a thanks giving show this weekend for her fans.

What she calls a gift will be paid for with the tickets. Yeah, I know you also wondering but her confidence in her talent is also her pushing factor. I mean Diamond just popped out of nowhere, no Tandale and became now the biggest music star in the region if not the whole of Africa.

So in my opinion Zuchu is that kind of artists you want to keep tabs with in music. I mean she could get that collabo with Rihanna like she desires.

Diamond Platinumz’s new album could be another pacesetter for the African music scene

Speaking during a tv interview with BBC,  Diamond Platinumz hinted at releasing his new album soon. The new album will be the second of his after the 2018 A boy from Tandale became a success to date.

As the Bongo world keeps growing Diamond Platinumz has been able to create music that is easy to resonate with by all sorts of people.

Amid the Covid -19 Pandemic the ‘Baba Lao’hit maker was keen to mention that he is now focused on his new album.

I believe this will be another big success for  ‘Simba’ because he is a force that many wish to work with.

Pacesetter?

Hate him or love him, as an artist Diamond has a grasp of what his audience loves.

I remember sometime back when he was on the Trend with Larry Madowo Diamond said that once you know what your fans want, it is easy to write the proper music.

For the longest time he has had collaborations all over African and all internationally with artists like Rick Ross, Neyo among others.

For a guy like this I believe his album will be another of a kind. He wil have many wishing to collaborate with him in future.

I mean the, Diamond can make Swahili sound sassy in an all English song, what of Spanish? Well its a wait and see situation.

However, I can bet that the album will have few Nigerian artists and big American stars too.

What about Kenyan artists?

I mean we have Willy Paul whose voice would be good blend with Diamond’s, if not ‘Mtoto wa Diana’ -Bahati too could be a good idea.  No? Well you be the judge.

Bottom line, this album will top charts if not be among the biggest in terms of streams on digital platforms.

In the meantime we keep waiting on good music that will set the pace for most of African artists.

Zuchu’s first hit in Wasafi ‘Wana’ becomes a talk to many

Zuchu welcome song after she joined wasafi group has really been well done. It’s such an eye catcher to many and through this morale we hope she’ll continue to serve her fans the best.

‘Wana’ is a love song explaining love at first sight. Zuchu narrates how she met this love and past just faded away to acquire the name ‘babe. ‘ She explains how love excites her feelings and thus comfort her in dark times.

Zuchu new first hit in wasafi 'Wana' becomes a talk to many.

Wana is a women empowerment song

The chorus thus describes the title ‘wana.’ Zuchu sings how the first sight love excited her with their hands holding each other. They thus exchanged numbers and their hearts just loved each other.

Zuchu continues the lead with her imaginative love and how she’d want it to flow. She wants to heal her past through unconditional love. In her ‘wana’ song she seems to be having haters whom she’d want them to take it no more. Her love must be burning hard inside her.

Zuchu new first hit in wasafi 'Wana' becomes a talk to many.

‘Wana’ song is so romantic that many would love their partners to listen to. Zuchu sings, for her to be swept off her feet she’d love to be treated like a queen. This entails lots of hugs for through the little things she’d give back in a massive way. This narration applies to many as well and thus a good jam for love.

‘Wana’ has been well done. The lyrics by Zuchu has been well done to bring out the title. The videography too was well done and indeed it does show love. Being her first song in wasafi thumbs up! Let’s motivate her to keep the fire burning by giving us your views as well below.

In addition, her first is a hit just a day after joining Diamond’s record label, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB). Last but not least the song gets a rating of 8/10.

Rayvanny with special valentines gift Vumilia

Rayvanny is back with a new single that is all about love dubbed Vumilia. This is a Kiswahili word that asks one to be patient.

The Wasafi member is back with a loud bang and one thing that is for sure he is great. Rayvanny has great vocals and in addition to this, his lyrical prowess is unmatched.

To start with, the jam has been produced by one superman, Bob Manecky.  It is a song filled with love. The way Rayvanny delivers Vumilia brings the solemn mood of the jam.

