Why Nigerian musicians focus to EPs than albums, should Kenyan artists follow suit?

When we talk about music, I believe it is all about making you feel better. Music keeps you entertained, helps in making you understand some things from a different aspect.

Anyhow, in African we have our own way of doing music be it based on tradition or today’s modernity.

Lately, as a continent, we have created our own niche in the world of music.  How? Our artists have made names by going international in terms of production, lyrics, and delivery,

Well, a good example is how Nigerian music with the likes of Yemi Alade, Teni, Chidinma, Mr. Flavor, Davido, Tiwa Savage , Burna Boy among others have clinched their places in the international market.

EP Focus

Learning and acquiring new ways to make new music and at a faster rate is through doing Extended Plays(EP). Extended Play is famously known as an EP.

An Ep ideally is a series of three to six different tracks combined. They are a bit different from an album that can have up to 12 songs.

For a while now we have noticed that most artists from Nigeria are now focusing on doing Eps than full albums.

Reason?Maybe because it is cheaper and can be done faster. Furthermore considering the widespread of Gengetone in Kenya that in some way crippled the presence of Nigerian music on our airwaves.

Clearly this comes as an eye-opener for Kenyan artists that instead of overspending on albums why not adopt the Ep for some of their music.

I mean maybe this can reduce the struggle of trying to find means for album launches that are proving rather expensive for some.

Or rather it will help them with reachability I mean, for me I would want to listen to an EP that has 3 songs that are big bangers that buy a whole album that I will skip almost 8 of the songs all in the name of supporting  Kenyan music.

What if the EPs are made popular?

Don’t you think it is time to take another focus and see what happens in music production?

Akothee responds after Kenyans said they are willing to trade her for Yemi Alade

Some Kenyans are tired of singer Akothee and her controversies and are looking at ways how they can benefit from this situation.

Trade her if we can’t deport her.

A meme that has been doing rounds now for sometime stating that Kenyans are ready to trade the singer for Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has finally gotten a reply from Akothee.

Take her please

The funny meme also had to drag another artist, willy Paul, who is always trolled by Kenyans.  Kenyans shared that he’ll be used as a guarantee when Akothee was being trade. Willy Paul is another singer who is always trending because of his controversies, sometimes that don’t even make sense.

On Instagram, Akothee thanked God people don’t have the power to deport her because she’ll have been already sent away by now.

“???? if only wishes were horses me and my uterus would be deported at 1 click ???????thank God your powers end on the keyboards ???? watadoo? ?? I AM YOURS BY THUON.”
