CNN International welcomes award-winning Kenyan journalist Victoria Rubadiri to its ranks. Rubadiri steps into a key role on the network’s long-running program, “Connecting Africa.”

This addition strengthens the show’s team as it celebrates its fifth year and injects fresh African narratives into the global conversation.

Rubadiri, previously a prominent figure at Citizen TV in Nairobi, will contribute to both the monthly program and CNN’s newsgathering efforts in the Kenyan capital.

“Connecting Africa,” hosted by Eleni Giokos, dives deep into the dynamic and growing business landscape across Africa. The show aligns with significant economic initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, aiming to showcase the continent’s economic potential.

Rubadiri brings a wealth of experience to CNN. Before joining, she enjoyed a successful career in Kenyan broadcasting and radio presenting in the US. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and was recognized for her exceptional talent in storytelling with the prestigious BBC World News Komla Dumor Award in 2020.

Rubadiri expressed her excitement about the new opportunity: “I’m thrilled to bring my experience and passion to CNN’s global audience. ‘Connecting Africa’ empowers African business revolutionaries, and I can’t wait to collaborate with Eleni and the team to bring these stories to life.”

Ellana Lee, a senior CNN executive, echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting Rubadiri’s expertise and storytelling skills.

“Victoria joins ‘Connecting Africa’ with a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the continent,” Lee stated. “Her appointment underscores CNN’s commitment to amplifying African stories told by African voices, and our continued investment in ‘Connecting Africa.'”