Rayvanny with special valentines gift Vumilia

Vumilia is a song that calls on lovers to exercise patience in love

Actually, it is clear from the lyrics that the person has no material wealth. Also, he asks the lady to woman to exercise patience as he finds them something like a better life.

“Niwe kibatari Ama mwanga wa mshumaa Kwenye kigiza cha jioni Nikagonga ngangari Tulishushie na dagaa Ukishatoka sokoni,” reads the firts two stanzas.

To add on, in the next verse of Vumilia, Rayvanny narrates ow the girl goes to the market and has to walk back carrying the goodies.

In this case, it shows a girl who is stupidly in love and is willing to wait for the best. Actually, this song Vumilia is very relevant to today’s generation. Great job Rayvanny.

In another stanza, the Tanzanian star comes with a different thought but still in line with exercising patience in love.

“Kisha tufunge safari Itayochukua masaa Utokwe jasho mgongoni Na venye nina machachari Nikikushika kibaa Utamu hadi kinondoni,” adds the Wasafi signee.

Even as the message keeps getting strong for Vumilia, it seems the guy is good in bed.  Rayvanny has made it clear that he can still please her even without money. What a lovely jam!

To add on, even as we keep on showing love, there is something unique about this Vumilia jam as it seeks to show there is more in love.

In conclusion, Ravanny has done a good job in Vumilia which earns him a rating of 8/10.

Rayvanny band together with Karen for One

Rayvanny is back with a new hit One which is part of his new album flowers. In this new piece of work, the Wasafi signee has featured a beautiful queen by the name Karen.

Also, One is a love song that shows how one is ready to fight for their love. One is a valentine special son. As we all know, valentines will up in a couple of days.

To start with, One is a great song as it has been served by the best voice in Bongo. Rayvanny is known for his great work. Actually, the song sounds like a  response song.

Rayvanny band together with Karen for One

One is a valentine special song

First, you notice Rayvanny sings first then Karen follows suit. It s worth noting that the beats to this song are well thought of and delivery is fine.

Without wasting a lot of time, let’s get to understand the lyrics. On this one, you’ll agree with me that Rayvanny’s lyrical prowess is unmatched.

“Unanijua jua Fundi wa kunipeti peti Tukigawiana joto Kwenye kimvua vua Tujifunike blanketii  Tukitafuta watoto,” reads the lyrics.

Rayvanny band together with Karen for One

In addition to the great beats and audio, Rayvanny is talking of the things that lovers do while outside for fun.  To start with, in this One they are sharing love in the rain and for sure it feels awesome.

Further, into the song, it is clear that the guy has been carried away by the beauty of the girl. Also, he talks of how cool and calm she is.

“Sura yako ya upole Sauti yanitoa vipele vya ngozi Tamu kama kenge ya shilole  Tena umbo lako mama huchokozi  Sikwaachi, Sitakii Sikwaachi yeah, Sitaanii,” added Rayvanny.

In addition, it is good to note that the chorus is done by Karen and she is a master in that.  In conclusion, One is a very sweet and lit song. Did I just say sweet? Yes, it is going to bring lovers together.

Last but not least, keep up with the good work Laizer Classic. Finally, One by Rayvanny and Karen gets a rating of 7/10.

Harmonize should slow down, too many songs at once

Harmonize is for sure in a hurry to claim his space in the bongo industry. The Tanzanian singer has been releasing a song every week after parting ways with Diamond Platinumz.

In a span of two months, the singer has released a couple of songs that we even cannot remember where he started.  First, it is a good thing that he wants to remain relevant but in the process, he is losing.

I do not even know what the hurry is for because no one is competing. It is a good thing that he is seeking relevance but the question is from who?

One thing that clearly stands out is that his management is just lazy. They really do not watch the market. Imagine having two songs in a week and you expect them to hit? It does not work like this. Give us time to feel one song. This way we even get to interact with your songs.

Harmonize should slow down, too many songs at once

Lyrics are whack

While at Wasafi, Konde Boy was the master of the lyrics but that is no longer there. Could it be because he is in a hurry to compete with himself?

Is Harmonize fighting himself because I do not see any other artiste be it from Wasafi competing from him?

