Woman whose husband killed her after posting plans to do so on X laid to rest

Jackline Jerop Kimaiyo, the victim of a tragic killing in Mathira, Nyeri County, allegedly by her husband over suspicions of infidelity, will be laid to rest today.

As a teacher in Mathira East, Jackline’s body was discovered, while her husband worked as a night guard in Thika, residing in Waitethie, approximately 50 kilometers away from her workplace.

Before and after the fatal incident, her husband took to social media to publicly accuse her of being involved in an extramarital affair.

The burial arrangements have been made public by the family, stating that Jackline will be interred at Kapkatui village, Keyio North, Elgeyo Marakwet.

Family and friends gathered to honor her life during a vigil held on Wednesday.

Through his social media posts, Jackline’s husband, Kosgei, alleged that she had plans to leave him, despite his purported sacrifices to support her education at Murang’a University.

In a series of tweets, Kosgei expressed his despair, indicating a loss of purpose in life and implying a desire to join his late wife.

Using his social media platform, Kosgei directed menacing messages towards Jackline, tagging law enforcement agencies and media outlets.

Their relationship, according to Kosgei’s accounts, began in high school and endured despite familial objections.

Tragically, it was discovered that Kosgei had taken his own life after his alarming tweets gained widespread attention, shocking the nation.
