Aslay Claims Rayvanny’s Arrival at Wasafi Records Contributed to Yamoto’s Disintegration

Aslay, former member of the defunct Yamoto Music Band, has revealed that the group’s disintegration can be attributed to the arrival of Rayvanny at Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi Records.

Yamoto, a popular music ensemble consisting of Mbosso, Beka Flavour, Enock Bella, and Aslay himself, had been a dominant force in the Tanzanian and East African music scene in the mid-2010s, producing hit after hit. However, the group’s unity began to unravel, and Aslay believes that Rayvanny’s affiliation with Wasafi Records was the final blow.

In an interview with Millard Ayo, Aslay admitted that the band was already on shaky ground. Still, the situation took a dramatic turn when Rayvanny was unveiled as a Wasafi Records artist in 2016.

Rayvanny’s swift reception into the label included the gift of a Toyota Rav 4 for his transportation needs, a move that reportedly stirred envy among the Yamoto members.

Aslay explained that this incident sparked a desire for individual success and similar rewards among the Yamoto members, leading them to entertain the idea of pursuing solo careers.

He disclosed that he was the first to depart from the group, releasing his debut solo track “Kidawa.” Following his lead, other members of Yamoto also ventured into their solo projects.

Aslay suggested that this marked the beginning of the end for the once-thriving ensemble. He lamented, “To be honest, in the end, it seemed like the group was heading towards dissolution because everything was going downhill, not where we expected it to go.”

While Aslay’s claims may be controversial, they offer a glimpse into the dynamics of the Yamoto Music Band and the factors that ultimately contributed to its demise.

The song dubbed Haijakaa Sawa, which loosely translates to ‘it’s not okay’, has been ruling the airwaves since it was released a few hours ago and to be honest, we are also feeling it.

From my understanding, this track is about a man who is trying to assure his partner that although things seem hard at the moment, the future is bright and their troubles will one day come to an end.

Mbosso tells the lady to stop frowning and not to get worried when he comes back home with a nasty temper because things will get better with time.

Although I am not a huge fan of Bongo music, I must admit that I totally love this song. The first reason is because it carries a very powerful message which is hope and perseverance.

The other reason is very obvious and that is the fact that Mbosso has amazing vocals. You just want to keep listening to him as he sings because you kind of get the feeling like the message he is passing comes from his heart.

To add to that, he also knows how to control his voice. Notably, the beat and instrumentation on this jam are also on point since they make the song catchy and blend well with Mbosso’s style, vibe and tempo.

The song titled Pekee Yangu, which are Swahili words that mean by myself, has been ruling the airwaves since it was released a few hours ago and to be honest, we are also feeling it.

Enock Bella

Pekee Yangu is a love ballad. In the song, Enock Bella says that he would rather remain without a partner than being with someone who causes him pain.

He says that they promised each other great things and now that his partner has decided to leave he has no idea what to do.

This track is so infectious. I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and every time I play it, it is like I’m hearing it for the very first time. If you are the lovey dovey kind, you’ll definitely love it.

Enock Bella

Enock Bella really came through on this jam. God blessed him with an amazing voice and he knows how to put it into good use, take for instance this song where he does an exceptional job on the verses as well as the hook.

This guy sings from his heart and as you listen to him, you get to connect on a deeper level. At some point, it felt like a live performance of the song but then again maybe it’s just me.

The beat and instrumentation on Pekee Yangu are impeccable. Other than the fact that they blend well with the voice of Enock Bella, they also made the song catchy.

I absolutely love the video for this jam. From the concept, location, styling, props and scene transitioning everything was on point.

Tanzanian singer Bakari Katuti, better known as Beka Flavour and formerly of Yamoto Band, has released a new jam and it’s really dope.

The track titled Again is about a beautiful lady who is driving the artist crazyHe goes on to reveal the things that he loves her as well as what he would love to do with her.

In the song, Beka Flavour says that he will never get tired of her and he’s ready to put a ring on her finger so that she belongs to him forever.

Beka Flavour

Although I’m not a big fan of Bongo music, I must tell you that this jam is really infectious. It’s the kind of songs that will make you randomly text one of your exes or crushes, trust me.

Apart from the fact that Again is well-arranged, the one thing that will make you retain this song on your playlist for weeks, months or years is Beka Flavour’s voice. It’s so amazing and sounds pleasant to the ears.

Notably, his lyricsm is also on point. This jam just flows so much so that you want to keep listening to it. If you’re the lovey dovey type then I’m sure it will resonate with you.

The beat and instrumentation are also impeccable. The producer, Hanskiller, outdid himself on this song because it’s so infectious and I would not be surprised if I saw people dancing to it.

The video execution was good. However, I feel they should have thrown in more scenes instead of centering it around the car. That aside, I totally loved the styling and flawless scene transitioning.