It is a good thing that he considers his fans as well as his main goal. When one releases a couple of songs together, only one will win. This is even dangerous for Harmonize because he needs to sell.

Harmonize should slow down, too many songs at once

Back to the lyrics, a man who used to write some strong words no longer has that skill. It leaves one questioning if he wrote his work while at Wasafi or someone did it for him?

First, we might not understand his goal but one clear thing is that Harmonize needs to strategize. His first Uno is still struggling to get to 10 million views, Hujanikomoa his latest is not even close to 1 million views within a period of four days.

Piece of advice to the bongo master, Harmonize, go slow and you will make it to the top. No one cares what your competitors have but your name Harmonize has its space.

Rayvanny cries his heart out in his new jam Naogopa

Rayvanny is a sad man as he releases his new song Naogopa. The celebrated Wasafi singer is not having it easy after rumours of his break with lover Fayhma.

First, in Naogopa, it is all emotional as he talks about love and how he fears to fall in love. Although he did whatever he did with the vixen Nana, he is emptying his hurt out.

Naogopa is very sad and there is a pain in the whole song as he talks about his love experience.

Rayvanny cries his heart out in his new jam Naogopa

It is a very painful song telling of a heartbreak

Mapenzi chenga, Yakikupiga unasurrender, Na wengi wakipendwa, Wanasahau kuna kutendwa. These words are so painful coming from someone who was also happy.

To add on, Rayvanny e is saying that love is a beautiful journey, but it does not work out, it is okay to give up.

Wapi mkandarasi wa moyo Wa ukuta wa mapenzi unadondoka Kinacho ponza wengi ni moyo Wakikalia kuti kavu wanadondoka.

Also in this stanza, Unajisifu umempata Kumbe alo mwacha anamfata Anachotaka anakipata Wanasema hawara hana talaka. The song is just sad, in this stanza he talks of how he praises himself that he has found her, but it is only for a short while and things come crumbling.

Rayvanny cries his heart out in his new jam Naogopa

Actually, this are the best lyrics that I have heard from Rayvanny in a long time. Why is there trouble in his kingdom?  A legend literally tears down in this Naogopa hit. Less than 24 hours, the song has amassed more than 2ook views.

On to the chorus; Naogopa(naogopa) Naogopa(naogopa)  Naogopa(naogopa) Kwenye safari ya mapenzi mi nisiyasikee Naogopa(naogopa) Naogopa(naogopa) Naogopa(naogopa) Tena tochi ya mapenzi isinimulike. He is scared of love and this is evident in his voice and the strong lyrics.

In conclusion, it is sad how things happened so fast. Last but not least, Rayvanny in Naogopa gets a rating of 7/10.

Its all Juice and sauce!”Pepeta” is the new jam by Rayvanny and he features Norah Fatehi

East Africa is now going international at a very fast pace than most us expected. Wasafi’s finest, Rayvanny has clearly proven that music is just a but one language.

Days after he did a campaign song against the Xenophopbia attacks in South Africa, Rayvanny has teamed up with Canadian Singer and actress Nora Fatehi to bring us a much better jam  dubbed “Pepeta”.

Norah Fatehi

In every sense of creativity this song is  banger and will be staying top of the playlists for sometime. Why?  Look at it this way the song’s teaser got  over 5million views on youtube. Yes just the teaser.

Remember, to Africa not many people know who Norah is till she did this collaboration with Rayvanny.  Key word Africa.

Norah Fatehi is an international talent that has her own large following thus this opportunity is a big sale for Rayvanny if not other East African musicians

Pepeta

This is a feel good love song that involves more of dance than emotions.  Pepeta is Swahili for “sift”, however for this song’s concept its all about whining the waist.

At the beginning of the song Rayvanny starts off with, “Bad Girl you can be my baby mama I wanna take you place we can chill for the summer Your body language Tropicana Private jet we can fly to bahamas Flat tummy chains on your waist ( hayaaah!!! )…….”

rayvanny

This to basically shower his woman with promises of  love and happiness if she gives him a chance. He tells her of all the goodies he  will give her to just make her happy.

