Music trio P unit and Citizen TV news anchor Willis Raburu have urged Kenyans not to donate any funds for of hunger-stricken counties.
According to the three guys, Kenyan government has been ignoring citizens in all kind of manner and shouldn’t ask for donations from them.
“Hii gov yetu imetuzoea sana .Hawatupei kazi na bado wanataka mchango. I am totally opposed to any Kenyan straining his or her pocket further to throw some cash to M-Changa or Paybill account to feed Kenyans starving in Turkana, I wish to incite the readers of this post to desist from doing so.
“Somebody make me understand how such a rich county could experience death as a result of drought, yesterday I said drought is not an accident, It is not an abrupt happening like the typhoons, it is foreseeable. Allow me to repeat the same. It is not the first time Turkana is experiencing drought.
“What were these allocations for? To pay employees? To take elites to devolution conference? To buy leaders choppers? Let Turkana residents go arrest their leaders and demand the money we all donated to them as a country. We got no other cash to contribute via M-Changa or M-Pesa, they can either choose to act or choose to die, he said.
Gabu’s P-Unit counterpart Frasha also came out to support saying:
“I say no to paybill number” campaign. Part of his comment on Gabu’s post reads: “Change shall not come from IG and what’s app groups it’s high time the youth realized they are the majority and they have the power to change this country. How can we be talking of drought in the 21st century yet countries which are deserts give us relief food.”
Willis Raburu also tweeted bashing governors saying that they are never concerned about their people.
Citizen TV news anchor Willis Raburu recently topped headlines after speculation that NTV was trying to poach him and make him the new host of the Trend Show.
Then, the news anchor, who hosts youth’s program 10 over 10, denied the allegations but he has now opened up saying that it’s true Nation Media Group tried poaching him.
Speaking in an interview on K24’s Talk Central, the funny man said that he consulted his bosses before the move to make sure no bad blood was created.
He also wanted to ensure that he can make a return to Citizen in case everything backfires at NTV.
“What happened was, there was some offers that were made but you know that am so into Citizen, Royal Media, Sk Macharia and you know what happens in the media is, there is such a rush, they offer you money, throw figures but if it’s not going the direction of your brand, but at the end of the day the environment where you are working is also important, I had to talk to my bosses to understand if the move was okay. I didn’t want to make a mistake because you can jump ship then it goes wrong, the direction of what they were offering was not really what am doing, I have done it before so I just went there and had a conversation and I decided to stay” said Willis Raburu.
It’s now a year since Willis Raburu and his wife Maryaprude exchanged vows. The two have endured a lot as a couple as they fought social media severally while defending their love.
Their love has grown stronger from such challenges and Raburu took to social media to prove this sending a lovely message in the process to celebrate their first anniversary.
Here is the post Raburu made to honour their anniversary.
“I am normally very good with words, but it’s only your beauty that renders me speechless. I marvel at your heart and love for God, your love and respect for me…you teach me so much, you inspire me, you pick me up, you are my number 1 fan, you got me and you are even more sexy when you pray. My personal bad girl, my comedian, my best friend. Like I said I get speechless but the words that I am forever grateful I spoke are: “I DO” I love you,” he wrote on Instagram.
His wife added:
“I Love you so much! It’s one year now to many more I used to wonder what they meant by saying Marriage is a lot of work and it is meant for grown ups,Believe me now I know,” her post read.
Citizen TV’s Willis Raburu has been tipped as Larry Madowo’s likely replacement, word in the street has it that Raburu resigned from Citizen TV two weeks ago so that he could join NTV as the Trend host.
Raburu used to host The Trend’s replica – 10 Over 10 alongside Joey Muthengi. The Citizen TV show ran concurrently with the NTV show.
