Trendy Actor Jnr Pope of Nigeria was pronounced dead

Popular Nigerian actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, also known as Jnr Pope, was tragically confirmed dead hours after reportedly being involved in a boat accident. Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed his passing.

Rollas revealed that despite efforts to revive him at two prominent hospitals following the drowning incident, they were unable to save him. “It’s so so sad that our joy was short-lived… Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him,” Rollas lamented.

The confirmation came after conflicting reports regarding Jnr Pope’s status circulated online. Initially, it was reported that he had drowned while filming in River Niger. However, Rollas later announced that the actor was responding to treatment. Unfortunately, Rollas later retracted his statement, confirming Jnr Pope’s demise.

The tragic incident occurred shortly after Jnr Pope shared a video while on a boat, expressing concern about the risks involved in their journey. In the video, he could be heard pleading with the boat’s captain to navigate the waters carefully.

Jnr Pope’s caption read: “See me lamenting… The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket… Na wahoooooo… Who does that??” He further emphasized the dangers they faced, stating his responsibility as the sole provider for his family and father to three children.

Reportedly, two other members of the film production team also drowned in the incident. However, there is no further information available about them at this time.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the actor is still alive, but updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