As the song continues you realize that is all about dancing to the tune of love. He even dares to say she is better than his ex!!!Ouch! Butt life goes on doesn’t it?

The Norah Comes in with her beautiful vocals of course reminding the man that she is the best that can ever be. She further tells his that nobody can whine better than her when it comes to “Pepeta”. She is  a queen in her Kingdom.

Lyrics

For the song’s  lyrical break down, I must say the duo did a good job and the lyrics are very poetic and best part is they are easy to understand. For that good job.

Production

The composition was  done by S2kizzy and Tizaf Mohcine and directed by Abderrafia El Abdioui. The team did a good job even with the editing and  color mixing too. From East Africa we send love all the way to Canada this is a a big tune!

For rating I will go with 9/10. Watch and tell us what you think.

Mbosso in new tune ‘Shilingi’ features Reekado Banks

Mbosso has a new tune dubbed Shilingi. He has featured Reekado Banks in this jam. The artist who is signed under Wasafi is back after his last release Maajab. Maajab has been hitting the airwaves since release. Mbosso is very talented and whatever he does gets to amaze his fans.

His style of art in writing lyrics is out of this world. Listening to Shilingi audio you will see that dude is one to watch. This collaboration with Reekado Banks is just write. The voices compliment each other. Mbosso who known to do his music in Swahili does not disappoint.

Mbosso has a new tune dubbed 'Shilingi' featuring Reekado Banks

Although Reekado Banks performs his lines in English, they still are a great duo.

Shilingi is all about what?

The duo compares love a coin. What do they really mean here? We all know that a coin has two sides. First he likens love the two sides of the coin which in this case he refers to Shilingi in Swahili. There is the happy side and the tough side in a relationship. He talks of how you cannot evade the two sides.

They keep saying Shilingi ya ng’ara ng’ara. This is just dope. This guy is full of hidden meaning. Penzi sarafu ina pande mbili. There is a head and the body in the relationship. Reekado Banks says that he will always be there when the lover wants her.

Mbosso has a new tune dubbed 'Shilingi' featuring Reekado Banks

Actually the love I have for Mbosso’s music is out of this world. I do not know how one man’s work keeps getting better day by day.

The duos work was produced by Abbah and mixed by Lizer. You know this guys audio work does not disappoint. Listening to the audio you will notice how perfect it is. Can’t wait for the video.

In conclusion, Shilingi by Mbosso and Reekado Banks gets a rating of 8/10.

Below is a link to the video.

Mbosso can make it without Wasafi. Want to know why?

Mbosso is one of the wasafi artists whom if we access keenly, he can make it without being in wasafi. As compared to the others whom include; Harmonize, Queen Darleen, Rayvanny and Lava Lava. The WCB Wasafi in which Diamond Platnumz is the director, has helped the latter sell their music into the industry for a long time now.

Mbosso still can do better without Wasafi

Being a stepping stone from the yamoto band, Mbosso has soothed many with his love music which is beyond art. The artist passion and dedication to his music has enabled him earn a number of fans, all over the social networks   and subscribers on his you tube channel.

Reasons why Mbosso can stand alone even without Wasafi

A number of songs the artist has sang a lone with no collaboration as compared to Diamond. Besides all his solos he’s captured lots of fans and viewers on his you tube channel. A song like Nipepee (Zima Feni) attained 1.7 M views being a solo. Others being ‘shida’ which also did well amongest many.

Mbosso under Wasafi records

The latest live performance at Ukunda, Mombasa also did proof how Mbosso has really risen beyond heights. Amongest his few collabos which he’s done with Kenyan artist also have attracted lots of support from Kenyan fans.  Taking a song like ‘Mastory’ which was a love song elaborating the beauty of girl in collaboration with the kenyan artist Gabu. Another hit was the ‘Pole sana’ featuring him with Otile Brown and also ‘Futa’ featuring Bahati.

Wasafi has been a real stepping stone to Mbosso, but the far the artist has struggled to be this far. He definitely can and will make it on his own now. We may never know the plans he has for now but it will not be surprise him leaving, and going above set heights to set a better record.

More so his music is more sensible pointing what many relationships undergo so why not? Many youths got his back and he’ll definitely make it independently.

Pressure?Kenyan artists are Being Wasted despite clean releases of Music

When the year started, Kenyan artists were blaming the media for failing them in terms of playing Kenyan music.

Few months down, the music is being played on most media platforms;social or mainstream.

However, there is the question of what happens after successful releases of music.

This is because the once appreciative lot of Kenyan artists seem to overlook Kenyan Music.I mean months after a song is done you get back to it the views are very few.

Is because the music is bad? What did the musician not do for you the fan? Ama ni Kiburi tu tuko nayo ya kutoskiza mziki?

Music release spree….pressure?

After the blame game went down Kenyan artists went back to the drawing board. How? They have been releasing hit after hit.

Something Kenyans should appreciate. With success stories from upcoming artists  like Ethic, Ochungulo Family,Rico gang just to name a few that can now dine with the  music legends.

Ethic
Ethic

Another problem comes in, what happened to letting a song marinate for a few months before releasing another?

Honestly these artist too do feel wasted or rather discouraged with low response to the music they release.

Even the gospel music artist are also in these camp. They do amazing songs but the numbers are the biggest set back.

One Guardian Angel  of Nadeka hit almost gave up on music, because his efforts were not paying off.

Receivership

But again come to think of it, Kenyan artists are doing well in terms of studio time and production. Kizingumkuti comes in at how the songs are received.

A good example is Kaka Empire’s CEO King Kaka, first we should appreciate the effort he has  put in music for the longest time. But this year seems to be more of a step back.

In the past 3months or so he has had big hits that have sadly hit the wall. True?

Proof, his song Njia that he featured Bridget Blue stands at 218k views on Youtube, another is Poison that stands at 108k views and his latest Far Away that he featured American Musician Cassidy Stands at 118k views.

He among others have suffered the cruelty of Kenyans ignoring the Kenyan Music.Or as it said  A prophet is never welcomed in his own land. These prophets are clearly being overlooked.Sad huh!!

Considering the fact that most songs by Wasafi Records from Tanzania are fast and highly received in Kenya. I believe we are forced to ask this big question,Is WCB music threatening the Kenyan Music scene?

Look at the latest jam by Diamond Platinumz featuring Fally Ipupa whose video was released yesterday has over 1million views in 24hrs.

What should our artists do?

Harmonize reminds us to ‘Never Give up” in new jam

Take it or leave it.We have to appreciate the fact that Wasafi artists know how to connect with their fans.True?

I mean if you are keen fan or listener to bongo music by these artists, you will realize that they do what the fans want and not just about making the money. But of course the money is also key, anyway that is besides the issue.

New Harmonize

With all the drama that followed him after the ‘Kufukuzisha mwarabu” line in Diamond’s new song Inama. Harmonize seems to have been  busy making music worth his time.

The new jam in town from Harmonize is titled ‘Never give up”. The song is more of  a biographical description of the life of harmonize in his musical journey.

 Lyrics

The lyrics in the song take you through his journey from his place of birth to how he ended up in Dar es Salaam. He goes on to tell his fans  to always remember that God is in control of everything that we go through in life.

He himself is grateful for those that picked him up from his lowest, cleaned him  up and gave him an opportunity to stand on his own.

Clear to mention the setbacks in his journey but reminds never to give because life is full of opportunities

Receivership

Though some would argue about how Tanzania music is far much accepted in Kenya in the East African region, we believe it is because of the lyrical prowess these guys posses.

From the views on youtube, you see that the song has reached those it was intended for.

Rodger Muyumba says,
“I really needed some motivation,Thank you very much.May God keep blessing you.Much Love from Zambia.”

Well good job Harmonize. For rating purposes  give this 8/10.

Below is the video enjoy and tell us what you think.

Queen Darleen of ‘Kijuso”:The Queen that is not Reigning

She was Born on November 4th,  1985 in Tanzania. Mwanajuma Abdul Juma alias Queen Darleen, is a Tanzanian musician and producer.

She is the half but elder  sister to Naseeb Abdul Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platnumz. The two share a father, Abdul Juma.

Queen Darleen is a mother of One son who she got in 2005.She named him Rooney.

Career

Queen Darleen’s music career began in the year 2000 .But she released her first song ‘wajua Nakupenda’ featuring Alikiba in 2006.

After a long stay out of music she came back to the music scene in 2011 with a new song ‘Maneno Maneno’ that she featured Dully Sykes. The song bagged Best Raggae/Dancehall song at Kili Awards in 2012.

She was later signed under her brothers label WCB working with fellow artists like Rayvanny, Harmonize, Lavalava, Mbosso and  Diamond himself.

Through this she regained her power in music since 2006. In recent years she has been working on songs like,

  • Kijuso featuring Rayvanny
  • Touch
  • Ntakufilisi
  • Wajua Nakupenda featuring Ali Kiba
  • Wanatetemeka
  • Maneno Maneno featuring Dully Sykes.

She also featured in the all in Wasafi artists song ‘Zilipendwa.”

Relationship with her Brother Diamond Platinumz

According to Hivisasa, it is said that when Diamond was still new in Music she was helping him. With this it sparked conversations  that people thought that they were dating.

Something she says she is used to; people speculating! On her birthday her little brother  Diamond Platinumz bought her a Toyota Tactis.

Speculations

As a woman in the male dominated industry, Queen Darleen has had a fare share of romantic speculations in the music industry.

However, this did not dampen her spirit to do music. She was first said to be involved with award winning music star Ali kiba .This was after She and Kiba had done their first song together ‘Wajua Nakupenda”.

Before long she was further linked to be in an affair with Dully Sykes a man she considered her brother.

Expectations

Even with a promising career in the Industry , some of us believe considering her stature, Queen Darling should be the reigning Queen of Wasafi Classic Baby.

But from the music break down its not so.Reason? We are yet to find out.

Ideally just as she is  well accepted in the Coastal parts of Kenya, the world would appreciate her music if she did more.

Mbosso of the famed ‘Nadekezwa’-The boy that turned to a man

Mbosso is a bongo musician whose real name is Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi Jr. He was born on 3rd October in Kibiti, Rufiji to a mother who is a farmer and a father who is a tout in Kibiti. His father is called Yusuph Mbone Kilungi while his mother is known as Khadija Salim Kilale.

Despite the hardship he says his parents supported him and educated him until he finished the high school level. This according to a documentary done by Mbosso titled ‘Life of Mbosso” and was produced by Wasafi Records.

After High school he convinced his parents to allow him leave home and go to Dar es Laam and try his luck in Music.A stance that they hesitated for a bit.

Just like any typical African  parent, his parents wanted him to study if he was to have a better chance to life.

Career

He later left home for Dar es Salaam where he began his music career. When he got to Dar, life was not rosy as he had thought before leaving home.

As he kept his hustle one of Tanzania’s biggest producers Mkubwa Fella Identified him  one night picked him up from the streets. Mkubwa Fella teamed him up with a Mkubwa na Wanawe band  which he was managing that was later called Yamoto Band.

Working together with Aslay, Enock Bella , Mbosso  and Beka Flavor,Yamoto band became a sensation for 4 continuous years.Unfortunately they separated after irreconcilable  issues cropped up.

According to Mbosso he went back home after hitting rock bottom, but fortunately he was once again taken back to Dar by Wasafi’s artist  Rayvanny . This was after several friends who trusted in his talent  tried convincing him to go back.

After a while he was signed under Wasafi Records where before being unveiled he had to work on his solo album.Things were tough but  Mbosso did not give up.

As I write this, Mbosso has done several songs that have been received well in East Africa and they include,Watakubali,Nadekezwa,Hodari,Nipepee,Alele,Nimekuzoea,Picha yake, Shida as a solo artist and few collaborations too.

Love life

Mbosso has also kept his love life off the media. However he says he has two children.According to the documentary, his song Watakubali is a true life story of the lady from a rich family who truly loved him but their difference in life status was hindering the relationship.Whoever the lady is, Mbosso will not be revealing her anytime soon.

He recently bought a house for himself and you’d see his humilty in the caption he put on the post on his Instagram post of the house.

Below is the Documentary of his life.Watch and tell us what you think.

Sobriety in Music Writing:Kenyan Vs Tanzanian Music

This year has had its fair share of Drama in the entertainment Industry majorly Music. It started with the play Kenyan Music  hashtag. This sparking a conversation for several weeks both on social and mainstream media.

But where do  some of our artists go wrong? Essentially there is good music, but not enough has been done to better the Kenyan Music.

Kenyan Artists and Writing..

Do Kenyan artists  ever ask yourselves why some of the music ain’t playing on mainstream media?

Understanding music as an art and not just a way to fame are two different approaches. As a musician, one has to embrace the fact that dedication to writing is key.

Many of  the Kenyan artists get lots of backlash because of  the songs lyrics. The biggest bunch of artists are this that use direct vulgarity to do music and their lyrics depict nothing less than ‘we need help in writing”.

Good examples of these artists are the likes of  Ethic, Ochunglo family,Rico gang among many others. The latest song by Ethic that was able to amass over 1million views has lyrics that in my opinion  are too sexual,

‘Si hupandana, panda panda Si hupandana, katangaze basi baby Si hupandana, panda panda  Si hupandana eeh”“Tunabakana, hapo nyuma na sidika  Mnafanana, maana kila day bana  Unaitangaza, katangaze basi baby”

This does not mean that there are no music writers its just that not many embrace them. Such writers include, newly signed under Sol Generation, Bensoul,’Bazokizo’ hit maker Collo,Bien Barasa of Sauti sol, ‘Lingala ya Yesu’ singer Pitson is also a celebrated writer just to mention a few.

Well, these names depict that the Kenyan Music scene would do so well with such talents in writing more music for artists.

Content creation…

On the other hand Tanzanian artists have embraced song writers that bring a poetic approach to music. This gives music a touch of sensualism. Thus making the music very easy to relate to. The likes of Wasafi records artists take a poetic sense to reach their audience. Furthermore I believe they understand their audience before releasing a song.

Recently Darasa of Tanzania Released three songs back to back .His lyrical approach in one of the songs ‘leo’ that he featured Juma Jux is spectacular and metaphorical,

Hello its me again Mr Burudani, take away the pain Pole kwa kuchelewa si unajua foleni Nawapa vidonge kutuliza complain” “Kichwa, sijabeba kama pambo Akili, nimetega kwenye chambo Fullu, charge na fullu bundle Ukileta usoo, unawekwa kando”

Bottom line…

Its evident that, yes Kenya has good music writers and good artists. But so does Tanzania.

However, fact is that there is a line drawn between the two industries and if we are not careful,Tanzania will dominate the East African Music scene just because they embrace partnerships, research  and team growth.

But again in the millenial sense of thinking, maybe the receivership of music is also a factor that degrades lyrics writing. If vulgar songs are accepted allover the world. Why not our own Ethic and the likes? Wakisema ‘Pandana’ tutapandana as regulators keep gushing on these young lads instead of helping them grow.

Furthermore, if Kenyan artists embrace excellent song writers then we’d have hits like ‘Megarider’ by Nameless and Kaligraph on a daily basis.

Singer Q-Boy tomented by regrets after ditching Diamond Platnumz’ Wasafi Records three years ago

Tanzanian singer Q-Boy has confessed that he’s regretting leaving Diamond Platnumz’ label Wasafi Records.

The singer, who left Wasafi without clearly explaining why, recently spoke about it with Dizzim saying that he deeply regrets leaving and doesn’t mind returning. Q-Boy also made it clear that it’s not about money but the kind of music they are making and it’s impact.

“Hata kama ningekuwa na pesa kama bakhresa bado ningerudi wcb kuomba msamaha.” he said.

Sorry

He also apologized in the interview saying that he might have had a few disagreement with them that forced him to leave WCB long ago before they became a movement, but he’s sorry just in case he angered them. Q-Boy left Wasafi almost three years while Diamond was still assembling the team that has now grown into a music force.
